Sacrifice is essential and inevitable. There is no greatness without pain.
In years to come, this will be your "The One That Got Away" story.
Every musician has a One That Got Away story. But I got them all beat
In 1983 I was hired for a session at a recording studio in New York City that has long since gone out of business. For the session, I played through a raggedy old Sunn stack they had in the studio. After the session, as I was ready to leave, the owner took me into the studio and turned the amp around,.
Stenciled on the back were words that froze me in my tracks: "Jimi Hendrix Experience. Handle With Care."
My jaw hit the floor. Apparently, Hendrix gave some amps to Leslie West. The guy who owned the studio was a former roadie with Mountain, and got one of them. A year later, I had the chance to buy it when I heard the owner was liquidating his stuff. But, being a penniless and destitute musician trying to survive 80s era New York City (a truly brutal place at the time), I had no money, so I couldn't buy it.
About seven or eight years ago, I learned that somebody bought it for $150,000.
That's my big "The One That Got Away" story.
But, I played out of one of Jimi's amps! Not many can say the same!

Oh my gosh, beautiful instrument. That's quite a sacrifice. What next honors that sacrifice? A risk to be bolder, to reach out to people, to be authentic, to say and do and believe? If you do sell, (which I hope you don't because of the music coming out of that guitar) but if you do sell, open yourself up to what the universe gives you in return for your sacrifice. Accept those gifts.
