- For this week’s video, I thought I would talk about gear and most specifically how I carry my camera..,or even cameras. That is right because sometimes I carry two bodies when I go on my daily walk. I have evolved through the years and I want to show you the best system for me and explain why I use such a system. And spoiler alert, it is not just one system! But a combination of two brands to make the perfect fit for my wildlife and macro photography. #peakdesign #olympus #omsystem #gear #bag #bagreview #photo #photographer #thinktank #Ruthirsty? #captureclip #peak design capture clip

Thank you for this great video! I finally found the right product for me, but now the clip adapter is no longer available! Really a pity! If you have an alternative, let me know!
Thank you for the great video!
I'm carry my Olympus EM5 camera plus 70-300mm lens with my sling bag. It's so compact. Great sharing video. Big LIKE for you. Happy birding.
Thanks! WHat sling bag do you use?
G'day from Australia 🇦🇺 I think it looks pretty good too (Oulala) 😊
G'day Emilie, have you ever used or considered using Cotton Carrier system? I think their Sling Belt would work really well for you as an alternative to your Spider / Think Tank set up. I love their harness and 'Skout' for my purposes especially the Skout in tandem with the Sling Belt particularly where I live (Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺) That set up suits me perfectly for the 9 month summers we have here in the Great South East of Queensland.
I am about to try / test out Peak Design's Capture together with their brand new 'Micro Clutch' hand grip for my Fujifilm XT / XH bodies. Anyway take care lovely, get out there and shoot. I am about ro go watch my Brisbane Lions / National Australian Football Team (check out their theme song, I think you frogs stole it for your National Anthem!)
You are so persuasive! I have ordered all three components so I can carry my 300 f4 and my 8-25 f4 with ease (hopefully!) and not strain my neck and back either. I'm forward planning for a trip to Sri Lanka in Jan 23, so need to practice it all well before then. And hopefully my OMD 1 will arrive well before then too!!! Thank you for your advice and very clear video instructions.
Happy to help! Let me know how you like this system and don't hesitate if you have any questions
I use the Think Tank Change Up v2, usually in front-wearing mode. Everything is in front of me, which is good for both accessibility and security (think traveling). And it can also server at sort of a platform that I can lean my arms against if I really need to stabilise myself for shooting in low light. The only downside for me is the lack of modularity; if I climb a mountain, I might not want to bring this fairly wide bag. So I'm actually looking at the Think Tank modular belt system. But I hope that I can use the belt in a similar way to my current Change Up: attach straps in an X-shape and wear it from my shoulders, with the buckle in the back, and sitting a bit higher up than on my waist.
For camera gear I use a Nikon D750 and 18-35, 24-120 and 100-400 as my default lens set.
Thank you that,’s perfect. 😇
Glad it is helpful
Right now I am trying to figure out what the best carry system is for me. Like you I have issues with my neck and shoulders so trying to get the weight off that area. I just got the BlackRapid Nicole strap and I am in LOVE! I also just got the Peak Design sling and need to see how that fits. I tried the Spider Holster but it was not working for me.... not sure if I can make the Peak Design one work with BlackRapid.... still testing! But great to see your system, it is quite unusual and more along the lines of what I need.
Thank you for your comment and for sharing. I look at the BlackRapid Nicole Strap but too heavy for me on my shoulders with the uneven weight distribution, unfortunately. My shoulders are really a mess! It is too bad because it is a great system!
That’s a great setup. I like to carry two cameras so I think I’ll give it a go. I already have a PD bag and clips. It’s nice to know it all works well together.
Yes It is as if there were made to work with each other. It really helps carrying this bag as a Fanny pack.
@@EmilieT I just bought the belt and camera clip adapter but it looks like they don’t sell the RU Thirsty anymore, too bad. The camera clip adapter is no longer available most places but luckily I found one at Thinktank Canada. Looks like Thinktank is discontinuing it too. I’m going to try using a peak design pro pad on the Thinktank belt for my small camera and carry my EM1 iii with the 300 pro using the bigger Thinktank camera clip adapter. It all should work well. Thanks again for the tips. BTW I tried using the belt on my PD bag with two PD clips attached to carry my cameras but the belt is too soft and flimsy and my heavier cameras moved around too much (for anyone else wondering if that works). I’m looking forward to the heavy duty Thinktank belt.
@@kmcsmart it really is too bad Think Tank is not making this pad anymore. It works so well!
I’ve been a hip pack guy for a few years now. Since I only use smaller lenses like the F4 zooms and a 20 f1.4 I get away with a simple Sierra Design pack with water bottle holder. Totally inconspicuous and $20 at Target.
Oh thanks. I will check this one out! Always fun to see what everybody uses.
hi emilie, great video!! i'd like to ask if there's a reason for you to choose the slim over the pro speed or steroid belt from thinktank? thanks!!
Great question. I wanted something small that is why I picked this belt
Hi Emilie, thank you for your explantion on how you carry your gear. Any idea where I can find that Clip adapter? Seems like it's not made anymore :(
Looks like a nice setup! It would be helpful to have links to the products you mentioned. Thanks!
Hi David. I just added the links to the description of the video. Thank you for your feedback!
I love your solution for carrying your gear! Do you think the clip system would work for a 150-600mm lense? Or would that be too long/heavy?
Might be a little to heavy and one issue is that since my video the product has been discontinued…which is really too bad because it is a great product.
Fabulous informative video, thanks. Just about to buy this lens to go on my OM1. It's about the same weight and size as my current Canon set up, which I usually carry with my Peak Design strap across my body, but this looks better. I shall look into it! Newly subscribed 🙂
Thank you for the subscription! Glad to hear it is helpful. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
@@EmilieT Hi. I've bought the belt and clip today, but forgot about the adaptor. Unfortunately this seems to have been discontinued. Any ideas how to get round this? Hopefully I can still use them somehow. I might contact Think Tank if I can.
@@Bassbarbie You should definitely contact Think Tank. a shame this was discounted. Another option is the peak design adapter. Same principal but not as padded.
The item from peakdesign is actually called a pro pad but it is not as comfortable or padded as peakdesign: market.peakdesign.com/collections/all/products/propad
@@EmilieT Brilliant, thank you 😊
Ah bonne question. Je n'ai pas d'accessoires Molle. Quels accessoires utilisez-vous?
FYI the Thin Skin belt (v2) does not work with the Peakdesign 3L Everyday Sling. I wanted and bought the smaller 3L bag, but you cannot run the belt through the 3L sling's back opening :(
Good to know. I own the 6L and 10L and had no issues but I imagine the 3l might be too small. Great bag though.
@@EmilieT Just an update :) With much effort I was able to force the belt through the 3L bag opening. So I feel the 3L bag works with the belt only if you are okay with leaving it on the belt all the time, which I plan on trying out for now. It requires too much effort to run the belt through (or remove it from) the tight bag opening, to do it regularly. Have a nice day!
I started to have problems at my back so I'm thinking to change the way to carry my equipment from backpack to a belt system. Thank for the tips! Ps does anybody have experience with molle system military jackets?
Thinktank discontinued the capture clip adapter. Do you have any other options to attach a spider or peak design clip?
You might be able to find it on eBay. Otherwise peak design has something similar called Pro Pad but it is not as comfortable.
Thank you Emilie :-)
Bonjour, j'ai pas compris comment vous attachez le sac Peak Design à la ceinture? Merci beaucoup
Il faut passer la ceinture dans l’ouverture derrière le sac peak design.
The link to the Think Tank camera clip adaptor doesn't work and I can't find it on their site so maybe they don't make it any more.
Maybe they are out of stock? Adorama, B&H and probably local camera stores have them in stock right now.
Ca me plairait bien d'avoir ça.
@@laurentyarp514 Ah oui! C'est vraiment pratique! Je l'utilise assez souvent d'ailleurs.
What did you think of think of the thicker/padded belt?
I love it much more comfortable
Française ?
Oui
