The cuff is counterclockwise tighten but the hose is a spiral the whole way so you have to get the proper cuff direction for the end of the hose.

I just checked mine and both end of the hose go counterclockwise. How is that possible?

Hmm not sure, maybe the other end of the hose is counter clockwise?

You were good right up to Gluing the Hose. There is no need on a Screw in hose.

True just put that end inside the skimmer port and it's good

You need to use silicone then screw it on Don't Not Use PVC Glue

I never had an anticlockwise replacement fitting ever ..
