Ryu literally has nearly zero answers to Terry because Terry lacks punish window opportunities compared to Ryu, who has tons of punish windows for Terry to exploit (that's messed up, Capcom). This explains why Yas gets punished hard when he is pulled into Terry's beatdown vortex. Yas' Ryu had no answers to counter hardly any of Terry's attacks during close up move exchanges. Right now, my boy Terry is too safe regarding his recovery windows, which I don't like as I believe in "high risk, high rewards" and "low risk, low rewards". Sad to say, but unlike other Top Tier characters such as Ed, Akuma, Rashid and Cammy, Ryu can only beat a Terry player through zoning and quick whiff punishing, which requires fast reaction speed. If you have slow reactions and struggle with whiff punishing, you're likely to lose against a skilled Terry player when using Ryu. Trying to counter Terry through move exchanges (rock-paper-scissors mechanics) will also lead to losing, as the windows for exchange opportunities are far and few, especially with Terry's unfair hit priorities on many of his normals (especially crouching medium punch and kick). This is why Yas never engages in move exchange situations, as he knows that Ryu will surely lose in such confrontations. It's puzzling from a storyline perspective, considering that Ryu is supposed to be a near grand master and yet struggles with move exchanges, unlike Ken. Oh well. There's no point complaining as this is what Capcom wants as part of their business strategy.
@@ilcollins871 Maybe your skill levels is low, or you didn't observed the match properly, or you were lacking comprehension, THTB614, Edurdomiranda and ilcollins871. Maybe the answer is a mixed between the first and second. I was referring to the up close combat exchanges in the context of MOVE EXCHANGE. Ryu cannot effectively fight Terry in close combat exchanges, similar to how he cannot fight Ed, Cammy and AKuma in close up move exchanges. Whenever Ryu tries to engage in such exchanges, Terry dominates. The only way for Ryu to gain an advantage over Terry is through zoning and footsies. This is exactly what Yas did, resulting in a 3-3 outcome. Also, things such as Recovery speed are self explanation and obvious to see for Terry trumps Ryu in those regards for Ryu is an open book in comparison. If you analyzed the match and observe Yas's approach, you would have noticed that he intentionally avoided close confrontations beyond OKi, which was the right strategy. But if your skill levels are low or you lack understanding there is no way you three would understand that even though others do. It's so d aft to think because I mentioned what I said it means I dislike Terry. Don't be mistaken and don't dismiss. I don't need to say this but SF, Fatal Fury and KoF are my most favourite 2D fighting games, and my favourite 2D fighters are Terry, Kyo, Iori, Andy, Ryu and Ken. I didn't say "my boy, Terry" for nothing. You have no idea how excited I am for City of the Wolves. Terry has only been out for a short while, so it will be interesting to see how players perceive him in the coming weeks. Currently, I think players' initial reactions to Terry are similar to how they felt about Ed when he was released. Initially, people thought Ed was a mid-tier character when he was actually top-tier. In the next few weeks, we'll find out if Terry will be viewed at the same level as Ryu, or if he'll be considered a top 7 character like Ed. My prediction is that he will be in the top 7 and not fall into the mid-tier category that some players believe he might be in.
Yas exposed serious defense issues of mago
That is not Ryu, that is Evil Ryu lol Ryu's reach and damage is mopping Terry
Battle of the Smash characters

This is a weird conclusion to come to from a match that went 3-3.
@@THTB614 I just think he doesn't like Terry, maybe he's an anti-SNK guy.
@eduardomiranda1104 yeah, seems like hate for sure.
