    Jim does some of the absolute best, most detailed amp demos I’ve heard on the internet. Four thumbs up.

    I hope Fender makes a mass produced version of this amp , I love this amp and I prefer the tremolo feature over reverb . You can get your reverb for free when you play it at a live gig or record it in a studio. Absolutely gorgeous sounding amp.
    Fender should make it a permanent part of thier production lineup .

    Finally, a review that features humbuckers as well as single coils going through the amp. I love the tones that it puts out.

  • @jasong546

    Really nice demo you guys. I appreciate your work showing everyone the great Fender sounds the amp can provide. I don’t quite understand why anyone would criticize the lack of features on a signature anything, because Chris Stapleton likes this format and because you can plainly hear why in this demo. I bought a Princeton RI with of course reverb in December, and I can say that this signature model doesn’t sound better, so you won’t miss out if you buy the regular production version. And if anyone is not aware, the reissue and this Stapleton version are a nearly perfect pedal platform-either one will rock the heck out. If I run my Dirty Little Secret into it for example and put the amp volume on 2, I can blow out the windows with glorious raaaawk tones. Either amp would make you happy if you love the fender sound of that period!

    13:01 is the sound these little garage rockers do that makes the original 6g2 circuit/amp so popular and sought after. Go look at the prices on ebay for a 6g2. Asking for reverb on this amp is like asking for reverb on a 57 Deluxe/5e3.

    Great demo. Nice to see the Ox Box gone, that thing seems to make the recent demos very bright and tinny, just my two cents.

    What is the Eminence CS speaker similar too? I know it was based off the 12” speaker that someone had modded his original ‘62 Princeton. What was that original speaker?

  • @clearcoat

    This is a great amp but the speaker makes it very loud (sensitivity 101db). I undid the CS mods, by replacing the 5AR4 rectifier with a 5Y3 and the Eminence speaker with a Jensen 10" P10R-F. That's much closer to the original configuration and with more manageable volume, plus it sounds even better...

      Volume pedal and whammy bar. You use the volume pedal to lessen the attack and the whammy bar to add the bar vibrato sound

  • @Hoagiemon
    @Hoagiemon 3 года назад

    You said , “2 channel”. Is the vibrato turned on considered a channel?

    • @okaytastic6691
      @okaytastic6691 3 года назад

      It’s a single channel amp. It has 2 inputs one is 6db let hot at the input so if you’re playing loud and want it to stay cleaner you could use that jack to the right to keep it less overdriven

  •  4 года назад +1

    Is that a pedal friendly amp?

    • @christianlacheze3323
      @christianlacheze3323 Месяц назад

      Not really (except ‘verb or delay pedals) because it has the brownface sound, ie a lovely, musical « hump » in the high mids . So it is not « neutral » or clean enough (like eg a Deluxe Reverb) to be really pedal friendly. Mine is a real ‘62 though, not a reissue. Best Strat amp ever IMHO

    No spring reverb, no gain knob... What's the point?

    • @Chrismayo1981
      @Chrismayo1981 5 лет назад +3

      Low wattage so the volume knob IS the gain knob... simpler circuit... reverb is a problem though...

    • @thBrilliantFool
      @thBrilliantFool 5 лет назад

      Unless there's a price drop for this "signature model" it's not worth it. This is a downgrade from a normal Princeton. I don't think they even added a 12 inch speaker.

    This amp is not 2 channel, it's 10 lbs heavier than he says, doesn't mention the 5y3 rectifier tube, incompetence. This guy doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. If your going to review the amp know the amp please. Jeez
