Without that jacket and left with just the sleeveless Studio 54 top, he could be the first in Mego's new line of Chippendale action figures...with a special appearance by MEGO MARTY!!!!
Cool review! I'm probably not going to add this particular figure to my collection but I will be getting the Gene Wilder Young Frankenstein for sure. Thanks for the video!👍
Another great video, I`m happy your doing 3 weeks of Mego, Theres really no other Toy out there that excites me at this time except I`ve noticed a re surge of these old vintage Marvel Classic cover figures by Toy Biz being sold on Ebay I believe these figures came out in the 90`s and have amazingly sculpted small heads and exaggerated hands and feet much like the drawings of the old Marvel classics , I had bought one then got addicted to them and bought a whole bunch more. The sad thing is I can`t find any information on them on RUclips or any where else like as if their totally ignored. Most have cloth clothing uniforms much like the Megos and are a little wider and taller then the Megos. My only gripe with these figures is that they appear so old in the box that they are left so long in the box that a sticky residue develops on the rubber and plastic pieces and pleather-like vinyl deteriorates and becomes brittle on some of these still in the box because of no ventilation and being in there for so long and in different environments. Maybe you can research these and do a whole show on them, I`m certain you will love them as well.
Oh I know those figures pretty well. I even had a few of them years ago when they were coming out. I specifically remember having Doctor Doom and yeah that figure was awesome. It's too bad the soft goods materials on these figures have deteriorated like they have. Despite what a lot of collectors think, figures like these aren't made to be kept in the box or on card long term. The ideal care for these figures is more like you would for a doll. Since most collectors treat these like traditional all plastic action figures, or paper goods comics, you run into sticky, stinky, stained, stuff that was essentially wasted in the box. Thanks again for checking out the review.
The price will go up on these and the shit will remain. Quality has nothing to do with nuMEGO! However I can very much appreciate many of the head sculpts that have been done.
At least these were relatively cheap. If I were to buy a Gene Wilder custom head online, it would cost significantly more than this did. So despite the quality issues, buying these at retail was worth it.
@@DanClassic Absolutely! The quality control and simple ideas of not being thought out is what makes nuMEGO special in its own way. It gives then a special quality. The good thing is that the couple folks who do the head sculpts are awesome. It is hard for nuMEGO to mess that up. But I am still confused with why the Star Trek Bones sculpt came out as it did.
You actually like that movie? I like Burton, Depp, and pretty much everyone involved but I find that movie to have missed the mark, and so did Gene Wilder.
@@DanClassic It's the version I grew up with, but I found the set design incredible, Danny Elfman's score, and I think it just has so much more heart than Burton's other remakes like Alice in Wonderland. I do love both movies though. It's also important to consider that it's not really a remake of the Gene Wilder version, Tim Burton instructed the screenwriter to ignore the 70s film entirely and focus on making another adaptation of the book.
You gotta use your Pure Imagination if you want to see the cane in his hand
Lol guess so
Riddles? for 8" figures are apparently either very dangerous or expensive. Remember The Riddler?

Thanks for watching! If only for a great Gene Wilder sculpt, this figure was well worth it.

It’s okay, I forgive you for the slander against 2005’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
