I would like to see better fuel economy. I have about 4500 miles on the GV80 now and not a single problem. It has the luxury that I wanted and the ability to move everything that we need when go back and forth to our cottage.

@@mastertry1935 I agree. I was wondering if folks were comparing the Genesis with the 2020 Nautilus or the 2021 Nautilus which is quite different from the previous Nautilus. I have been looking at them all and the only thing that I wish that Lincoln had done was to hide the rear wiper like they did on the Aviator. I have an MKX and I like its size for our purposes but the Aviator is nice -- just a tad too long as is the Genesis which I think is great too. Also, wish that the Nautilus had the touch rotary dial to handle commands to the Entertainment screen but am hopeful that the voice command will be better than the horrid one on the 2011 MKX.
I will be new car shopping in the Spring. I hope that between now and then I can decipher what it is that he is suggesting to buy? The longer that I listened,... the more confused I became. lol
I don't mind the steering wheel, but definitely agree on interior and exterior color options. Hyundai tends to really limit these on the Hyundai branded cars, which isn't terribly surprising, but it's really surprising to see on the Genesis cars.
ok, so i never really considered the Edge or the Atlas Sport 4s because I thought long term, the weight and workloads of everyday real-life use would be to much on the little engines. is it a real concern? is forcing even more power out from them, as in this case, better or worse in the long run? somebody needs to make up their minds because most reviewers through the past have told us this is the case. isn't the power supposed to come on below 2000 rpm?at 3000 seems more naturally aspirated power output.
If the horsepower rolls on around 5800 rpm, and torque drops off after 4000 rpm, does that mean that this vehicle has a 1400 rpm hole where you're not getting good power delivery? the relationship between torque and horsepower curves has always confused me.
To be fair, it should be noted that there’s only so much you can do to refine a 4 cylinder engine. By nature of their design, they rev really high resulting in that awful, unrefined noise. I’ve heard the same racket coming from Audis, Mercedes, BMWs and VWs. I’m starting to like Genesis but I think I’d go for the six, especially in an SUV this big.
Wondering why auto reviewers consider lean such a terrible thing? Doesn't bother me. I'm thinking that the lean is a sign that the vehicle is more softly sprung and not transmitting road imperfections to the body as "harshly" as if it were stiffer and had less lean and dive.

I agree 100% on interior color options: at the same price level and materials, I always find the black interior looking cheaper and lacking a wow factor. I have a G70 with the light grey nappa leather, contrasting so nicely with the Mallorca blue paint, I smile every time I drive the car, such a great environment to sit in (the driving dynamics are the other cause for the smile). Interested in the GV80 and considering putting more money for the V6 mainly to unlock the color options (I want that tan/navy interior)

Because you can buy a Rav4 hybrid and a CRV hybrid. Many luxery buyers still want the step up in performance and power, even if it's simply the illusion of it and they will never use it.
Because that's not how that works. Halving the hp ≠ double the economy. Additionally, sometimes it's actually better to have a larger displacement so the engine won't have to work as hard. To get higher mpg in this class you will need a hybrid system or diesel.

Loaded 2020 MDXs are selling for almost $5k under invoice, not sticker, but invoice, for around $53k. Remove the unnecessary rear seat entertainment package and you're at about $51k. The cheapest SH-AWD can be had for just over $40k. The base FWD version can be had for under $39k or about the price of a well equipped, not loaded, Bronco Sport or Kia Sorento. That's a big reason why they're selling so well. Not sure when it's coming out, but the GV90 will probably be around $20k more than any MDX. It will compare more with X7s, GLS's and Aviators. The MDX is probably more comparable to the Telluride or Palisade, then Q7s, X5s and GLEs, and actually similarly priced in terms of true market value ($40-$50k)...
Automotive engineers...listen to me carefully. Analog gauges increase clockwise, not counter-clockwise. I was interested in this vehicle, however briefly, until I saw this. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel...and doing it badly.

Feel moreso than any other car brand. I know the diesel version of the GV80 has already been recalled in Korea for engine stalling.

the level of luxury is far greater than gv80 than a lincoln. there is a weird fordness to lincolns. you sit on these gv80 it will just blow you away. so for me i'll pay little more for a nicely equipped gv80.

MPG fiasco has been in the past, yes. but now they routinely get a very good MPG nowdays. kia niro for example has almost as good as tesla model 3 in real world range. i was impressed with aviator somewhat. but it still felt lacking in many areas. you can't change how i felt about it. the level of fit and finish and material quality just wasn't up there with Genesis. you will understand it if you see it in person. aviator felt like a great premium car. it felt like it should compete with xc90, mdx and so son. Genesis felt like a tier above. no ifs and buts about it. it didn't feel like a same class at all. in a way aviator is somewhere between palisade and gv80. it's actually closer to palisade than gv80 in certain point of view.
@@joec.5009 i HAVE seen and DRIVEN. i test drive cars all the time. i test drove the Hyundai palisades and walked away stunned how everybody was giving it so much love. to me, it rolled to much in corners and in fact felt horribly sluggish off every red light. thinking of having to face this every day of ownership made me wonder what in the heck reviewers are thinking. as far as the niro, dunno. but we own three teslas now. the only ones worth their money are the two X. the s is horribly uncomforting and has a hard armrest...making daily drives to work feel long. the 3 interior is horrid. in fact, how they get past safety regulations when you're not allowed to text...but ARE allowed to play with a large touch pad off the side is how wrong our society is in regulations. like...you know...gotta wear seatbelts or get a ticket yet it is A OK to ride a motorcycle. weird, almost george carlin humor toit.
@@paulpellico3797 Teslas are horrible fit & finish but they are getting better. they are still the best EVs, but competition is catching up. but Tesla is loaded with money and can easily raise money, so they will continue to be ahead of the competition. i love TSLA stocks, but really don't care about their car. at least not yet. i'm warming up to it though. i have nothing against the lincolns. it's a compelling car in a volvo kinda way. i'm very fond of lincoln. my mom's friend brought a brand new towncar in 92. that thing rode like a dream. i never knew a car could be so comfortable. on top of that navigator is a top 2 american flagship along with escalade. red on red interior. it was a beauty. i didn't even care how it rode like a boat. but man that was silky smooth car. i just feel like Genesis has an ambition to challenge the germans. obviously they know their limitations and brought all these euro talents. i know sang yup lee dude is korean, but he also worked for bentley. they are poaching every talents and it's clearly working. i'm looking at them and feel like they are 90's lexus. they are working on to make stand alone dealerships. i think it would be a tremendous step up when they have a dealership to match their nice cars.

Korean SUV can not crush Japanese and German SUV! You will rarely see GV80 on the road... the same way you rarely see Genesis cars on the road like the G80. You will see lots of Lexus, Acura, BMW, and Audi on the road. Also, Toyota used BMW for their new Supra instead of Genesis!
Bought the GV80 5 days ago. I've owed Porsche, Mercedes, Audi and Cadillac. One word for Genesis......Awesome.

Why compare this an SUV with the G80 sedan? And not apple to apple with say German SUV?
Instead of giving every CUV 300+ hp why don't they make a CUV that gets like 60mpg but has half the hp?

People buying a 7 seat suv want power not mpgs in the US, and gas is only 2.50/gal or so for premium.

Genesis felt like a tier above. no ifs and buts about it. it didn't feel like a same class at all. in a way aviator is somewhere between palisade and gv80. it's actually closer to palisade than gv80 in certain point of view.

i test drive cars all the time.
i test drove the Hyundai palisades and walked away stunned how everybody was giving it so much love.
to me, it rolled to much in corners and in fact felt horribly sluggish off every red light. thinking of having to face this every day of ownership made me wonder what in the heck reviewers are thinking.
as far as the niro, dunno.
but we own three teslas now. the only ones worth their money are the two X. the s is horribly uncomforting and has a hard armrest...making daily drives to work feel long.
the 3 interior is horrid. in fact, how they get past safety regulations when you're not allowed to text...but ARE allowed to play with a large touch pad off the side is how wrong our society is in regulations.
like...you know...gotta wear seatbelts or get a ticket yet it is A OK to ride a motorcycle.

@@paulpellico3797 Teslas are horrible fit & finish but they are getting better. they are still the best EVs, but competition is catching up. but Tesla is loaded with money and can easily raise money, so they will continue to be ahead of the competition. i love TSLA stocks, but really don't care about their car. at least not yet. i'm warming up to it though.
i have nothing against the lincolns. it's a compelling car in a volvo kinda way. i'm very fond of lincoln. my mom's friend brought a brand new towncar in 92. that thing rode like a dream. i never knew a car could be so comfortable. on top of that navigator is a top 2 american flagship along with escalade. red on red interior. it was a beauty. i didn't even care how it rode like a boat. but man that was silky smooth car.
i just feel like Genesis has an ambition to challenge the germans. obviously they know their limitations and brought all these euro talents. i know sang yup lee dude is korean, but he also worked for bentley. they are poaching every talents and it's clearly working. i'm looking at them and feel like they are 90's lexus. they are working on to make stand alone dealerships. i think it would be a tremendous step up when they have a dealership to match their nice cars.

Hyundai/Genesis is the not necessarily Ugly but, Poor Girl in High School who wore KnockOffs Graduate and moves to LA, Works Hard an becomes Successful and Marrys a Rich/Handsome Guy who she brings to her 10 Year Reunion to show off and make her Classmates regret Bullying & Picking on her lol

I think this is one super ugly SUV! I liked the older Genesis much more - now they have managed to make ugly and trying to pretend it is pretty!
Korean SUV can not crush Japanese and German SUV! You will rarely see GV80 on the road... the same way you rarely see Genesis cars on the road like the G80. You will see lots of Lexus, Acura, BMW, and Audi on the road. Also, Toyota used BMW for their new Supra instead of Genesis!
