You know what bugs me is that I seen there were 7 'dislikes'. How can anyone dislike this video or even what it's about. Probably people that are sucking our resourses dry living in some huge home. Tony, your a great man. I live the same way and I'm planning on building a timber frame now. I'm taking classes on how.
Isn't it wonderful to not only visualize your paradise, but manifest it too? What a glorious sanctuary. Thank you for building, and sharing, your home.
oh man, congrats. I want to do exactly the same but in the depths of British Columbia, proper winters and proper summers. Such a beautiful home Tony, I take my hat off to you sir, a true role model.
So,so lovely to see your smiling face again Tony. And what a beautiful home you have created! Look forward to hearing from you about dance camp wales and hopefully see you at earthsong again. Big heart-felt hugs to you Rachael
Tony's been an inspiration for years. I'm off-grid some 15 years and been through similar planning difficulties as he has. And you CAN live off £80/week, but it leaves nothing for extra projects like building electric vehicles, which I'm doing to also remove fossil fuels and road tax from the equation.
This looks like something a gnome would live in. As I am quite short, it would be perfect for me! With the price of houses in my area, this looks like a neat idea.
Beautiful thanks for sharing, people I suspect because he is off the grid is how he built the way he did, with no gas, no electrical inspections. Also with no mortgage, no bank inspections either. I love where I am, up North in Western Canada, but alis I need services especially at -40. God bless eveyone
I can just imagine the fresh air you get all the time and the smell from the natural woods and plants. Indoor air in typical homes is the most polluted air you can breathe with all the formaldehyde and chemicals coming off of treated woods, drywall, flooring and carpets.I find it impossible to stay long in a new home. Not to mention all the chemicals people purposely put into the air with air fresheners and scented candles. Would like to know where I can get more info on building like this.
this house look like Disney storybook fantasy house... It reminds me of Lord of the ring Hobbit house..so lovely, i want a house like this..thanks for sharing :)
I love unique interesting homes! I have a growing collection of them in my "Unusual Homes and Gardens" playlist. Thank You for posting this one and Thank You to my friend @ DarwinzPond for uploading it to his "Houses" playlist. Blessings to both of you :) Melody ❤*✿⊱╮
How do you get through the land laws in England? Building a house, even a very small house, on agricultural land is virtually impossible in this country. That's why I've been considering doing what you're doing but in Andalucia or south France etc.. Is there any advice you can give me?
This is a beautiful house ! ! I relocated from switzerland and lived in a wooden chalet. Out of a tragic reason i lost everything i have and had to relocate to the UK. I would like to have a wooden house in the forest and my peace and quiet again. It would be such a spring of engery for me working as a psychotherapist...were in England is your house ? Is is allowed to built it in the forrest and do you think it is possible to realise this dream for me to come true? Griseldis from Kent
It looks great but here in Australia you'd be forced to knock it down at your expense as of building codes and regulations. There is no cheap land either apart from out towards the desert in very barren areas.
Hello, this is one of the best things i have ever seen! this is something i have thought about for so very very long but i always thought the plannerd would never allow me to build it! is there any chance you could give me any advice on gaining planning permission for a project like this? Sincerely, Adrian
80 quid a week 5 years ago, i can get by on that in my condo, i hate where it's at, but i have a fridge full of cold beers and frozen pizzas, a dozen computers. i work a minimal job, 6 weeks paid vacation plus 10 paid holidays, spend 4 weeks a year in Vegas. own a minimal car, a smart. i'd prefer someplace tropical, just swapped out my sport tires/wheels for snows, each tire goes up and down 4 flights of stairs, and i have to jack up the car manually each time.
man could a rocket stove go great with this type of home keep it warm, make hot water, and use about 15 of the wood for burning. look into it rocket stoves.
Beautiful! #closetonature But, how about snakes or something, doesn't they even care about crawling down from the roof? or grass? #butAnyways #itsPrettyclosetoNatureAndUnique
+Cristymae Justiniane This is in England, we don;t have many snakes. The ones we do have are small and live in more rural areas. They don;t go into human habitations.
this house looks great, but you still have to pay council tax WHY? i mean if you get your water from a spring and the council do not collect or deliver the water or sewage and you are off grid i mean no power cables then what reason did the council give you to pay rates. what law make you liable to pay rates as you normaly pay rates for the delivery of water, and or the disposal of waist? i am slightly puzled anyway great place to live and peace full 10/10. best regards scooter
@MissIjna Hi, came across your question i to am looking for setting up a community or finding one. One website i came across was premise.com he has two communities and there in missoulia MT. There was another few in upstate NY ittica. One was called the jumping rabbit or something like that you just need to google different key words and do alot research as i have. This info i'm giving you took me about 5mos to collect after hits and misses. I wish u the best may u find true freedom their.
Still, this seems little to me. I don't know how the system works in England, but as I know it is quite bureaucratic, that takes up a lot of money from the people.
so, what if all people just build houses from what they have laying around and just grab water available nearby? Nice home, sure, but DEFINETLY no solution to any future resource problem whatsoever.
Love the house, but I can't see my way around the cost of living, particularly in a country such as the U.S. which does not have universal healthcare. If you were to break your leg because a tree fell on you or your house collapsed, you would need insurance, no? How would a bowlmaker afford health insurance unless the bowls sold for quite a lot of money.
There are people who literally have nothing better to do with their lives than go around downvoting things on the internet. It's sadder than an emo cutter, and more pathetic than a legless dog, but humans can be found on any point of any spectrum. Complete backasswards insanity is the normal condition of humanity.

it would be rich councils with their planning permission restrictions

This is awesome, one day I will live this life. Great video and a great home. Thanks for sharing!
This looks like something a gnome would live in. As I am quite short, it would be perfect for me! With the price of houses in my area, this looks like a neat idea.
i wish i could live like this, maybe i will strive to do this one day, its natural work of art :).

At -40° you just need a well-built rocket mass heater or masonry stove. You CAN live off grid if you do your research.
Living on $128 a month?!! HOLY.. Mother of... Nature!! :o That is AWESOME!!!
Love, love this life style and I love your house !
this is beautiful.
I hope when I am old enough I can live in a house like this!
a lot of people dream of big, my dream is rather small :)

Is woodworm a worry?
Do you notice any and do you take any action (if so , what?)
This is a beautiful house ! ! I relocated from switzerland and lived in a wooden chalet. Out of a tragic reason i lost everything i have and had to relocate to the UK. how do you prevent your roof from rotting?
Great house. How do you get around the planning regs? Is this UK?
It looks great but here in Australia you'd be forced to knock it down at your expense as of building codes and regulations. There is no cheap land either apart from out towards the desert in very barren areas.
is the grass on the roof grown over it or was it seeded onto the roof

its more that the doll, but think that guy is probbaly livign in luxury and might have a wife coz he did say "we"
how to avoid woodworm?
What state are you in? I think there's places where you could do this.
Chris Harbour seems to have gotten inspiration off of this.
I think the same.
man could a rocket stove go great with this type of home keep it warm, make hot water, and use about 15 of the wood for burning. look into it rocket stoves.
i love it but the background music is a little to loud what makes it hard for foreigners to understand him talking
@thejourneyTV2009 Hello love the house, how do get on with planning permission?
I like it very much but i wonder how many times his roof leaks...thats my only issue
@MissIjna land is cheap in Northern Alaska...some parts dont even have taxes
I thought milk wasnt like that, im so confused 1:31
Wait...this isn't a Soprano's clip...
same here in France; and most of them lost their trials so they had to destroy everything! we're living in a dictature! sad but true
He is living in a national park (not legal), he has no insurance and does not pay tax.
80 quid/wk?
how much in usd?
Beautiful! #closetonature But, how about snakes or something, doesn't they even care about crawling down from the roof? or grass?

I thought the same thing! Lol :D
How can he only use 8 quids a week? How about insurances, taxes on land, property tax and stuff?
Still, this seems little to me. I don't know how the system works in England, but as I know it is quite bureaucratic, that takes up a lot of money from the people.
unfortunately homes need to be cyclone coded where I live :'(
Have you a doors in this house?
a very nase grape:)
The dislikes are from bank managers or real estate agents.
@thejourneyTV2009 Just leave out the dot on your website.
didn't he say £80/week? That's something like $550/month?
so, what if all people just build houses from what they have laying around and just grab water available nearby? Nice home, sure, but DEFINETLY no solution to any future resource problem whatsoever.
does he pay any tax ?
He did say 80 quid- he also said he pays land tax so how is he living in a national park?
why do you pay council tax, i mean what reason did they give for you to pay it.
regards

what if Python come?
that's alot of money to live off, more than the doll

you've probably seen garbage warrior film, he got law changed in his state for building codes to live off the grid...
Maybe it is sustainable but not self-sufficient. I heard a word money that he uttered.
+Predrag Nikolić still better off than the rest of the population
+Predrag Nikolić that's because he needs to pay council tax - there are always taxes to pay :(
:D
what's old is new again
he has to pay council tax?? for what?
Familly, he way people did it for eons.
~~~Kicks you in the head~~~ roundhouse xD
It's a hobbit hole!
