Is thisfrom the manga? I loved the getter series eversince first watching neo getter vs shin getter. I always use them and the Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger Variants. Even in SRW D, so agonizing yet so fulfilling.
I'm glad this series stuck with 2D animation and just kept making it more beautiful. I always wondered what it would have been like if Fire Emblem went this route, instead of going from the beautiful GBA sprite animations to the ugly ass CG animations they've had since the gamecube.
I disagree with your sentiment about FE. While it would be more amazing if each character had their own attack animations for themselves, it is simply not worth spending that much money for all characters when they all have overlapping weapon types and etc. If they made each attack have their characters' personality expressed through how they attack, it would cost more and will be easier to be ignored by more casual fans. Not to mention how much more it would cost to animate the different weapons in FE. Even if they added something like SRW OG's custom weapon arsenals, that would undercut the personality expression in attack as they would most likely share animations for these generic weapons. Then this would mean certain weapons have original animation for certain characters. It is simply more economical for the new FE games to be 3D CG as opposed to SRW where each mecha has to get a certain degree of care to respect the original franchises. Not to mention SRW's ability to reuse old animations with some minor touch ups to save money on recurring mecha series
SRW did go to 3d CG for the OGs series, and it still looks amazing, the animation issues come down not to the type of animation, but how its used, in particular the lack of good flourishes on the CG until roughly Fates and Echoes left it feeling lacking compared to GBA animations for FE
Wasnt Super Robot Wars OE a thing on psp? it was fun but weird, last I saw it only had a menu translation. The CG was decent also, a good experiment but Im also happy they didnt stick to it

You know, I was always troubled by the plot hole regarding the fact that Daisetsuzan Oroshi is Musashi's personal technique, he should have died without teaching it to anyone so why is it that Benkei knows it. Spoilers, in the manga he died without using it if I recall.
Nikholai Johann Mateo well at least in this storyline Musashi and Benkei actually met and worked together so it was possible for him to learn it before Musashi died.

Will we ever see New Getter's Getter Robo ever again? I preferred that iteration of the Getter team over Armageddon's. Everyone was really laid back and humorous, but went totally insane in the heat of battle.
Its funny cause after Shin Mazinger Z anime came out I though they need to put both New Getter & Shin Mazinger in a game and have a team attack with full power Getter beam/Photonic Beam
Armageddon's team is in no way the manga team - Ryoma, for instance, takes design and a lot of his attitude from an entirely different Ishikawa manga (because Armageddon had a LOT of those. That's where Cohen and Stinger came from.) It's really unfortunate that not only has New Getter never been done well - fuck you too Neo - but despite Banpresto's current unfiltered Ryomawanking, they don't use the series that would let them freely do that.
Haven't they been Armageddon for the last decade at this point? I mean, it's cool, but I really want Neo to be done properly, Arc has never been done before, New was in one of the games for the WII and was out of place, and the new DEVOLUTION Getter could be cool. But nooooo, it's Shin for the 100th time. There's not even a Getter rep in X, but at least Mazinkaiser's back.
THE END Armageddon's Shin Getter has never done it alone but W was the last SRW where Shin Getter could do it but that was more or lessa mix of manga Shin Getter with the anime Ryoma, Hayato and Benkei.
Agreed, i think they only used New Getter Robo once and i think there are a few mangas with Getters that never appeared in SRW, Getter Robo Arc is a manga one that is stronger than Shin Getter(though the magazine publishing it got cancelled and thus the story ended too soon without Arc showing all of it's attacks so this one would be tricky), Getter Robo Hien has a new team and new enemy alongside a Getter that was built by Hayato and that could be interesting, there is Getter Robo Darkness but that one just tries way too hard at being edgy and cool. There is also the ongoing Getter Robo Devolution manga, but since it's not over yet it can't be used, which is sad, as the villain is a being that actually managed to hurt Getter Emperor, goes around the multiverse defeating Getters and brainwashing them, and the main characters have to fight, defeat and kill brainwashed Getter teams and their robots, with things like two Getter-3's fighting underwater...God damnit, i hope Devolution gets picked for SRW after it ends. But for now, New Getter Robo has only had one appearance so that one would be fun to see again, otherwise Getter Robo Hien that hasn't appeared outside of it's manga and since it has all new members for the team and all new enemies with a different robot i feel like Hien would be pretty awesome and fun.
Actually, Devolution's true villain seems to be the Emperor itself. The supposed "brainwashed Getters" are actually life forms that copy the form of the Getter, in an attempt to evolve. They don't have any pilots as far as I know. The main Getter of the story also has a piece of the Getter Emperor as its core. ...There's a giant Emperor looming over the world, but then Saotome reveals it isn't really there - it's just a hologram of sorts, while the actual Emperor is on its way through the multiverse to destroy the world.
When Getter Emperor actually does something, i think the most it did was combine in the mangas, otherwise it just stands there with people just looking at it and feeling it's sheer power. They would have to create a whole new storyline and come up with attacks for it. Well...the newest manga, Getter Robo Devolution, has Getter Emperor being part of the story, with a fragment of it falling on one Earth implying that there is one being in the multiverse that is actually able to hurt Getter Emperor, and there are forces going around the multiverse defeating Getter Robos and adding them to their army, with Devolution featuring Getter Robo VS Getter Robo battles. But Devolution is still ongoing and i don't think SRW has ever done Getter Robo manga before, so the only series where it looks like Emperor will do something will happen to be one of those that won't be adapted anyways.

Yea, both SRW OG Moon dwellers and SRW V are the 25th anniversary games so they did in house translations. Most likely other games coming out of Bandai Namco are going to come out in engrish but not sold in NA, only import. Heck I didn't even know of Gundam Breaker 3 was in engrish till like a year after lol
I like the look of this Stoner Sunshine, but after watching a few more attack compilations, I realized I prefer Akira Kamiya's original scream - it's longer, more dynamic and sounds even more pissed than Ishikawa's Ryoma. ...It's funny, I usually really like Ishikawa, but somehow Kamiya's Ryoma just sounds a lot better. (And this is coming from someone who's never watched any of the series, so I lack the nostalgia glasses.) It's the other way around with Kouji - I prefer his Shin voice actor since the original's high-pitched voice just sounds comical (all I hear is Apachai Hopachai).
The way Shin Getter's wings move is still one of my favorite pieces of mecha animation

You can always play emperor in srw x with mazinkaiser. Here in V you get zero.

When Getter Emperor actually does something, i think the most it did was combine in the mangas, otherwise it just stands there with people just looking at it and feeling it's sheer power.
They would have to create a whole new storyline and come up with attacks for it.
Well...the newest manga, Getter Robo Devolution, has Getter Emperor being part of the story, with a fragment of it falling on one Earth implying that there is one being in the multiverse that is actually able to hurt Getter Emperor, and there are forces going around the multiverse defeating Getter Robos and adding them to their army, with Devolution featuring Getter Robo VS Getter Robo battles.
But Devolution is still ongoing and i don't think SRW has ever done Getter Robo manga before, so the only series where it looks like Emperor will do something will happen to be one of those that won't be adapted anyways.
They did exactly once, I think. Shin Super Robot Wars has the Manga Getter team and Shin Getter, but other wise I don't think so.
Probably next 2nd SRW V. The boss is too easy with only 200k hp. Which definitely not like the usual final bosses.

Yea, both SRW OG Moon dwellers and SRW V are the 25th anniversary games so they did in house translations. Most likely other games coming out of Bandai Namco are going to come out in engrish but not sold in NA, only import. Heck I didn't even know of Gundam Breaker 3 was in engrish till like a year after lol

I like the look of this Stoner Sunshine, but after watching a few more attack compilations, I realized I prefer Akira Kamiya's original scream - it's longer, more dynamic and sounds even more pissed than Ishikawa's Ryoma. ...It's funny, I usually really like Ishikawa, but somehow Kamiya's Ryoma just sounds a lot better. (And this is coming from someone who's never watched any of the series, so I lack the nostalgia glasses.)
It's the other way around with Kouji - I prefer his Shin voice actor since the original's high-pitched voice just sounds comical (all I hear is Apachai Hopachai).
