Here is a life changing stamping nail art hack: apply a layer of clear polish over the base color and let it dry for about 30 seconds. This way the base will be a bit tacky and the design will transfer perfectly every time!
Ooh thanks for sharing this trick!!!
I like to use yellow stopper since it dries with a slight tacky finish. I think Maniology sells a sticky top coat for stamping.
Huh, that's interesting. If my base layer is too glossy and/or completely dry, I usually take a buffer block and buff the top layer. And that's always worked for me.
LA colors top and base coat is great for this, it stays tacky for about 10min after trying for 60s. Great if you're a little slow with your transferring and the stamping polish is drying too quickly to stick to your nails :)
I use rubberized base coat to do this. But top coat works too!!
I really liked how you admitted that you hadn't mastered the advanced stamping of make a decal. Its refreshing to hear an experienced individual admit that not everyone needs to do it all perfectly!
Haha oh yes I definitely struggle with lots of types of nail art :P
Yes bc I am STRUGGLING I got this for Mother’s Day and I’m trying to figure it out 😩😂 this is tough so I’m glad you said that😂
That eye make up 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hahah thank youuu
missjaygirl89 her eye makeup is always 🔥
"yes please!" To a stamping nail art video!
Yay okay!!
Yes!! Please make this
Like right now!!! 😍😍
Yes please and thank u!
@@miracleperez747 jjjy boy
I've been stamping since Maniology was called Bundle Monster!
My tip is to make your decals using the silicone mat (instead of painting onto the stamper), that way you can do all 10 at once (and make sure they're perfect), then lift them off and apply to your nails. You may have to trim the decal to make it fit your nail if it's a whole nail design.
I have a tip for advanced stamping, instead of coloring it in and adding top coat to make it into a decal. Let the design completely dry on top of the stamper, and add a sticky base coat to your nails before applying the stamp. I don't remember where I learned this but I could never do advanced stamping when making a decal but I've never had a problem doing it the sticky base coat method. Hope this helped!! 💖
Ooh thanks for sharing!!!
Karmen Moser I do this too!
This is how I do mine as well. I use Orly rubberized base. It stays sticky for a while so you can do multiple stamps on the same nail. It’s great!
Wuuuuut. Sticky base coat.. 😮👍
Kelli Marissa maybe do a video trying out this technique? Galaxy advanced stamping nail art!!!
I’ve never clicked so fast on a YT video in my life! I saw the title and literally said “Yeah!” out loud. 😂
Haha yay! This one is long overdue!
This actually really helped me. I was trying to figure out why my stamping wouldn't work. Well turns out the plate was too cold. Thank you!
"Literally the world is your oyster " I died 😂😂 you're awesome Kelli thx for sharing 💅❤
Haha my favorite phrase 😝 glad you enjoyed!!
@@KelliMarissa haha I'm totally going to use that now lol I went to order your plate and its SOLD OUT 😭
I use dotting tools to color in my stamping designs when I do reverse stamping. I let it dry completely while I use yellow stopper on my nail. Everything transfers perfectly!
Please would you consider doing a video using your french manicure plate? I have one too but I can't seem to figure out how to use it. Love your work.
I love stamping! This is the most used tool in my "toolbox". Just did a pink and gray gradient with black rabbits stamped on them this morning! 😆
Omg I bet it looks amazing!!
That’s sounds so pretty!
I've gone back and watched all your 101 videos and learned so much- Thank you!
Yes! Yes! Do the compilation stamping video!!
Yayyy okay!
@@KelliMarissa woo-to-the-whoo!!!
The timing of this video is so perfect, I just got my first stamping set with plates, a scraper, and a stamp in the mail yesterday and I was going to try it out tonight. Thank you for the tips!
Perfect! I was thinking of trying this type of nail art, but didn’t know how. Thank you!
I really needed this!☺️🙌🏻 Stamping is one of the only thing with nailart that I have a hard time doing, thank you so much for making this video Kelli!💕🤗
A few tips/tricks:
Instead of using nail polish or stamping polish, you can use acrylic paint!
If you do not want to invest in a mat, a ziplock baggie works just as well! I actually reuse mine all the time and it works so well :)
What do you use to get the paint out of the stamping tray? I was wondering if paint might work too 🤔😁
No way!! I just ordered my first stamping plate/tools a couple of days ago - perfect timing! Thanks Kelli x
Such great info! I was very intimidated when stamping first came out, never went back to it. Now I will, thanks!
Really, thank you for the video. I was just about to do my nails for the week when I saw the notification for your video. Maybe it's a sign? I have over 50 stamping plates, but have NEVER been able to stamp a design on my nails properly. Not once, EVER! I gave up trying over a year ago. During this quarantine I said I was going to practice stamping, but I haven't even opened the box that holds all my stamping supplies. I don't remember if I have a clear stamper. I might need to buy one.
I don't remember if I have bought anything from Maniology, but I do remember buying a lot of stuff from them when they were about to change their name from Bundle Monster. All the stuff had the old name, so they had some really great sales in stuff.
Okay, I'm going to stop procrastinating now. 😅 Thanks again for the video and hopefully the next time I try stamping my nails I will have better luck!😊
The big (clear) Pueen stamper available at Walmart is my absolute favorite. Ever since I bought it, I've actually had a hard time finding an image that it couldn't pick up. 10/10 would recommend!
Haha! I seriously feel your pain - I struggled with stamping for so long. I feel like the new stampers are significantly easier to use than the old ones! Maybe try picking up a different stamper and see if it helps!
Thank you for the suggestion! I will check it out!😁
Also a quick tip that have made my life so much easier and I don’t know why a lot of people don’t know about it! Use a water based top coat when you stamp or when you do nail art if you don’t want to smudge your design and after it completely dries, you could apply your favorite top coat. The one I use is from essence cosmetics called “melted chrome” and it’s pretty affordable 💕
The no smudge topcoat is a water based topcoat. :) You can literally stamp it on to keep it from smearing!
Yes the maniology top coat is water based! It's a lifesaver :)
Thanks, Kelli! I just ordered my first stamping supplies at Maniology using your code. So excited to try it out! I look forward to many more stamping videos from you.
I recently bought my first stamping plate and polishes from twinkled t and I've been putting off trying it out. You've reignited my inspiration to use it! 😄
love your nail polish 101!❤️
I'm so happy you like them :)
😍😍😍 amo el stamping 😍
💙💙💙
This is mind blowing- A favorite pastime of mine was rubber stamping on paper and now I can actually do it on my nails! 🙀 like I dreamt of this thing decades ago - so glad someone made it easy and accessible!
And omg I literally just saw your outro rant about how difficult it was to stamp years ago and YES!!! I remember having to file the stamper down, what the heck! And the stampers when they weren’t clear were SO impossible to use!
I've signed up to be notified when your stamping plate will be back in stock on Maniology. It's very cool!
Oh yay I hope it comes back soon!!
Did you snag it?! It's back in stock!! 🙌🏽
Thanks for this! I tried stamping years ago and I couldn't get it to work, recently tried again this winter and I finally got the image to pick up. Having really opaque polish that's meant for stamping seriously helped. It takes some experimenting and practice but it's worth it. I'd love another stamping nail art video!
I feel like stamping polish made SUCH a difference for me!!
I’ve been stamping religiously since January of this year (when I began my natural nail rehab journey) I looove it! It’s sooo fun and simple to do, once u get the hang of it...I found the pueen stamper at WM for $3 and bought a backup because I looove it so much ❤️
This was amazing
I have been painting my nails for almost exactly a year and I've been wanting to get into stamping next
🤟💗💜
Omg remembering nail art a few years ago I always ask myself how the hell I even made it work. Stampers that weren't clear, no nail art matt, using tape around my nails instead of liquid latex... 😂😂
me 2 gurl
I've been waiting for this!! Definitely perfect timing. Thank you 💗 I'm nervous about which plates to buy... there's a bunch on amazon 😬
Definitely read the reviews before you grab any new brand - some are etched deeper than others!
I love stamping! I just got into it like a month ago! Its just so much fun, I would definitely watch videos of you stamping!
Loved your tips Kelli! I really enjoy stamping 💓💓
Once I was pretty much into watching stamping videos, then bought all the stamping supplies. But I realized that it's not as easy as it looked! 😅 I wanted to try layered design, but now I'm happy if one pattern transfers more or less complete to my nail! 😅
It's not real easy at all. I got my supplies, was super excited to try them, and I have yet to have a perfect design transfer.
@@jodibowen5242 I can’t get a design to transfer at all I don’t know what I’m doing wrong
Stamping is so fun. I totally agree with you too. Maniology smudge free top coat...game changer!
It really is!
Absolutely 👍🏻
Loved this tutorial! Would love to see a video compilation of some finished stamping manis. TFS Kelli ❤
I'm getting really into stamping (again?) myself, and I have also fallen in love with Maniology! I just feel like everything works so well!
I will enjoy to watch you trying reverse stamping for the first time.
haha! I've tried it before but I'm far from an expert! I'll have to give it a shot soon.
Great video! My daughter and I love the Sharpie stamping technique. You should look into it! Also, I have found that if I spray some aerosol hairspray on my design and let it dry, I can use my regular top coat (I use gel) without smudging. Just a fun little trick for those who don't have the Maniology No Smudge TC. I'd love to see a nail art video with some of your stamping ideas. Always looking for inspiration!
How cool! I had no idea how fun this could be. Thanks for sharing your insights!
I just watched this video a few days ago and I’m back to say I used your code for maniology!!!! Thank you I can’t wait to start stamping for the first time!
I just got the free starter kit by maniology : ). Can’t wait to start soon...or when I get better at painting nails Hahahah.
7:42 could you use liquid latex around your skin while stamping?
Leeli Wingfeather yes, it’s actually better to use liquid latex when stamping
Yes definitely!!
@@sajanailsart3366 Thanks!
Leeli Wingfeather you can. Though the design is usually fine enough that you can just wash it off with warm water.
@@KelliMarissa By the way thanks so much for keeping all your videos clean. My parents have a lot of restrictions for what I can watch and I really love learning more about nail art, and you're the only person I can watch. Also, I love your personality.
Thank you for all these tips- they really made stamping a lot easier and also you gave me lots of ideas for the future! Can’t wait to get some more stamping plates and start experimenting LOL.
OMG the first stamping plate I bought from Maniology was yours and I didn’t realize it until I watched this video. I now have 15 plates but yours is my favorite. I just started watching you a couple weeks ago. Your videos are so helpful. Thanks so much.
This is so crazy literally an hour before this video was released I was looking on if you had a stamping video lol. Also do you would recommend any nail polish that is easy to stamp with that's not just stamping polish. Id rather get a nail polish that's versatile and comes Ina bigger bottle
There's no one brand of polish that you can say is uniformly good for stamping, because opacities vary wildly within brands. I have found that a lot of my OPI polishes are thick/pigmented enough for stamping, but not all. My recommendation is to invest in stamping polishes for key outline colours (like black and white), then use your more pigmented regular polishes for filling in designs.
@@miss_jess good advice to have one black and one white nail polish specifically made for stamping.
After watching this tutorial (my first of yours) I tried this out. Came out great! Thanks for sharing this. 💅💯🙏
I’ve just recently started stamping my nails and absolutely love it!!
So fun!
This video is giving me motivation to get into stamping again! I’ve been doing nail art for so long and used to experiment with stamping when I first started out and I just could NEVER master it! I think I had a lot of trouble picking up the design with my stamper :( I have this awesome gaming themed maniology plate that I’ve been wanting to utilize forever but I’ve never had the motivation to try it out again! I think I’m gonna try and give it a shot soon 🖤
Very interesting and informative, you answered so many questions I had about stamping. Thank you, Kelli!
I'm so glad to hear it!
And the stamping plates that are designed for layering, such a flowers, that have a stencil for base colour, colour high lights and then outline! I love those ones 😍
Thanks so much. Super helpful video. I have been scared to try stamping and now I feel ready. Placing an order on Maniology today.
This video was incredibly helpful and informative. Thank you so much! I just ordered a bunch of stamping supplies. I can't wait to get started!
I love how excited you are about what I you do in your videos and also how knowledgeable you are. Thx for another great video 😊
I'm so glad you enjoyed it Susan 😁
Yes! Please do a tutorial! My fist maniology kit just came Saturday, I need help 😂
I definitely learned a few things! Thanks!
Your stamping plates design are very nice 😍😍
Oh my gosh, this came at the absolute perfect time! Was looking for some pointers & tips!
Ahh yay I hope its helpful!
Great video for beginners. So much info I didn't know. Love these video!!!
such perfect timing!! i just received my first maniology stamper kit in the mail and I'm so excited!! and yes i'd love to see some stamping nail art it sounds fun!!
Omg you're gonna have so much fun playing with it!
I watched your older stamping video recently before I ordered a bunch of stamping plates and supplies from Amazon. I can't wait for them to start arriving so I can try this. And thank you for this update 😊
Oh man you're gonna have so much fun!!
I'm a huge fan of stamping. Almost every nail art I do is stamping nail art. And reverse stamping is so relaxing, like a color book but with nail polish)))
OK! I’ve thought about stamping for a while. A quarantine is a good time to start! I’d love to see another video on this.
Love Love Love Love your eye look!
would love to see you do more stamping nail art
most stamping tutorials are on long nails and i'd love to see what you can come up with on short nails
I was literally just wishing you would do a stamp art montage, of just a lot of different ones and the. You said it!!
I’m just starting to get into nail art and this was super helpful! Thank you!
Happy to help Erin :)
Omg I love your eye shadow
Yes!!! I'd love to see more stamping. Last September, while under the influence of post surgery narcotics, I bought a kit and it's been collecting dust. You have motivated me! (Those warnings about not purchasing things while you're taking narcotics is so correct. I had my phone set up with one touch pay and the first three weeks after my surgery, I started having packages getting delivered almost every day. Most of it was nail polishes from a bunch of different indie brands. It was like Christmas... Until I got my credit card bill and realized I had charged almost $1,000 while I was on my medication.)
I love your eyeshadow soo much!!!!🤩
Thank you. I am new to doing my own nails. You have given me so much great information and have gotten me excited about nail art stamping❣️❣️🥰
I love to stamp, just did one on my nails this afternoon 😍✨💅🏻
I might just do stamping today too haha!
I love Maniology! They deserve the shout-outs, haha. Excellent products and customer service. I'd heard stories of how tricky stamping could be and got one of their starter kits expecting to not have much success, but it worked without any issues! I've only ever had a problem if I'm too slow and the polish dries on the plate, otherwise they've turned out great. It's a lot of fun and so much less effort for a nice result than a lot of other techniques.
Stamping is my favorite nail art to do on my nails. I watch a lot of compilation videos on RUclips. It’s so relaxing. I would love to see you do a stamping video! I love seeing all the different plates and colors people have and use in their nail art. I have also not perfected the reverse stamping...need more practice. Thanks Kelli! 💜💜
I'll definitely do a stamping compilation!!
I have been wanting to get into reverse stamping for a while. I love the different designs!
I love it too but I feel like I always smudge the original design LOL
Yay! I love the 101 series!! Thanks!
:D so happy to hear it!
Out of all the 'Stamping Know How' vids I watched last night, this is in the top 3.
Thank god I found you Kelli.
MoYou & yourself are the only ones who did the Do's & Don'ts.
No wonder my stamping practice hasn't been coming out so well (I've recently got back in the Nail Game and it's ALL change). I've used Acetone & Hand-wash to clean my jelly stamper. 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Thankfully I have spare Jelly heads.
I'll most definitely try your Tips & Tricks a little later today, and see if they make a difference, as not all the Born Pretty stamp polishes I ordered were working.
Love your makeup!! And I’d love to see how to use regular nail polish for stamping since I can’t go get special stamping polish right now and I’ve already got so many nail polish’s.
Love this Nail Polish 101 video - you have helped me before with stamping and i think this will help lots of others.
I'm glad you think it's a helpful one!! 😄
My favorite decoration technique! Glad you made this video :) I can't wait to share with everyone that asks about my stamped nails
Ooh yay I'm so happy you found it helpful enough to share :)
I want to try nail stamping now hah, very helpful video Kelli ❤️❤️❤️❤️
That pink eyeshadow is everything!
Haha oh thank you!
Kelli, I just have to tell you that you are excellent at doing videos. Very professional. You have really refined the way you present and the editing, too. Well done!
Wow, thank you so much Debbie!
Great video! I've always wondered about stamping and thought of diving in, now you given me no choice lol I already have Twinkle t stamping polish as it's super opaque. Thank you and I believe we all would like more videos on stamping. Stay safe 💅
Oh you gotta give it a try!! It's so fun.
My order of your Starrily polishes came today!! So excited and so pretty!! 💕💕💕 Can’t wait to use them with your stamping plates!
Oh my gosh YAY I hope you love them!!!
Love this series! 💚
Yay thanks Jess :)
Could you do a nail 101 video on how you take pictures of your nails? Tips and tricks to make the best with basic kit? Your photos are always lovely and crisp. Xx
I just subscribed because I love ❤️ your tutorials being that I started doing my own nails. Thanks 😊
You got me so excited about stamping! I tried a couple of years ago and totally failed... I'm thinking about buying some kind of kit from maniology. Are all of their stampers as good as the one you linked or would you specifically recommend that one?
My favourite plate I have in my collection is your BM/Maniology collab plate. I remember when it first launched, I ordered it that day. I adore stamping it in white or silver over a glittery blue jelly polish (my favourite was the essie starry night rerelease that came out that I thinned and mixed with some micro holo glitter, but I’ve since lost the bottle).
I think I’m going to bust it out tomorrow.
I also ended up placing an order on maniology. Haven’t ordered from them since they were bundlemonster because I bought so much when things were on sale that I haven’t really needed stamping plates since.
This is the perfect video for me as I just recently got into stamping and have now become obsessed. I've recently placed 3 orders with maniology as well as an indie brand and Uber Chic beauty. haha
Great video! So well organized, informative yet succinct. The room not being cold is a good trick! When I want my nails to dry faster I always stick them outside when's cooler and windy out lol).
Haha I do the same! Or stick them in the freezer if I'm feeling super impatient LOL
this eye look is so amazing! you should do a makeup GRWM!
Oh gosh thanks haha!
I love stamping. I love Maniology plates too and I have your galaxy plate too. Love it.
Good afternoon!! Love your videos!! The 101 videos are exactly what I need!! Question? Can you stamp over previous painted nails (top coat was already applied)
Yes you can! It's a fun way to spice up an existing manicure :)
That pink eye shadow😍😍😍😍
Very helpful , I was literally thinking today I should get into nail stamping! Love your videos as always 💕💕💅🏻
Oh it's so much fun! It can be frustrating at times but I think it's worth learning haha!
