Honestly, this table turned out WAAAAY better than I expected.
Hey when your wife asks you to make her some custom furniture (a horse ribbon table to be exact), there is really only one acceptable response - YES!
How could this possibly go wrong? Buy a bunch of expensive walnut, use a bunch of tools that were never designed for this level of precision, do something that goes way beyond my normal DIY project, and expect it all to come out as a high(er) end piece of furniture? Yeah, no problem, I said.
well...yeah, it ends up making furniture is kinda hard and actually takes a lot of planning that I really didn't do. But, if anything this video should demonstrate that even with no prior woodworking skills, you too can make some pretty nice stuff if you think outside the box and just prepare to have to correct your mistakes as they happen.
This is a "ribbon table" that I made for my wife. The purpose of it is to act as a display case for horse showing ribbons and in the end that's exactly what it is. If I hadn't filmed every single screw-up along the way, I bet you'd never even know.
