VIX has a lot of carry. The "cash" VIX index isn't tradable, only VIX futures (which cash-settle to the index upon expiry) are tradable. The VIX futures price in mean reversion, therefore trading above cash (in low VIX environments) or below cash (in high VIX environments) Often it's tempting to sell VIX in high environments, or buy VIX in low environments, but the "carry" often drives more of the PnL than the actually move to reversion... so when VIX is low, selling VIX futures actually works better (for example). Obviously this always varies and isn't guaranteed, but it's a trade setup.
I havmt listened to this podcast in a while iv taken a break from trading essentially got wiped out and took a break for a year , I'm getting into it slowly building my accounts back , I'd love to be on this podcast one day , I have some stories to tell , I skipped high-school the day of teslas IPO , I wasn't able to buy shares because I was getting in trouble for skipping school , but that was when i fell in love with the stockmarket 😂
Vol Points: Meaning the vol number... VIX 15 vs VIX 17 = 2 vol points I say vol points to distinguish 2% absolute difference on the index versus a change of 2%

Would it be possible to include a glossary of terms?
He completely lost me on how he was able to profitably trade volatility on the VIX
VIX has a lot of carry.

Very technical. I wish he had spoken more of the psychological side, like toward the end of the interview, that was great.

Hey just do apex prop no downside risk
Great podcast, this one was pretty useful and insightful.
Selling options when volatility is low is CRAZY. How do you avoid having your face ripped off when you're short and you get a volatility explosion?!?!
The mental gymnastics this guy does to trade is wild.
I would greatly appreciate it if Greg would restate some of the points made by the guest - in plain English
A bit confusing and hard to follow but some good points here and there
Sorry? What does Greg mean when he talks about “Vol Points”? Is he referring to the Vega of the option?
Vol Points: Meaning the vol number... VIX 15 vs VIX 17 = 2 vol points
I say vol points to distinguish 2% absolute difference on the index versus a change of 2%
You guys should just go 1 by 1 down the Kinfo leaderboard
