- It’s time for the third generation of Chevrolet’s big Traverse SUV, and the brand has performed a thorough redo of the three-row family hauler for the 2024 model year. Appearing in showrooms now, it sports new styling inside and out, an entirely new powertrain, new technology, new screens, more utility and something it’s never had before: an off-road-capable version. For families looking to get off the beaten path and camp a bit further out in the woods than they could in the previous Traverse, the new Traverse Z71 is here with genuine off-road capability thanks to a lifted stance, 18-inch wheels sporting all-terrain tires, a new dual-clutch all-wheel-drive system and a specially tuned suspension. Unlike some of its rivals, it actually can go off-road (just not too far - it’s not a ZR2). If you want to stick to the streets, the line-topping RS brings a dash of sportiness to a massive three-row, seven-occupant SUV. Sort of.
Cars.com Detroit Bureau Chief Aaron Bragman had a first drive of the new 2024 Chevrolet Traverse not far from Atlanta recently and came away impressed with it, especially its ride quality. What else did he like about it? He’s happy to tell you. What do you think about the new Traverse? Leave your opinions in the comments below.

How was the on center feel of VW Atlas plz?
Great review!
Thanks for watching!
I am Korean.
Thank you for the review
I have some questions.
1. Does the RS trim have a HUD function?
2. Is it possible to go forward and backward with the vehicle remote control from the outside when parking?
1. No, HUD is only available on GMC
2. No
No fog lights on any model? Only a 4 cylinder engine?
Yea the whole no fog lights thing kinda bother me, I feel like every vehicle should have them, but I feel like the 4 cylinder engine is fine, produces more power and torque than the previous 6 cylinder does anyways, and with (slightly) better MPG
WTH is up with the drive mode and AWD buttons being on that spot? Come on GM!😢
