Great! I hope it's as helpful to you as it has been for me! I really do use my belt on almost every shoot, it's been a lifesaver.

Hi Dustin, I’ve been doing videography and am shooting some events over the next few days. My current way of carrying gear is: a Oakley fanny pack, a Peter McKinnon 9L sling bag. I’ve been strapping my tripod under the McKinnon sling bag and then I use a hybrid type of camera/ DSLR and also wear that around my neck. I’ve been trying to find something to make my life a lot easier. Would you recommend this setup for me as well, or would you recommend some other type of bags to add to the belt? Also, do you know if I’d be able to attach the tripod to the belt as well? Sometimes I also have the time to sit down during events. Your system seems like all I’d have to do is loosen the belt buckle or take it off and I’d be good. Whatever type of advice you could give me is very much appreciated and valued…
    Thanks buddy

Hi Tye, thanks for the comment. A belt setup can certainly make it handier to carry many items and shift some weight from your neck to your hips, which will help prolong your career and health. Think Tank Photo makes an excellent assortment of pouches, bags and belts that can help facilitate those needs. Others do as well, but that may be a good place to start. My setup has a few Think Tank Photo pouches on it, so I do recommend their products. Additionally you may consider a monopod to lighten your load, but if you need the stability of a full tripod for interviews or leaving your camera unattended then that may not be an option for you.
