some points to the knight templar: the black or brown coat is for non nobel fighters and not for fighters on time. These would wear the basic equipment of a lifetime knight. Also the rules of the knight templar based on the rules of St. Benedict, so no one is allowed to marry. Exception maybe the knights for time. The red cross wasent earned, it was the basic sign for the order and all fighter and nonfighter wear it from the start.

Agree. The winged Hussars and the Normans were different eras, but i think the results speak for themselves.
The hussars did less conquering, but had some major defensive victories against top notch foreign threats.
Normans conquered England, italy, sicily, and comprised the bulk of the templars and crusaders. Including the teutonic knights.
But vikings mixed with french knights was first the dominant cavalry force in the EU, but also were elite dismounted infantry.

They are. Going back, the continental area of present day France, as well as the entire present day British iles, were Celtic. The language and culture differed somewhat between the islanders and those on the continent, but you can also see the similarities.
France was called Gaul, and they spoke Gaulic (Gaelic) during Roman times.
By the time of the Crusades, however, those continental Celts, were now part of the Frankish empire- and eventually, France, more as we know it.
In her memoirs, Anna Comnena, daughter to the Byzantine Emperor, refers to the Norman’s and other French crusaders as “the kelts”. She was not wrong to do so, she was just several hundred years late in her understanding of these people.

Knights, Samurai, Ninja, and other specialized warrior classes are very specific and highly misunderstood. These were elite forces, and unique to specific time periods and paradigms. 75% of those we call Knights or Samurai, were neither. Generally ninja even more exclusive and espionage specialists, suited to adapt to all situations, originating from farming communities, often in the mountains and hill country.

My vote is the band that Jan Zizka lead to battle.
Considering he was 50 yrs solid of fighting and never lost a single battle. Even with 4 to 1 odd or greater. Dude basically invented armor vechile warfare, he used heavily fortified battle wagons and early style guns with different styles of pole arms. Would totally wreck anyone who went againat him.

Knowing if written down in a book is not much more true than a told story! So dont underestamet this kind of cultures! And barbarian just meant foreigners-nothing more! The difference in figthing was that the celtics belive in rebiirth to a better live when dying brave on a fight! The Romans didnt belive in rebirth-so they feared much more figthing!
