- Crossbow Appreciation Month continues with comments from viewers and my thoughts about them.
I am not sponsored by anyone! But I do share what I like and what I don't like. And I like a good coupon code to save a few bucks as much as you do (see below). My "perfect" crossbow setup these days includes:
Killer Instinct SWAT X1 (starting 2023)
Burris Oracle X Scope (since 2022)
AJ's Custom Arrows, LLC (since 2024, Reaper FOC shafts, 8.35 GPI (40 Ton Carbon) with 110 grain inserts and Vanetec Swift 2.25" vanes on the SWAT X1 and Reaper 9.6 GPI shafts (24 Ton Carbon) with 110 grain inserts and Black Sky vanes on Bunjie, Jr.
Bunjie and I also recommend the following, 100% of time:
Burt Coyote Lumenoks (since 2012 or so) (save 10% on lumenok.com with coupon code BUNJIE )
Swhacker #251 3" cutting diameter crossbow broadheads (for our last 20 or 30 deer/hogs and woodchucks). Swhacker stopped production of the #251 in 2023 but never fear: the #243 is the same exact item, although a different color. You're good to use that one :)
Dragon Claw arrows from Wyvern Creations (good outfit, been buying different gear there for years, these arrows were great in the SWAT X1 throughout the 2023-4 Crossbow Seasons!)
A.J.'s Custom Arrows, LLC (since 2024, see below)

Check out the Gear Page on our website, deathbybunjie.com. Again, I am not sponsored by anyone! But you can see what gear I like and don't like on that site. And if you buy from Amazon.com using one of those links, Death by Bunjie receives a small referral fee and you DO NOT pay more! How cool is that?
Bunjie (The Original Bunjie, The O.B.) is my 2010 Excalibur Axiom that got me hooked on crossbow hunting. This was my "one gun" for more than a decade and Bunjie's reliability is the reason I ONLY hunt with a crossbow. After killing dozens of deer, hogs, squirrels, woodchucks, and even a bear, Bunjie is now semi-retired, but still gets out every year and even killed two deer 2023--and a woodchuck at 81 yards!
Bunjie, Jr., is my daughter Genevieve's crossbow, an Excalibur Micro Suppressor 355. This crossbow was also a much appreciated gift from a Friend of Bunjie, and it changed Death by Bunjie forever by inspiring Genevieve to become a part of our story as a second-generation crossbow hunter, and it also convinced me there is a benefit to a newer, faster crossbow back in 2020 when I began the Quest for a Successor to Bunjie.
Enter Bunjie III (or Bunjie '21, Bunjie 3.0, The Slick Black Cadillac of Crossbows), a 2021 Scorpyd Deathstalker 420, the result of trying various models and looking at dozens of them online for characteristics I liked. It is, in fact, a gift from a Friend of Bunjie, which goes to show how important Friends of Bunjie are to this channel and what an impact they can have. Bunjie III is a testament to modern crossbows, producing over .7 slugs of momentum and almost 140 ft-lbs of kinetic energy with stock arrows--at around 400 fps! This crossbow helped expand the Kingdom fo Bunjie by introducing me to compound crossbows and showing me they're nothing to be feared, and also helped me get my first deer on public ground. This crossbow also inspired the "Rule of 400" that I talk about from time to time: a crossbow that can shoot a 400 grain arrow at 400 feet per second is the definition of a modern crossbow--producing over .7 slugs of momentum and over 140 foot pounds of kinetic energy, the envy of the archery world.
Again, I am not sponsored by these companies. I am sponsored by Friends of Bunjie! (I'm not asking for gifts whatsoever--please don't feel like you should send me stuff! But I do appreciate the support I've received over the years! I'm just trying to express my appreciation for that.)
Bunjie and I have written two books: The Death by Bunjie Crossbow Method ( amzn.to/3zJbAI0 ) and The Death by Bunjie Crossbow Story ( amzn.to/2Peq4aC ), both available on Amazon.com with those links.
Check out the Death by Bunjie podcast, Talking with Bunjie! It's available on deathbybunjie.com or on the podcast app of your choice.
Facebook much? deathbybunjie
This channel is the result of combining my interest in filming and hunting...and music, too! The soundtrack for this channel is provided by my band, Yankee Militia. The albums "Live Free or Kill" and "Zombies Gotta Eat, Too!" are available on Amazon.com and elsewhere. A third album is in the works.
If you've read this far, then there is only one thing left to say:
All Hail Bunjie!

Death by Bunjie
I love this video. I didn’t comment on the last one because I really appreciate the help you’ve given me related to crossbow hunting. I was thinking though, the modern crossbow is EXPENSIVE. I could afford it, but many people can’t.
The options you talk about do help people and stagnation wouldn’t. Thanks. I’ll always be a fan.
Thank you for this!
@@Deathbybunjie 👍
I agree with you, Rich. There are plenty of crossbows out there from many companies or brands that are comparable to the Swat X1 and Tenpoint technologies. These other brands are cheaper, but still have the capability to shoot 400 fps with a 400grn bolt. With a less expensive brand you could have the money to pay for a better scope. Another possibility is to keep your current crossbow and spring for a better scope like the Burris Oracle, that is an option I'm thinking about right now. Making an older crossbow that you like and trust better seems like a true improvement on equipment and a good way to grow as an archer.
Honest... I watch for bunji... newer stuff..ehh... but to watch that old cross bow kill.. or it's improvements.. just being honest. You have a great season rich!
There’s always good in a Bunjie vlog. The sport evolves, the equipment evolves. We as X-bow hunters & shooters must evolve too or be left behind.
I agree with the past sentiments - best crossbow channel on the internet. Love your attitude. Love your tendency to be humble and admit to your successes and mistakes and I've learned a lot from you! And as far as "your base," I spent a small fortune of my crossbow and scope. Your "base" includes guys like me who spent a fortune, AND guys who buy something off the shelf at Walmarts. None of us are better or worse than the other. We are all in this together.
Great way to put it thank you!
Rich watching your videos over the years, I personally have learned so much about crossbows and new equipment out there. Yes when I started my bolts were stock bolts. Then you had a video on zombie slayers which I upgrade too. Then you mentioned custom arrows, and at 64 and crossbow hunting for many years I felt it was time to go custom from AJs custom arrows. Which by the way are the most accurate I’ve ever shot. The bottom line is by you staying current, you have kept me interested in your videos. For what’s new and what works. Thank you for all you’ve done and are doing to promote crossbow hunting.
Hi Rich, I really enjoy your videos and totally respect the way you approach your gear selection. By the way, I made use of your discount codes last year at Lumenok and Swhacker, thank you. After using the same crossbow for 10 seasons I look forward to using my new Swat X1 this fall. I did save my money for a few months to purchase the Swat X1 but I believe it is a good value for the money. Thanks for the Crossbow Appreciation Month videos!
Awesome, keep an eye on strings and cables (see that video last fall) and that crossbow should suit you well!
Rich - I like that you try out new gear. I value your opinion, so I use it to determine my next gear. I took up crossbow hunting a few years ago. I didn’t know if I’d like it, so I went a little cheaper and bought a Center Point Mercenary 390. It’s been a great crossbow and I’ve taken many deer with it. I’ve never had anyone tell me I should go more expensive, nor have I ever thought anyone’s ever talked down to me, including you. I see us all as a crossbow-hunting community regardless of whether you “drive a Porsche or a Hyundai”, so to speak. Happy Hunting, friend!
Still shooting my “slow” GRZ2, and still love watching your content!!!
That time of year is coming up again! The summer is winding down. The beauty of fall will be upon us soon.
Can’t wait!
Crossbows gets everyone into hunting and that’s a good thing
You’ve always been honest and consistent in your videos and messages Rich! As a long time FOB I think you’re still spot on so keep up the great crossbow fight!
When most people start our witha new hobby they start out spending what they can afford then as they progress in the hobby and financial stability they can afford higher end gear.
Your journey with Death by Bunjie mirrors my life journey which is one's of the reasons I love your videos and channel.
FOB for life!
❤️💯👍
You love the outdoors and love to hunt and to me that's all that matters! Keep up the great work you are doing!
You carry on with you're progress buddy , I think you're doing great and it's great that you forward your progress with what ever you feel and want to to buy .
Love your shows .
Andy . U.K. 🇬🇧
I will never get tired of hunting the same deer out of the same tree stands with the same crossbow. I've been doing it so long that I can't even remember when I bought my Ten Point Blazer. The Blazer is so reliable and accurate. I'm almost 72 and I do not want one of these new tech Crossbows. I watch your videos about these new CB's but I know I'll never purchase one. I don't know, maybe if I was 30 it would be a different story. But for now, "All Hail Bungie"!
I'll say that I'm definitely one of that target audience you were looking to reach!
I was a pretty staunch muzzleloader hunter until I came across your channel here, Rich. I only took the crossbow plunge after I had seen you display what a capable device they are, I got myself a refurbished TenPoint bow and was on my way! All the knowledge you passed on in your videos got me comfortable with the strategies & technology I needed to be successful crossbow hunter.
I took 3 deer last year, and I owe it all to you! Keep up the awesome work, brother!
Welcome to crossbows!
You are still my go-to source for crossbow information. When I want to convert someone to crossbow hunting, I just direct them to your channel😁
And I fully agree, keeping up with the times and expanding into never crossbows, keeps the channel relevant.
Keep up the great work. I am excited to see what Crossbow Appreciation month will bring👍
I bought the swatx1 and the oracle because of your videos. Love the setup and took a nice buck last year with it. Thanks for the videos!
Man, I love that setup, good luck out there
I think you've been right on. Thanks for the info and enthusiasm.
Who gives a 💩 what anyone thinks. Do what you want and buy/use what you want. It's your channel.
It's easy to offend people. I'm an ob fan buuuttt I do enjoy seeing the modern stuff. I personally use a excal 340 and an invader 400. Sometimes I really like the 400fps other tines I like the much slower and simpler excal. I think it's great that OB still gets use even though you have much better performing gear. You're doing great keep it up.
I’ve been here since around 9k and you’re the same person but you’re also growing and you’re improving and setting yourself up for success and growth!
Great tp have you as a Friend of Bunjie all this time!
Rich, your the best, thanks for sharing, always look forward to your videos.
Thanks for all you do. You inspired me to to get into the sport, and keep me passionate about it. Carry on.
Rich I think you switched from rifles to crossbows because you wanted a challenge and Bunjie fulfilled that need for a challenge. As a former compound bow hunter, I could appreciate the struggles you went through and enjoyed watching your adventures. Modern scopes and faster crossbows take some of the challenges away, but I think some people would enjoy watching you overcome some of the challenges with technique rather than technology. For example, limiting yourself to 20 yard shots and closer. At the other end of the spectrum say compound bows vs traditional bows, I have friends who would like me use a trad bow to take a deer. I am not willing to always get within 10 yards to take a deer with a trad bow. My guess is you would not be willing to limit yourself using the older equipment. I think your goal seems to be to make crossbow hunting easier and more accessible and I thing that is the best way to go. I enjoyed your discussion...
I love your show and I understand what you’re saying and I agree with you. I can’t afford that and that’s fine but I do the best I can with what the money I can you do it you find out if it works if it works good for you hi Mike spend a little bit more. We I upgraded last year to the Barnett HXP405. I think I get a new crossbow every 45 years I switch and I usually give my old crossbow a new hunter, but you can miss me to switch to the slackers are used to make fun of them, but that’s what I shoot out 3 inch 150 grain, I love you show you keep it up, man
Rich, I have always subscribed to "live and let live". You have a great channel. The upgrades are just choices and growth. Keep up the fantastic work! I'm still hunting with my original Barnett Ghost and totally satisfied. Doesn't mean that won't change tomorrow and is totally irrelevant to the satisfaction I get from hunting. I don't believe you've left anyone behind. Keep em coming 🦌
There's always room for upgrading ,we just love your show rich if somebody's only here to see day in and day out the same ol thing as in the beginning then you cannot expand your mind ,I want to grow with the channel, keep on keeping on I love it
Thank you!
Thanks Rich for a great start to Crossbow Appreciation Month looking forward to the informative upcoming videos
Seeing you happy with new stuff or old stuff. Its doesnt matter. Im doing the same things. Its juste nice to be able to watch you on your journey has a crossbow hunter. Because im doing the same thing lol At the end of the day we are all thinking the same things. Shooting our crossbows …arrows… stands…blinds… food plots…feeders… the people that we hunt with …trail cames… mature bucks loll you,re awsome. Respect.
Thabk you, thank you!
As a new fan of death by bunjie and also a person who that will be a 1st time crossbow hunter this upcoming season, I truly appreciate the years of knowledge and evolution you are bestowing upon your viewers. I was given an older horton crossbow a few years ago and have yet to shoot it due to crazy work schedules and whatnot.
As ive become more determined to make this a part of life, i kept asking myself, ultimately, what is the most important thing I need to make sure im 100% confident in when archery hunting. It's about etically putting that animal/deer down as quickly and efficiently as possible. I know that my older crossbow can do the job but my confidence in it is not there. Which is why i decided buy a cheaper 400fps killer instinct crossbow. This decision was based on the more readily information on the newer crossbow thay could be found.
Watching your videos testing different products have helped me get closer to having the confidence of pulling the trigger and harvesting an animal.
Keep it up, its definitely appreciated!!
Good luck!
Rich would like to thank you for your help on choosing a crossbow that was right for me I’ve got a center point 370 that I’ve had for 4 years now and I’m very happy with it and been very pleased with it have taken deer ,turkeys with it. And plan to use this setup until I can’t and then move on to something else so just saying thanks for the advice
Awesome 👌
I bought my Fatal X it was an open box return at $100 discount black Friday. You dont need the best to harvest game. Just getting gear and permits and licenses helps to preserve a way of life the modern world is too fast forgetting.
I agree, Rich if you’re not involving, you are falling behind. When I was young, my first bow was a recurve when I was able to I got a Whitetail2 compound then I went to a Hoyt compound. And then I started with crossbows. I now have two. I absolutely enjoy watching all your videos. I have learned so much myself with reading your two books. Keep up the good work.
Spot on sir, love Killer Instinct crossbows, many inexpensive 400 fps plus models, Ive got 2, a ripper 415 and a speed 425 with factory arrows & 100 grain 2 inch cut Swhackers, very flat trajectories even with the factory scope 20, 30 up to 40 yds. many deer down and quick, always an exit. W. Liggett
Love my Kawasaki mule. Bought it used last year but sure helps navigating food plots and moving gear, seed. Etc
Man you can get a lot of work done with one of those that's for sure
Rich, your videos are always enjoyable and helpful. I like learning about and seeing new crossbow products even though I am fully content with what I have. I will always be a FOB and "Swa-hacker" never gets old!😉
😄
Bro you buy and use what makes you happy. Don’t let people decide what you do in your life!
These are some of the common things people say on a bunch of crossbow Facebook groups. They will get offended because you are talking about newer expensive technology that you love to use and they take offense to that because they’re shooting a lower and crossbow that’s like under $400. also bowhunters is a very broad definition. A lot of these people can’t see spending thousands of dollars when they only hunt a handful of times out of the year.
Love the title, can’t wait to watch this one
😁
Best crossbow channel on RUclips👍😎🏹
My favorite "Death by Bunjie" moment was when the gift of Bunjie Jr. hooked Genevieve into crossbow hunting. Watching her get her first deer with a crossbow was priceless! I'm a very long time vertical bow hunter who has an interest in crossbows. Heck, I don't even hunt with a crossbow, & I have a Swat X1 sitting in a box. I blame that on guys like you! LOL! I also couldn't pass up the $619.99 deal on one last fall. The day is coming where I may have to hang up my compound bow, but in the meantime I still enjoy shooting one. I find crossbows a bit boring to shoot, but that's me. Some day that may change. There's room in the woods for all of us! I have a 71 year old friend who still prefers hunting with his custom made Deathwish longbow. It limits his shots, but he's already harvested a lifetime of whitetails. I don't judge either end of the archery spectrum when it comes to equipment. A person should do whatever they enjoy! Thanks for reminding us of that Rich!
Great stuff thank you
The best part about new crossbow tech is that it becomes standard or significantly cheaper in a few years on entry-level bows. Think about it, I can pick up a reliable 400fps bow from Walmart.
Yep 100% agree...the more it improves the more accessible and affordable it becomes. I've been talking about that lighter faster smaller denser AND CHEAPER 100% apples to crossbows.
Rich, good video, I believe you are trying to help everyone with some newer equipment, which most people should be able to aquire without spending major money....
I have the SWAT X1 with the stock scope. Love it and I bought on sale, with rebate and another % off. It was not that expensive compared to entry-level bows. I have no plans to get the Burris scope. As of now. I spend my $$$ other places. It’s all a matter of priorities. I hardly consider you fancy, Rich, when you look at all the guys cruising around on $20K side by sides and e-bikes and hunting from shooting houses that cost as much as a used car. If you’re going to spend some $$$, I’d focus first on the xbow like you do! And 100% agree, you need to try out new equipment so we can learn about it if you want to be a content creator!
Congratulations on 40k subs!
Thanks! And thanks for being a Friend of Bunjie!
Good explanation of ethos there Rich. You've reappeared on my RUclips and its refreshing 👍🏴
I love crossbows! But just haven’t gotten to the point where I’m ready to switch from my compound!
I personally like how you hunt with the different crossbows at times. I stay tuned to find out how you came up with the name Bunjie. Lol
Day 3 of Crossbow Appreciation Month, and we got Rich fired-up and displaying proper Defense Attorney skills "Just Teasing"... One thing I miss, "Sunday night Live streams". Bye the way_ the clip of you hanging a ladder stand is priceless, It should be your next Tee Shirt. \m/
😄
Rich you are the man! I think you are covering all of your base other than the super high end crossbow users, which I think is the minority
I got into crossbow hunting in part because of your info and videos. I don't know where that person got that impression.
My center point put down a deer the first year. No interest in 'upgrading'.
Thanks Rich.
Well said.
Thank you.
It’s an interesting conversation. I have 2 crossbows, both Scorpyds Aculeus. One has all the bells and whistles. AeroCranck AD, 2x8 compact scope, Black Eagles with AeroVanes. 180 pound limbs. Over $2500. The other is a 110#, short rope cocker has a reflex sight. I haven’t hunted with the 460 Aculeus in 3 years. All I use is the used 110# Aculeus I paid $800 for.
Great video. Even though one eye corrupted you a tad hahahah.
Seriously I think it is good to push the crossbow more into the world. But I do think technology needs to do a stand still and fix what they have make them more reliable and stop the speed race.
I like seeing the all the crossbows. The scorpyd is another life long crossbow just like the enforcer could be or even the Axiom. Granted I did always find the Axiom to be on the weaker side of power but thats just me.
Since you have not only tree stand hunted but also ground blind hunted ,what are the pros and cons of ground blind hunting verses tree stand hunting?Great videos and I know that there is sure more to come.😊
ruclips.net/video/KutLG9Wftl8/видео.htmlsi=B3GY2O75m-T5SMkY
That's a good start 😆 but there's a ton of things to consider. Really I think you can get closer with a treestand, that's big.
Absolutely EXCELLENT!
Are you planting clover?
Can I come hunt with you?
oh, and you kinda stepped behind your video link...
I hunt with a 9 year old now, he harvested 3 deer last year.....but would love a video on two man ladder stands, last year we stuck to ground blinds.
I am going to get a video done on different kinds of tree stands for crossbow Hunters this month
You do what's best for you. I'm hunting with a 415fps xbow that cost me 350.00 5 years ago brand new. Yeah its cheap but it's modern. You can go modern and cheap
💯
I for one adjudicate you innocent of the charges placed against you in that comment. I think that the opposite is true. I've not seen you belittle anyone on their choice of crossbows. You've only stated fact that a person should get the best and fastest bow that they could and to practice with it to make sure that they will optimize their hunt and proficiency. When I bought my bow I chose a Killer Instinct Ripper 415. It was not the highest price bow, nor the fastest and maybe not the highest rated bow on the market but it's speed was pretty well up there, at that time, and it was in an affordable price range for my budget. I have only known you to give good information and have been very truthful in every aspect of what you've talked about. Thank you, Sir, for your help along the way.
Thank you! 😊
Some people need to hate. How many people talk about crossbows consistently. on You Tube? I don't need to see 100 videos of someone shooting a deer. That is everywhere. Sponsors ruin t.v. shows and now it's spreading to this platform. You believe in a product that is good to discuss but I don't need someone telling me how great it is because they get paid a few dollars and a couple free things. Appreciate what you do and the content you bring. Keep doing what you are doing!
I hunted with a crossbow that was 320 ftps 1 crossbow I ever owned. The broad heads I was using weren't all that great. Then I found swhacker 100 grains. I double banded them and wha la. It became a kill machine. But unfortunately the limbs gave out after 3 or 4 years. So I went looking for another crossbow and decided on one that was $249. Set my same arrows up with swhacker 100 grains heads. I now have a constrictor crossbow. And guess what 500 grain arrows 2 in swacker broadheads. I found it using swacker the deer never ran over 20 yards if shot placement is correct. I Don't like to hunt without them It is a must. I think if your arrows are set up correctly and the correct broadhead your shots will become highly accurate in the kill zone and the deer will not go too far. Rich this is definitely something I cannot hunt without I got to have my swackers. I think you have found out that the blood trail and the game dropping pretty quick after shot it's been a key factor in the success rate, plus a complete pass through. It is sad that after impact just inside the body of a deer it still has 90% of the kinetic energy that it had when it left a bow. I tend to agree wholeheartedly because that 90% after it penetrates the first layer of skin is enough to drive it slap through the deer. I think if you logically think you're set up through you will be successful in hunting The key is know the limitations of your setup.
Well said!
Love your stuff, shoot what you can afford or want to spend! Personal choice. At least you ain’t shooting a raven!!😂
We never know! 😄😅😂
Yessir!!
You can not sweat the small stuff, hunter as to improve and increase the ability to move forward Burris is a grand and that to me is a deal some day I will get one but for now using my stock scope not a problem 45 and in. I am using 400,400 set up yes I will improve to a rang finding scope someday, but I will not ha y e on any one you has a little better rig keep up the good fight, LOVE YOUR CONTENT
Ahree 100% there's lots of ways to get the job done and the rangefinder scopes will come down in price over time for sure, will be commonplace
I think the advancement of technology goes hand-in-hand with crossbow use or any hunting technology is very welcome. I mean, let’s face it. The idea is to increase your accuracy and to take a deer or whatever you’re hunting in the most humane fastest way.
💯
Great and positive message. Speaking of new and different, any experience with the Hickory Creek Mini? I started my crossbow hunting with an Excalibur and am now also expanding to different options. Thanks.
The only thing I know about them is I think they're not quite in the modern speed category but boy are they I need option for certain applications, probably would work very well with saddle hunting! Up and down like the tree.
@@Deathbybunjie concur on the speed of the bow. I will attest that they are a lot lighter, relatively, to an Excalibur 340.
Good vid 👍
Apparently there are some that think that we should still be using 100 lb crossbows that thake 2 people to handle. Progress is part of life you can do it, watch it, or just get out of the way.
As to cost who hasn't gone to the store and payed $50 for a basket full of nothing.
Find something you like then stay with it. But don't get in the way of others.
Good points 👍
Just like your favorite band, if they played the same music every year, it would get old and become stagnate. You would not listen to them as much per say. Glad you have evolved, Rich, but haven’t lost your base😎👍🏹
Yeah that so-called base is still here complaining every once in awhile haha but in all seriousness you hit the nail right on the head with music. I want to hear the old stuff and some new stuff too. It's all good!
👍
It looks like crossbows have passed compounds as a hunting tool based on reported harvest. I wonder if sales have gone that way too.
Pretty sure yes, one thing I've noticed is that in every state where crossbows become legal, they overtake compound bows in about 2 years. Now in Pennsylvania approximately 70% of the archery deer are killed with crossbows.
Your base is people who hunt, not what they can afford. We watch you because you get just as excited over shooting a doe as a buck just like we do. The channel has to progress or it would get stale.
I didn't see that ice coffee???(Haha)...I had a Stryker Katana 360..Swore I would never upgrade.Then I shot the Ravin R9...Never looked back.
Awesome good luck!
Me personally i don't think you have to spend 1000s of dollars on a bow to go go the woods to hunt and enjoy the hunt
To; Whomever made that comment to Rich and the Swat X1,
I believe you need to step back and look at the bigger picture like Rich said in this video. If we as hunters (Compound or Crossbow) do not explore our options as the years pass the evolution of hunting will cease. Resulting in the game we pursue patterning hunters. I see it in AZ where I am a professional hunter or "Guide". 20 years ago, Deer/Elk were harvested at around 20-30 yards with archery equipment with no problem. The Deer and Elk started to realize "Hey if we stay 50-60 yards away and observe we won't lose a member of our heard"! So, hunters tactics evolved with modern equipment there is a lot of hunters making an attempt to harvest deer at LOOOONGER distances (80-100 yards) is it for everyone? No. Should you "Take That Shot?" that's a question only that can be answered by the shooter, they're the ones that have to live with the consequences of that action (but I don't recommend it). With that the Deer and Elk have evolved by staying further away yet again! Rich hasn't got away from his roots whatso ever, he works hard, has a family, he and Bunjie have become as regular in my home as the 6 O'Clock news, and he sacrifices takes his time to provide ALL hunters education videos or view points that he has found about crossbows, crossbow accessories, and hunting tactics that help and entertain so many. So for you to call Rich out in such a manor about the equipment that he purchased with his own money is disheartening, because you've missed the message entirely.
Rich, Bunjie, bunji jr., Bunjie the 3rd and SwatX1, keep it up please the Crossbow and hunting community need you
💯❤️
I want sweaty food plot videos! When are they coming?
As soon as I get over this poison ivy! 😁🤣😂
@@Deathbybunjie😂
So I watched it the second time, only then, didi I realize, you put flames to my ass. Pretty funny, pretty funny...
By your own admission, you had ex amount of followers, then decided you wanted to up that, probably shouldn't comment about why. But it tells you people were happy with what you were putting out. But as most people, more is better. So you changed your tune a little bit. Or maybe more, to some. Just saying, staying with the theme. Lol. You're a hell of a character, your off the wall humor / disposition/ goofiness/straightforwardness, is kind of unmatched, when putting out your type of content. No doubt we all appreciate it.😊. Pretty sure, I hit a nerve, and I know you felt it, or you wouldn't have addressed it.😮. Nor set my ass on fire🔥😢😅.
Anyways, you have steered of course a bit. And I don't feel this is the time, place to get into a pissing match, nore a he said / she said, type of thing. Always enjoy most of your stuff. As you know. You can go back, to what I have said, in the past, same thing holds true today. Best if we shoot each other an email. No hard feelings my friend.😊
Appreciate what you do for the sport, and All the effort / dedication/video /content You make available. 😏
Don't give yourself too much credit LOL I only used your comment because it was the most recent one, no hard feelings, I'm glad you're sticking around
I was a bad influence on you Rich! Sorry!😂
I bought the swat (from wyvern) because I saw Rich using it and I know he vets gear like crazy. I’m also switching from rage to 3” swhackers. I bought arrows from AJ after seeing some of your posts on xbow nation before rich got his lol. Same reaper shafts with different wraps and man they are super accurate flying like darts out of the swat. Anyway thanks to you and Rich for all the information. I want you guys to know your info goes to good use!
😁
@@rjs6215lol horrible of you One eye just horrible hahahahhaahah.
Gotta have thick skin to be on social media. ha. Lots of good topics discussed here. Keep crossbow-ing...
Try a longbow. You will be more fulfilled. I have an Excalibur. It sits in the rafters for when I can mo longer draw a bow.
I might as well just get a spear LOL
man honestly this day and age ya stuffs is expensive but on the flip side this day and age you can do payment plans and make expensive items more affordable. so i think peeps are just overreacting for nothing hell i got a burris hell got two of em even. Affirms a awsome App people just get on board lol
You don't need to spend a fortune on a crossbow.Alot of the cheaper ones do have really decent accuracy.I have a ravin r10 and won't spend anymore money than that no matter what!.I think this one was $1300.Super accurate!.I don't see the sense in a 3 or $4,000 crossbow.
That R10 is a killer for sure...tried true and tested 100%
Technology is great but Oracle is way out of my price range , my Axiom just keeps chugging along.
That is a new piece of technology that's for sure, and pricey! But you can get them for $500 if you shop around, used, and they have a lifetime forever warranty so they'll give you a new one if it breaks down. Pretty good deal. Eventually these things will become commonplace.
How dare you upgrade your equipment!! Death by Bunjie!?!? More like Death by Technology
😅
@@Deathbybunjie hahaha I enjoy your videos. Keep it up👍
@@ryand5313 hahahaha.
I get kicked daily for allegedly using "obsolete" equipment. Doesn't seem to make any difference I have been doing this for 42 years and have my long time favorites. Not sure what this new wave of people thinking and acting like anything that came out more than a year or two ago is junk.. but whatever. They discredit everything because I'm not onboard with the current "trends". It actually makes a lot of people mad too because I won't switch or rollover....strange.
I was hearing that same line for nearly a decade about the OB. And then I tried Genevieve's crossbow, Bunjie, Jr., and realized, "Hey, maybe they're right..." There is so much out there in the crossbow world, we don't need to use it all but trying out some of the fun stuff here and there is definitely worth it.
@@Deathbybunjie
I buy new stuff all the time too but I don't let go of my OBs either. 🙂
I'm sorry Rick but I remember a time when you first come out bungee was it bungee was the best crossbow that you could ever buy or ever need you said if it's not broke don't fix it and now you went totally opposite of everything that you said first you said fixed heads only now you're using Mechanicals then you said no cams you got to you got to stick with that Excalibur because of the timing of cams now you're shooting crossbow that have cams we all still love you Rick but you totally flip flop from the way you used to be and the way you looked at things cuz I don't know how many times I said Rick why are you still shooting that old crossbow why are you putting all that money into that old crossbow when there's better crossbows out there I guess now you've seen the light good luck this year
Did you watch this? 😆
Don’t listen to them , it’s called evolution,
💯
If it was killing deer for u 20 years ago then it still kills deer the same way and the deer didnt change ...
400 fps does 20 yards better than 300 fps does.
@@Deathbybunjiethat would be obvious no Brainer , guess you missed the message again ... thats why people say u forgot where u started and now you act as if the budget stuff want kill a deer as effective as this new faster equipment that all cant afford like yourself... I can assure u inside 40 yards I can kill a deer just as effective & efficient with a Centerpoint sniper 370 as you can with your killer instinct 405 + !
@@Deathbybunjie never said anything about fps but that's all u are stuck on I can see ...
@@Deathbybunjie FYI: a budget scope also works for the same purpose as a digital rangefinder scope like u have ... I can kill the same deer as you with a budget scope as you can with your digital rangefinder scope ... YOUR MOTO SHOULD BE KNOW YOUR EQUIPMENT AND WHAT IT IS CAPABLE OF AND PRACTICE !
@@Deathbybunjie I kill deer with a slingbow made by chief A.J.'s , The ELITE SLING BOW so it's not about FPS !
how about improving your skills forward you ever thought of that, and not the eagerness to hunt at 40-60 yards, is putting a feeder and sitting 15 yards away is that really hunting i would say its more like target shooting
I've spent countless hours scouting public land this year, and several years going back geez...

@@sphinxios every style of hunting is hunting.
Some places don’t allow food plots or bait others do some don’t allow lures and attractants others do, if you follow the rules and get food on the table why does it matter. We have always used things to make it so we had an easier time.
By your logic nothing is hunting unless you are using your bare hands because even a spear was made for killing an animal easier.
@@chrisruzsa2798 Sounds lots of you didnt like my comment, why i wonder because it got you good didnt it. Hunting is suppose to be a sort of sport isnt it, waiting at a baited area is no sport you are just waiting for the first opportunity to shoot when a hungry animal comes and wants to feed thats killing not hunting, see what the definition of hunt is and it will clear things up for you. And then you complain when an animal hears the string go "thump", thats why they got radar ears thats goes all over the place that can almost hear a mouse piss on cotton. When the manufacturers will be able to make an arrow go faster than the sounds most problems will be eliminated. p.s. There is lots of talk about getting better gear but not so much at improving the skill itself. I used to be a very good at shooting a 10m, you know why its beacuse i did it 4 times a week sessions lasting from 30-90min depending on the mood for that day doing 98-100's
@@sphinxios no it’s not a sport of sorts, anything that involves taking of life is not a sport. Foot ball is sport hunting is many things but not a sport. It’s for food. Especially in today’s economy where people pick between rent or meat.
Great video I know my Barnett recruit terrain would go rt thu a bear. I would diffenley use it on a bear hunt heck I would use it on a elk hunt. In my dreams.🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌
Crossbows gets everyone into hunting and that’s a good thing
