Hey Bracken, many thanks for the kind words, much appreciated. First tune is an original, usually played on a 12 string guitar, just thought I would try it out on the F12.
I am from Spain (Europe) and I am interested in acquiring this instrument in the USA. I have inquired from the company but am still waiting for an answer on this: can someone please tell me if they will work with 12 string acoustic guitar strings, and if so, what gauge? I ask because the distribution of the instrument and its strings does not reach Spain, so that if you buy it, you can change the strings. Thank you so much.
Thank you for the demo. Can someone tell me the tuning of each string pair? Looks like the lower string pairs are an octave apart; but the upper pairs are tuned the same. True?
That seems likely based on the way a 12 string guitar is usually tuned (octave pairs on EAD, unison pairs on GBE), and that the F6 is an octave above a regular guitar so I would guess the F12 is just an octave above a 12 string.
tell me about the instrument----tuning etc---is it electric----i play blues on my 8 sting----or rawhide ((bluegrass----))what can i do with this thing???how bout ---the thrill is gone-----lookin for something different-- bobby pierce---
Hi, Basically the Mandoguitar is what is says, it is a mandolin sounding instrument....but tuned like a guitar a octave higher. Whatever you play on guitar, you can do on the mandoguitar. I use it in open tunings or standard, see other demo's. It is electric. I suppose, it is whatever you mind wants it to be. Hope this helps G
This is freaking awesome ! I just ordered one one these, was the string spacing ok when you had it strung up as 6 string? Was this video standard guitar tuning or open tuning? Great job!
Many thanks for the comments, really appreciated. Open G tuning. String spacing was great when I had it as a 6 string. Pretty sure Wayne Rogers at Goldstone also adjusted the spacing after the initial run, which I had. The instrument is capable of producing tones that you cannot achieve on the guitar. I approached it not to be ike a mandolin sounding instrument, but a instrument in its own right if you know what I mean.
I have one - "standard tuning" is tuned one octave above a 12 string guitar But the G string is not an octave "set" like on a standard 12 string guitar - just two G's (low) E's, A's, D's octave pairs, G's, B's, E's (high) doubled This guy sure rocks this !!!
Oh man I love this! And you rock it brother, great alternative for us guitar guys who want a mandolin sound!
Thanks Steve
Wow, what's the great playing!

Hi Mark, Many thanks. Really appreciated. G
It's basically a Wire Strung Genovese Mandolin
Excellent job that was one of the best demos I've ever seen thanks bro
Thanks Roger, appreciated.
Nice demo! A good emulation of the mandolin.
Thanks Johnny, much appreciated
Beautiful
Great stuff!!!!! thanks for posting!!!
Many thanks
GREAT SOUND ......
Thanks Eric
Wow what's the opening song? Beautiful playing
I have one on order!
They are great. If you find the 12 string a little cramp, just use it as a 6 string.
I just ordered one myself.
Wife will kill me.
But what else is new?
@@Ira88881 No regrets with this string machine my friend. Great decision!
the one at the beginning
what song is this? it sounds great!
All tunes were just played off the top of me head. All original, some played on my regular 12 string(when I had one)

Hi Sebastian. The 6 to 4th string are an octave apart. The top 2 are in unison.

I got mine today and some of the notes are not in tune when fretted. Very disappointed as these aren't cheap
Had to put bridge very crooked but done the trick if anyone reads this
Question, if I may? Is this the way it comes out of the box? Or did you have to get it set-up? Thanks pal
Hi Steve. Out of the box, perfect.
Is this normal tuning that you are playing with? Thanks
I believe it is tuned an octave above a standard guitar

Hi Steve G tuning.
Are you in a G tuning?
Sorry for the "very late" reply, yes G tuning
Is this a Mandolin string. If so what pattern of tuning it is.
Strings are described on the Gold Tone website. This is in G tuning. I'm just playing tunes I usually play on the 12 string.
