This is awesome man! I love seeing this. I have almost that same rig in the same year except white with the nv5600. I’m glad others out there see this truck as a dream truck. I had a black 1997 single cab 3500 automatic version back in 2007-09when in high school but I always wanted one with the 6 speed and I finally got a chance to grab a nice one 2 years ago now. I found it with 77,000 miles on her, grandpa owned. Thanks for sharing this. As far as a project truck, I’m slowly restoring my fathers 89 d250 that he bought new back then, lots of memories in that truck.

I am 16 doing almost the same thing got a 1996 2 wheel drive from my grandpa drove it for a summer decided I needed a 4x4 for work I haul hay often. But I knew I couldn’t get rid of the truck because of its value to me. Found a 4x4 frame from a 96 sand blasted painted it I am now in the process of building my trans and doing my suspension did a custom radius arm swap and traction bars in the rear

How did it take you to get it down to frame?

I'm currently in the process of doing the same with my 06. It's only got 148k miles but the frame is shot thanks to the bastards at the DOT using all the corrosive shit on the roads.
