Hey, just saying that’s most likely not all manual top. They probably pulled a handle that’s underneath the bench seat on the driver side which would cause the emergency release of the motors for the top. The motors are in the trunk on the driver side. You will see it behind the trunk trim cover I swear I did it on accident my 1994 BMW. Also you will have to partially lift up on the front lip of the convertible top. You have to release that handle on the roof and push up the top as you are pushing the button for putting the top back
Ragtop E36 BMW's are literally some of the best budget rides. There are so many of them for dirt cheap man, that's gonna be a sick fixer upper! They're also surprisingly simple to work on with pretty cheap parts. Can't wait to see this thing get some love, also I fuck with AJ that dude is hilarious

Also didnt specify where the handle that releases the top motor is… it is underneath on driver side right under the back passenger seat cousin. You’ll see a fabric loop on the handle most likely sticking out but love the channel and hope you seen this

@5:40 re-upolstry is easy, A: clean the surface available. B: once fully dry, tape off all areas you dont want glued. C: spray adhesive onto both side of that parts you want to join permenantly. D: allow the glue to fully flash off before playcing the fabric onto the panel. (this ensures tno negative ractions cause glue to fail,MUST DO THIS STEP) E: ally pressure and hold for at least 5-10 minutes. use some masking tape to hold in place. F: 24 hours later, clean up and youre done
Come on bro is an auto e36 very you could have found a much cleaner one for cheap. The auto verts aren't very desirable with enthusiasts so they can be had clean for not that much money compared to a manual coupe.

Also didnt specify where the handle that releases the top motor is… it is underneath on driver side right under the back passenger seat cousin. You’ll see a fabric loop on the handle most likely sticking out but love the channel and hope you seen this
