2008. 12 years old. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was just your average kid, watching videos on an old website I used to frequent. On December 6th, the holidays were in full swing. Christmas parades were going on and the vacation was about to start. I got on my computer and noticed someone I hadn’t really seen before on the website. They were reviewing a comic about a trucker superhero named US-1. My curiosity led me to click on the video. That one click would turn me into a viewer of this show for the entire 15 years it has been around. Throughout this course of 15 years, I’ve gained new perspectives on both the good and the bad of comics as well as had many, many laugh filled nights. It led me to seek out good comics(and admittedly, on some sadomasochistic occasions, bad comics) and really get invested in the worlds and stories created by so many talented individuals. I am now 27 years old and I’m still here. Watching Linkara’s reviews and enjoying every minute of them. From the rabid beat downs of pseudo science and “great” continuity to the storylines that he himself made. Not sure you’ll see this, Lewis, but thank you for always being there. It’s been an absolute blast to watch your show for the last 15 years and I can’t wait to see what comes next. Here’s to you. ~Stay Awesome, sir.

Licensed comics are still a thing nowadays, but you don't get the kind of oddballs this, or Air Warriors, etc that permeated the 80s and 90s. And I think, in the world moving on, we've kind of lost something special. This was, as you remind us, a tie-in for slot car racing toys. But out of that we got a grand adventure unlike any other that hadn't been seen before- or since- in comics.
We'll meet US Archer on the road again someday....

Fun fact: those who were on Facebook in the early-to-mid 2010s will remember a browser turn-based RPG called Marvel: Avengers Alliance, which blended in comic and movie versions of the characters into a simple yet unique story. The devs had a message board where people could submit their ideas for characters and their moveset. I grew up with the She-Hulk comics where US-1 guested, so i actually did created something for him, and a few people told me it wasn't that bad. Sadly it never got integrated and the game shutted down around 2016 (with a depressing ending to boot, poor bastards got their universe annihilated due to incursions), but i still had a lot of fun, and coming back to these reviews it was interesting to see the origins of the character and the fact that it was even a tie-in.
I really hope US-1 will return properly one day, so far his most recent appearances have been him proposing as a babysitter for Luke Cage and Jessica Jones' daughter and having a weird team-up with Deadpool for a one-shot. Better than nothing i suppose.

I look forward to the next part of the story, wherein U.S. becomes a space racecar driver and helps Retread defuse the deadly space bombs of the elusive intergalactic Robert Denby. 10-7 good buddy.

Some say it's the end of the road, others will say keep on trucking. But either way, I really enjoyed the ride! Thank you Linkara for showing us the wacky world of US-1.

Another long mainstay of ATFW ends. It feels like we've gone through a ton of changes with Linkara and we've seen the growth of everything that they've done. We've passed the Tandy Computer Wiz Kids. We've seen more Super Sentai and Power Rangers over the years. Marvel has been ended and Trouble is no more for us to laugh at. It feels like the end of an era.
Thank God because suffering through garbage comics for a job must be hell for our dear Mr. Lovhaug. Being on your couch for a job reading comics that can only do well as toilet paper in some cases is a profession that most of us wouldn't be even slightly willing to take on! Yet here we are, watching him get though another disaster in media. My metaphorical hat is off to you for yet another ending to another book we're happy doesn't have to continue!

19:25 Let’s hope that the Contest of Champions will end later this year or sometime next year so that we could see other upcoming storylines from AT4W (i.e. Doomsayer, Mechakara and Mirror Margaret, mysterious guy with the multiversal devise from the Halloween storylines since 2020, etc.).

Feel like there were a few missed joke opportunities by not comparing Jeff's moon crash to Comicron 1, and the "Woo! I'm a delivery boy!" clip from Futurama's pilot episode.

It is bittersweet this series coming to an end since these were some of my favorite reviews by Linkara.
I liked he added the personal touch of a personal retrospective showing what this book meant to him after, and because, all the radio lingo, absurd truck tech, aliens and even a cameo of the ancient one..this was a great review that really shows the best of Atop The 4th Wall. A deep knowledge of the comics language, sense of humor at the absurd jokes and heart. All the qualities Linkara attributes to the comic can be easily directed to his own show except, so far, trucker races is

The end of the greatest truck driving superhero's run. It has been a real treat. Just waiting for a Marvel tv show or movie to bring him back for mainstream audiences, bonus points if he gets a crossover with Brute Force
