She at first pushes him away due to her patchwork skills not being very good and the boy ending up not quite handsome. She tries to cut away some parts here and there, a little off the head, some extra in the arms, all to try and make him perfect. The girl comes back to her doll one day to see it properly patched up and seamed. It's revealed that the boyfriend had been using his own patchwork skills to fix himself, since the girl was actually just cutting him up. Though it does look like foreshadowing, the difference this has is that in the beginning the cake couples kissed wirh the girl giving the kiss and the guy simply offering his jaw, a distant move from him. But since at the end the kiss is reciprocated, theres chances that things will be different, as they could always talk thoroughly about the issues represented in the short clip.
But the wife didn't want it cause it would ruin her figure. I find that a shallow reason to not want kids. Don't me wrong, and do not mistake me...a woman has the choice if she doesn't want to get pregnant, that's fine(infact I find the idea that women don't have the right to choose absurd) But if the husband wants kids the reason she doesn't want kids shouldn't be her figure, it should be she doesn't want that responsibility, or isn't ready for it. Cause adoption always exists, the puppy/dog is always nice, but I am surprised it wasn't mentioned. Well what should I expect from a short animation. And while I am sure this couple wasn't going to be ideal parents based on some later issues...I still dislike the idea that traditional couples always need to get pregnant. There are plenty of children who need good homes. Just as there are good dogs that need homes. So, shameless plug, but consider adoption. :)
