    Oh this isn't technically scalping, more like identifying a breakout and entering at a higher low. Scalping relies on fast oscillating indicators and from personal experience a bit of madness/leap of faith.. keep an eye on volume in higher timeframes so you're insured in case the price doesn't reverse.

    I hate breakout entries. That’s the worst trade I take. If undecided on breakout I’ll enter es long off bottom of range and short nq off top of that range. Take profit at top and bottom of range to pay for stop then let rest play out like you said. It I see breakout candles get engulfed more often than not it seems especially short time frame. If I take more than few ticks of heat I’ll usually try for break even exit because I was wrong and it’s not respecting my level. It’ll usually give you one chance to break even and I’ll sometimes reverse position because it really runs the stops when that happens.

    • @LyricsQuest
      @LyricsQuest 6 месяцев назад +2

      Definitely. Just recently on NQ, I could see a stop hunt candle right at the after-market hours open, and right before the day market's open. Obviously to stop future traders who took long positions during the day, and to stop out traders who took long positions in the evening hours when it was looking bullish. Think there's tickers that don't get stop-hunted as frequently, but which ones? The indexes definitely do.

      That's why they look at stocks in play. Because there is a lot of new participants on the stock that day driven by the catalyst, and they are making large trading decisions on the spot. You want to identify key areas on the tape or chart because they are most likely areas set by institutional buy programmes that have to fill large order sizes, so you want to piggy back on them. It's a different story if you trade a stock not in play, there is a lot of random price action in those and usually they are more sensitive to market maker hedging, etc.

RR of 1.24. I kept my risk based on the initial balance, so this could have been a much larger profit depending on how I scaled my risk. Going to be testing this system in the 2025 markets.

    This is quite educational. It's crucial for newcomers to keep in mind that the financial markets are highly irrational in the short run. You should constantly be ready for the unexpected. That is how chance operates. Because of the inherent risks in the market, I always favor long-term investments.

    My (limited) experience of trading with a prop firm is that the spreads and commissions totally obliterate my backtest results. A 1:2 trade results in 1:0.3 - Very disheartening and I don't see how scalping would work unless you have a phenomenal win rate.

    • @mbellafiore19

    I am just failing to understand how is this different than intraday trading. You are spending good enough time to find out stocks in play. You are waiting for breakouts or breakdowns. Taking 1 as 2 risk - reward ratio. I think scalping needs to be much faster. This way you might just get 1 or 2 trades a day. A scalper would normally take more than 10 trades. What exactly is the difference in scalping and day trading?

    The fin-Market;s have underperformed the U.S. economy as fear of inflation hammers the prices of stock;s and bonds. My portfoliio of $750k is down to $592k any recommendation;s to scale up my return;s during this crash will be highly appreciated.

      The market is volatile at this time, hence i will suggest you get yourself a financial-advisor that can provide you with entry and exit points on the shares/ETF you focus on.

    26:57 video, maybe 2min of it actually talks about the topic. And the "secret" is....look for a consolidation range and enter when it breaks out...huh? What about Judas swings? How are your exits quantified exactly (i see the amount sold...but why?)

    • @3377ftw
      @3377ftw 6 месяцев назад +1

      He talks about the exits... Measured moves. He says how to calculate the size as well

    • @naaraayananr
      @naaraayananr 3 месяца назад +1

      One measured move is nearly guaranteed and two measured moves is the usual target for most breakouts thereafter wherever it goes further is a bonus... And holding a good size for the largest part of the distance is the necessary trick to turn your wins into explosive ones... But it's extremely tough and highly risky as well...

    It's funny how I used to think every investor went broke during recessions, meanwhile some made millions. I also thought Everybody went out of business during the Great Depression, but some went into business. Bottom line, there's always depression for some and profit for others, it all starts from having the right mindset. That said, I've set asides part of my savings to invest for future. Unfortunately I'm a complete Noob.
