4:54 the movies were more "grounded" with more practical effects, this gladiator 2 has the feel of a "clash of titan" over hollywodesque over the top action wich doesn't fit a semi historical epic.
I completely agree. Personally I prefer practical effects. I know they take A bit more time but the pay off is beautiful & gives A more realistic feel to the universe the film is in. & I'm not saying cgi is bad, it definitely has is place its just over used.

The movie shouldn't be called gladiator 2, he cinematography, the acting, the set pieces that are way too clean along with the costume, it feels very artificial in comparison to the 2.
unfortunately, these days movies are generally made if they know for certain its going to make money. And since the first one is classic they know ppl are going to go see a "Gladiator 2". I wish there was more originality & new ideas on film but its no longer about the art. Its only about the money. This is the main reason we get so many trash films these days.
Denzel is way out of place in this movie, likewise with Pedro.
