You can tell some are new at the game of love......they take their time getting out of the trailers....walk slowly into the field...😊 Where as the old timers...run and slide coming out of the trailers....run to the field ....making noise all the way ...to let the girls know....." l'm home honey.". 😁 Thanks for sharing. 🍃🕊🇺🇸
I just keep watching these videos over and over. I’ve always love the Hereford cattle with that dark red coat and the beautiful white curly faces. They are such outstanding creatures.
Those 2 year olds......can someone give them "the talk???" Lol - that first 2 year old looked scared to death! I know he's not, but that looking back got me! Lol - great looking animals all! Thanks for sharing and good luck on the outcomes!!!
After 9 or 10 months on vacation.. Time to go to work!!! Always a good day when the bulls go out! As always, good looking cattle!!! Thanks for the video!
SO good, the respect you always have for the beasts. No beating and kicking, just your commands to them, and then they glance back at you 😊 Bless you all
Duane, I have been watching your videos here and there for over a year. I've also been watching a tow truck operator out of Missouri that has his own RUclips channel. His name is Ron Pratt, and his handle on here is Rotator Ron. You guys sound virtually IDENTICAL! It's crazy the similarity in your voices, and even style and manner of speaking. Check it out, show a couple friends. Pretty sure everyone will agree. And by the way; I'm a huge fan of your bloodline, as well as your videos. I appreciate you taking the time to continue uploading to your channel. Now go give Ron a listen!!
Awww Man, I've got a fine Hereford bull and an Angus bull in with my cows. Got some of the prettiest babies hitting the ground. I absolutely love your videos, can't beat the scenery. I'm in the south. Keep feeding America, appreciate you guys.
Well they have to fit our visual appraisal and then they must have superior genetics. It is a bunch of things that determine whether they are worthy to use as stud bulls.
Handsome, handsome animals. Obelisk (sp?) is definitely a very able lookin' fella and he seemed to be fairly keen, already on the trail to the ladies. Attaboy! His name is perfect heh, heh, heh.
Dang none of them wanted to act the bull this year!!! I liked last year when that bull gave the old dirty hay pile hell!!! You can tell all your bulls are handled regularly. They didn't freak out at all!
I'm new to your channel and I'm sitting here being watching your videos and omg they are absolutely beautiful like alllll of them and those bulls are stunning. I love how you interact with them beautiful land and beautiful animals 🖤💯🖤
I don't even have the means to keep cattle at the moment, but I wish I could buy one of your magnificent beasts. I wouldn't even want to eat it, just look at how amazing they look! I always like to see videos of your animals. Thanks.
Thank you. I am just videoing our cattle activities throughout the year. We take pride in our operation being managed with progress in efficiency, fertility and performance.
How many acres do you turn the bulls out on with the cows? < looks like a lot saying 8 to 10 > I get a kick out of then trying to get out of the trailer, like a child coming down the stairs. Lol when you do your yell at them to stop. I bet you get awesome honey. As always awesome view Duane. Stay safe & take care of you. Thanks for sharing eh :))
With our 600 producing cows we have 1500 acres of pasture and 1100 acres of hay ground that becomes pasture in the fall with the regrowth. We make 2500 tons of grass hay with one cutting. Our biggest cost is in the pelleted grain for our background feeding operation throughout the winter. We do not raise any grain crops. Our growing season makes it difficult to.
Wow at the size of just the cows alone, never mind how many bulls you have. Oh I can imagine the grain you would go through. Love the size of them well built for sure. Take care eh thanks for the feed back, stay safe eh@@ChandlerHerefords
Do you have a beef or dairy operation, or just raising / selling breeding stock? And how many breeding years do you get out of a bull? You were saying a one ones in his 6th year and reaching the end of his breeding life. I thought they'd go much longer.
The reason for a shorter than expected usable life breeding is due to the EPD thing. EPDs are statistical values based on performance genetically. For us to make marketable calves they need to have leading edge genetics and if their sire (father) is old genetics then the values will be insufficient for marketability. Genetic average values for production traits are always changing because all breeders use them to advance their herds. I hope this was explained clear enough. Bulls can live 25 years or so, but by 10 years they usually are beat up enough that they have a hard time getting around walking breeding etc... Thanks for watching
We do not use dogs much. We had a border collie that was telepathic. Really miss having her help. She was always in the right place at the right time or it just seemed that way. Dogs can abuse their cow pursuit skills and end up with cattle that are heel bitten and sketched out. Our cattle are so chilled out that a dog is almost excessive. Thanks for asking.
I started posting videos in 2007 and did so to bring my cattle to the people. If a potential customer wanted to come to the ranch, but didn't have the time or if it was too far then my videos on youtube made a great advertising and talking point. At that time I had no clue how to get my channel monetized and didn't even know that was possible. I was just happy there was a site I could upload my videos to for free. Ok, so that was a long time ago and now most of my videos are monetized, but back when I got started I had no clue about copyright music or any other concerns that a video producer needs to be concerned with. In answer to your question is very simple. Not all of my videos are monetized...Especially the older ones. Thanks for watching!
Built like the proverbial brick outhouse. Herefords are my all time favorite breed of cattle. They look awesome as usual❤❤❤
Glad you like them!

These Herefords are magnificent looking animals!

I like how they walk out to see the girls! Instead of running!🤣
They’re too chunky to run! It’s adorable
sometimes they run, see older videos
I laughed at the one headed towards the beehives. Hopefully he didn't get hurt too badly

Mighty big bulls! Good looking!

Nice bulls ,nice to see unpolled herefords !

If you don't mind me asking, how much does one of those big monster bulls cost a person wants to buy one
around $5000 for two year olds. These bulls are our studs and they are from $25000 and up

Great to see the next round of herd bulls turned out. I hope they work well for you.
Me too!
So what do you do with the bulls after they've finished their 7, 8 years of breeding? I'm a green horn. Do they just go on to the butcher?
some of them do, but the most impressive ones get to live out their days on the ranch.
Do you have a beef or dairy operation, or just raising / selling breeding stock? And how many breeding years do you get out of a bull? You were saying a one ones in his 6th year and reaching the end of his breeding life. I thought they'd go much longer.

@@ChandlerHerefords That's fascinating. I didn't think they're genetic performance would drop off that quickly with age.
Their genetics do not drop off, rather the newer genetic package in the younger bulls is just better because of genetics better with each generation
@@ChandlerHerefords Really? I wonder if you could sell the only bulls as "seconds" or similar. They must be worth something (other than meat.)
have you considered an australian cattle dog? aka blue heelers

Just a dumb question: do they ever attack you or your helpers?
no our cattle and the Hereford breed are as tame as golden retriever dogs.

Maşallah 🧿
That was about the most boring bull turnout video I've ever seen. Beautiful bulls that's for sure.
Duane any AI in your families operation? Thanks for sharing, be safe in the crazy NW.
Yes we AI 160 head in total. Our best cows and all of the new heifers going into production
How many hectars that field
Most of our pastures are sized to support 30 cows with their calves and a bull to breed them throughout the summer. Approx 40 acres.
@@ChandlerHerefords thank for answer
OMG I love Oblisk
Can you do a calf video of the calves born already
soon to come
@@ChandlerHerefords thank you your videos are awesome not many people in my area have herfords
