  • Chris Stapleton Princeon Amp play through. We used the Schecter Nick Johnston Signature strat along with a Fender spring reverb tank and a little help from the Source Audio LA Lady in a full mix. We mic'd it with a Lauten Audio LS-208 through a Focusrite ISA428. This amp sounds amazing! What do you think? leave a comment below!

    I have this amp and absolutely love it to bits. And definitely a useable volume for home use. I generally just have it on 3-4 volume so not breaking up at that point but still plenty of body to the sound and the trem adds so much life. So glad I snapped one of these up in time. They seem like they dont make them anymore. Also compared to my custom 57 deluxe there seems to be a bit more attention to detail with the Princeton. The handle/cab seems to be a step above the tweed in quality. Not sure if it's because of the extra weight of the Princeton speaker but there's definitely a difference.

    I own this amp too and definitely won't be parting with it. It's real easy to use, just one tone control and you can dial to please. The valve tremolo is a real bonus, I have a Fender 63 valve reverb tank that works perfectly with this amp, so I'm good to go. It's a perfect amp to use with pedals too if you want, because with just the one tone control on the amp to worry about you can get the best sound of the pedal you are using. Nice and light, chuck it on the back seat with a seat belt around it. Nice demo guys.

    I hope Fender makes a mass produced version of this amp , I love this amp and I prefer the tremolo feature over reverb . You get your reverb for free when you play it at a live gig or record it in a studio. Absolutely gorgeous sounding amp.
    Fender should make it a permanent part of thier production lineup

    Not being overtly attentive, but with the fingers you had the tone knob on 11 and with the pick one o clock ish..I own of these two and always use the tone knob on one ore two o clock. The tone knob makes a quite discernible change in the upper partials......

    Almost any low-power tube amp will sound MUCH better pushing a 12" speaker. I have a couple of Blackface Princetons - one an Amp, the other a Reverb - and I generally disconnect the on-board 10" speaker and in one case, I run a 2-10" open-back cab loaded with Vox Bulldogs, and in the other an old Fender 2-12" cab with Jensens. Won't EVER let these amps go...

      I was never a fan of 10's either other than in bass amps.

    Is it configured as a Princeton? Can you tell us what tubes? Love the fingers right into the amp,single mic set up is nice.

      A little late response but it's more or less a brownface Princeton circuit with a custom 12inch speaker.

    Do you still have this wonderful amplifier….and how does it mix with a band…I own a Victoria Vibrolux amplifier with a 12” Eminence Victoria speaker that is close sounding but has more of a Tweed sound not as much as a fire breathing amp as a Deluxe but kind of in between a Deluxe and Vibrolux

    Hi, Fender lists the actual weight of that amp at 33.25 pounds. A couple of other sites list it's weight at about 23 pounds...which is it?

      Weights a ton. Part because the monstruous speaker, and the tubes safety cage. I ended changing the speaker to a Jensen Blackbird 40 Alnico. Besides I think it’s sounds even better.

    How do you plug the fender reverb? Is it just like a pedal in front of the amp?

    how loud are clean tones on this amp?

    • @ShredShed
      @ShredShed  5 лет назад +5

      loud enough to play a small venue. Not loud enough to play un-mic'd in a rock band with a Dave Grohl

      PlaguePriest88 they’re really appropriate to play at home on 3-4. 6 and 8 is pretty kicking but what amp isn’t!! Sounds cool
