I think these later Intel Macs got shafted. I have a 19 Air and it's stuck on Sonoma until OCLP works around it. Just picked up a free 2011 iMac to see what its capable of hardware upgrade wise. It's currently on Ventura in its stock format. Have ram and an SSD inbound.
As a person with a 2020 MacBook that barely uses it anymore I would not even recommend due to the fact it’s only has 8 gb of ram and also the fact it only has 256 gb which is not even enough for storage and it’s very slow JSUT get an m1 MacBook if you want a better experience
I got the ihe i7 / 16 GB RAM in 2020 & it was actually pretty good before i decided to update it. Macos Sequoia sucks so bad. Crashes very often & it just slowed down almost anything i do on my mac. With every Update it got worse.Ill try to downgrade back to Sonoma or even back to Big Sur. Does anyone also have the same Problems?
So I have the MacBook at 2020 Intel Chip and I've had it since it was released and I bought it brand-new. I can't say my proper opinions but I don't think the MacBook Air 2020 Intel chip will be good in 2025 or well till the macOS 15 comes out as I'm using the beta version and it seems to not be working that well when scrolling through websites on Safari it doesn't seem to look as smooth as it used to be and my Mac seems to get really hot when using some of the new features and because the maps got a Intel chip in it not a M chip it won't get any of the AI artificial intelligence features and I don't think you should just go by the M1 chip version. I think you should buy a MacBook Air with at least an M2 chip but if you can afford it get as no other Mac as possible and try to steer away from the oldest Mac still supported as they don't work as well and don't get all the features coming with the new macOS
I’m glad you made this video Terry i have this Mac and i have been thinking to upgrade to the M3 but I’m happy with my Mac 2020. So i wont upgrade it.❤
How well Does it hold, if compared to a macbook air 8gb the bae model, i have been looking between these two options in the second hand market, and these are quite similarly priced, i use my 2012 upgraded ssd and ram to 16gb not so frequently but occasional use for editing videos mostly in 1080p and sometimes iphone 12 4k 60fps videos under a minute, serves me well, only while exporting the fans kick in, when i came across my friends 2019 16 inches i9, i got mesmerized by the screen size the speaker quality and the humongous track pad, didn’t get to extensively use the 16 inches but the time had kinda fell in love especially with the modern design, m1 are fast and battery back up is amazing for sure, but the the 13 inch screen is kind of asking me to stop and rethink my decision especially with only 256 gb storage, in the second hand market i am getting a minimum of 1 tb with 32gb ram and 4gb radeon graphics, as per my workflow, do you think it is worth it to sacrifice these perks for a machine that is sure future proof but to what extent, i do have to sacrifice a beautiful 16 inches 1tb storage and the amazing speaker, i do not care much of the new os or the perks that come with it, my workflow with the laptop is not that much, half of the time its just sitting on my table idle, which would you recommend for my purpose.
The 2019 16" Macbook pro still has alot of life out of it. It may last a year or two less than a Macbook air, but even after the computer stops getting the latest MacOS updates, you can still use your software.
Thanks! Because on RUclips practically zero reviews (2020 Intel Air)
It's always good to go with high ram than storage
Thank you for the review, I recently purchased a refurbished MacBook and am waiting to receive it.
do you like it so far
I didn’t even know apple released Intel Macs in 2020 😂
Thank you for this review ! Really helpful 🙏

If that's important to you then yes.
So is it good gor uni ?
I would say so
hey bro can you tell me how it runs on roblox with graphics at minimum
I have it. It runs well with graphics at minimum, but if you go further it does get a lil laggy.

You will have a day and night way better computing experience with a M3 Mac. Apple silicon Macs are on a different level.
I paid $380 CAD.
👍👍👍👍
I have an i5 and it's a piece of crap. Not worth it at any price.
I want one because no AI crap.
