B7 is my absolute favourite rs4, wagon and then the sedan. Body shape, aggressive vents, the noise, but most importantly in my opinion the best wheel design from factory
This age 4.2V8 benefits waaaaaay more from a carbon clean, than a tune. I saw this a million times "ah we tuned it and now it does factory power" - no, you tuned it and as you push, the ECU is pulling timing out because the engine can't breathe properly.
Hahaha, at first I thought the owner is overexaggerating his emotions but as I kept on watching him I realised his mood and feeling literally changed probably over a hundred times during that ride. Such a funny guy, that was a great watch!

I remember back when these were new, motoring press (especially EVO) loved them, this Audi is sort of an anomaly in the Audi timeline. It does not suffer from hardcoded understeer tendency, actually has a great weight distribution and very refined steering feel. Not a blunt weapon as pretty much all the Audis before and after. Actually, for spirited driving on the roads, I remember EVO guys actually preffered it to the contemporary E92 M3, which sounds crazy. That is why this will be my car once life pushes me into need of people carrier, of course, in avant variant.

@Richard Harrold carbon clean, injectors including all gaskets and bolts etc was just over £1400 if I remember rightly. Gained 56hp though so can’t complain too much. That was for aftermarket Hitachi injectors too. OEM ones were an absolute fortune.

Don't see why, these things'll rev all day to 250k miles no problem, you get so much more from this engine above 5k rpm, below 2.5k revs you have only 50% power, not sure why he didn't rev it like you're sposed to.

Don't really know about the S4 but this generation RS4 was well known for being down on power compared to stock (380bhp). An E39 M5 with equal length headers does 440bhp all day with massive torque in every gear with the best V8 sounds ever so no idea what you are talking about.
You're prob trolling but anyway I bet you've never driven one, E39 M5 is rated by many as the best M car of that era. It was the official ringtaxi, no Audi ever did that lol. The RS4 just understeers everywhere, all car journalists agree on that hahah.@@RST9413

I love that car. Audi v8 is awesome. I find it strange all these performance cars have such high oil temperatures in these conditions. Do they not have massive oil coolers?
On B7 RS4 oil temp at 120c is ok by factory default. Even 130 is still 100% normal. Quality oil will do ok. They do have oil cooler but there is thermostat that keeps oil temps at fairly high level compared to normal cars.
@@jetu82 thanks for clarification. Really? I thought anything above 120+ degrees can be dangerous because even high quality oils lose their optimal lubrication at those temperatures.
@@Diac13 Not really. Good synthetic oil works fine up to 150° C, but at that temp you are risking engine damage because you're getting greatly reduced bearing and piston cooling with the hot oil. Oil life is also drastically reduced above 140° C, like only a handful of hours at that temp. Optimally you want your oil a touch over 100° C for best engine cooling and longest oil life, but still hot enough to boil out the water.
This one has a crossplane crank. Ik it sounds like one in the interior though I'ma guess the firing order and some other things is the reason for that sound.
