My niece bought the new Trax with the 1.2L turbo. She drove it from LI to Lexington KY. Had no problems whatsoever driving over the mountains of MD and WV at 70mph and tank averages were 39-41mpg. Better acceleration than other cute utes, too. If the 2.5 turbo is calibrated the same way, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

Love that they changed the cup holders for 2nd row folks! Moved from the door and made that perfect spot for a phone. I am not a big fan of taking away all the buttons tho. Such a safety hazard. I can see the traction control but when my toddler is being a turd I wanna be able to hit that button fast to stop her from rolling down a window in 0 degrees 😂 definitely don't like the gear shift situation either. They hit a home run with that front end tho! I have a 2018 so it's interesting to see what changed. Awesome video Sir!

We're coming up on 80k miles on our 2018 Traverse. Bought it with 30k miles. Been an amazing family hauler for our family of five. The highway gas mileage over a full size SUV is a killer feature with these and is not talked about enough. I'd order an LT with black out package and upgrade to the evotex if I were buying one.

I haven't seen it in person yet but based on videos and pics I think GM hit a home run with the styling of this new Traverse! It looks like a grown up Trailblazer with that same C-pillar treatment and slightly more boxy, rugged shape which looks great!
Thanks for talking about the buttons... Makes so much sense to put rarely used controls on the screen while keeping physical buttons for the things you use a lot. GM gets it!
And it's impressive what they can get out of a 4-banger now!

But the fact that it’s an electronic shifter that you just press up or down seems flimsy to me plus that is where I’m used to the wiper stalk to be. This is just my opinion, if you like it good for you. Just don’t ridicule anyone that doesn’t agree with you.😃

With the engines you described me perfectly I have to have a V8 I have to have a V6 four cylinder turbos are not bad the problem is I don't care what brand you have I've never seen anybody riding around with any size turbo all original with 100,000 plus miles on it.
So for now it's great but I'm worried about longevity.
I was laughing they removed my headlight switch I'm somebody who uses it every day.
Every time I get in the car because I hate daytime running lights so in the daytime I turned them off.
And if the Sun is just rising or setting I like to just put on the parking lights with the fog lights.
Wishing GM and yourself a lot of success with this vehicle.
I currently Drive a 4 cylinder Chevy turbo and so far so good but there's only 40,000 Miles on it so time will tell.

I see a problem with operating the transmission on the column .. appears to be complex .. and people will be driving in the wrong gear which greatly damages the Transmission. I can't image what kind of issues will occur at Car Rental Agencies .. with all new drivers renting these . Also I love to turn and off the headlights manually .. to insure they are on , front and back lights. There are so many people driving at night with the wrong lights on and no Taillights . I love knobs and control to turn on and off in front of me , not in a screen / computer. I can also see accidents occurring as people are going to be looking for these features in the screen etc. I have a 23 Honda and really dislike not having knobs to change my radio station instead of going to the screen pushing the up and down bottom .. why can 't they just have a dial , like the volume dial to change stations.

The Z71 looks great. I have to admit I really like the design. I'm just worried about the reliability. I'm coming off of a Jeep Grand Cherokee that has spent over a year of my ownership in the shop of the some of the worst dealers I've ever been to. Yes, I know it's not a GM made car and that MOPAR has terrible reliability. However, my last GM car was a 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT. Yeah.....
I'm still going to look at it though.
Also the lack of the window lock out and lights buttons is very, very annoying. I actually use them quite frequently.....EDIT: Wait...I see they're all easily available and not buried in menus. I still want a button for the lights but the others are fine like that.

The one thing I disliked about this car is the transmission selector. People always shat on Ford's Dial or the Button Select, but having those controls on the same stick that most cars would have wiper controls on makes me nervous of the possibility of putting the car on netural on accident when you wanted to operate the wipers mid-drive. Other than that, it's a GM product.

Toyota has recently suffered greatly from using turbos in their Tacomas and Tundras. The bottom line is turns do not have longevity and are not as reliable. I have a 2016 Traverse with the 3.6 200,000 miles. I would not purchase this vehicle.

Using a screen is much slower than manipulate a button instead of going into a screen which is dangerous while you are driving. It is probably smart but impossible to do while driving.I have got a screen in my car but it is much easier to use .The screens get bigger and bigger and some cars have a screen for the passenger next to you or the passenger seat .Ford has problems with their 2.7 l eco boost. Chevrolet has had a better reputation than Ford.

Junky vehicle with sleazy Chevy salesman. Eight speed transmission with federal class action lawsuit against it. Direct injected untested turbo engine that is not enough to carry four people and luggage. They get rid of buttons and vinyl. Get a Honda Pilot with V6, real leather, and no turbos.
