I realised just how powerful kite's restriction actually is, Kite is someone who hates taking lives, and the restriction of once he draws his weapon he "has to use it" meaning he needs to kill something with it or damage at the very least. This for a average hunter in the Hunter Hunter world does not seem like a strong restriction, but for Kite specifically its probably stronger or just as strong as kurapikas restriction just from the way he views taking lives, as he has always been dedicated to saving them mostly.

Kite (who had just gotten his arm ripped off) deeply impressed Pitou with how well he fought, even to the point of Pitou creating a hatsu simply to relive that experience. When comparing that to how ineffective the combined efforts of Knuckle, Shoot, Morel, Melereon etc were against Youpi (even to the point where Youpi just leaves them lying without killing them because he's so far above them), I'd say Kite is incredibly underrated as a fighter.

Youpi literally becomes a whole new being after fighting Knuckle and Morel and develops a new sort of Hatsu while fighting Knuckle. Plus he finds a new respect for Nen when fighting Killua. I'd say that's on the same level as Pitou after fighting Kite. Plus Pitou had just been born and is inherently very curious. So he was very likely to want to continue fighting anyway.

If you think about it, nearly everybody that Hisoka has killed in battle were one-trick ponies. They spend all of their time and energy on one technique (e.g. Kastro and Gotoh). They don't even try to figure out different ways to use their one ability. All Hisoka needs to do to see the ability once and he will find a way to counter it. So, someone who can practice only one attack isn't going to do well against a person who can create 100 attacks on the fly.

We even saw how far those coins reached hisoka, if they had 1,5 times power they would actually reach him and I am sure that kite gun has more power.
Hisoka often plays around with his enemies and gets himself hurt or in bad situation(he literally died because of it), Kite would not let him play around and would imidietly kill him as his arsenal is focused on one hit kills.

I think another important piece of data for scaling Kite (however little this actually tells us) is the condition that Pitou was in after fighting an extremely nerfed Kite (he did the entire fight missing an arm and after battling his way to the nest). Pitou had barely a scratch on them, but that's still not nothing. And they seemed to really enjoy fighting Kite. So, there might be a lot more that we don't know about.
Lot to unpack in this situation and then consider against how we think Hisoka would fair against a character like Pitou. It's very important to realize that Pitou was possibly significantly weaker at the time, as they had just been birthed.
Ultimately my money is still on Hisoka. The guy is a freak. It's hard to bet against anyone who can push Chrollo the way he did, especially after seeing Chrollo take on the two patriarchs of the Zoldyck family AT THE SAME TIME.

    • @alexjames7144
      @alexjames7144 Год назад +50

Tbf I always feel like Chrollo's fight with the Zoldycks is given way more credit than it's due. They don't know how his ability works so they're being very cautious and trying not to show off, they're also not going full out because there are two of them and they clearly don't need to.
Plus Chrollo didn't try to kill them either, he was just stalling for time.
Basically it says very little about how they'd fair in an actual fight because neither side was fully going for it. And Zeno says he would probably win 1:1 with the probably being because he doesn't know his nen abilities in full so he can never be 100% sure. But Chrollo's ability is no where near as powerful as it seems, because the powers are all borrowed and not made for him so he can only steal rubbish powers or good ones that he can't use to their full potential.

Another key point is what Ging told Gon about Kite's Crazy Slots, which was something like 'Kite has a number he only gets when he's in a bad spot, and it makes him really hard to kill' (haven't read in a while so not gonna even attempt to quote him verbatim). I just want to reiterate that Kite was taught by someone who, after only witnessing a few panels of him actually using nen (the few combat scenes as well as the nen control game he plays with his new crewmates), completely changed every reader's perspective - at least those who pay attention - on how nen works. There's a fairly consistent pattern of compliments correlating to ability in HxH, and Ging has consistently been portrayed as one of the - if not the most - well known and respected nen users. If a guy like that dishes out complimentary statements towards someone, there's probably a bit more going on there than we readers know. I think the “setup” is just as important. If Kite is chasing Hisoka (phantom troupe stole from his friends, given the assignment by association, seeking revenge after Gon got killed by hisoka) vs Hisoka chasing after Kite (or by extension Ging) the initial contact may be completely different.
As you say, Kite is a more “natural” Hunter that does his research and studied his prey. He seems more calculating in his approach and with preparation may hold an advantage. Also on initial contact, he may make the choice to flee and fight at a more advantageous arena.
The best circumstances for Hisoka are for him to target Kite in order to find Ging. He’s already in the fighting mindset going into it while Kite is reacting more predictably whilst fleeing. Kite: “This trap should allow me a moments rest” Hisoka: “mmm yes I would agree… if it was your normal prey!”
Just tossing them into a ring and fighting for fights sake makes this whole scenario play out extremely in Hisoka’s favor.
Adding some build up and set up to the confrontation may narrow that gap or possibly towards kite’s favor. Though I think Hisoka’s ingenuity may rebalance things yet again, there’s a good chance that Kite can see through the chaotic clown’s versatile vigor.

    • @alraitp6045

I agree. If Kite is hunting Hisoka, Kite would have done a similar way as how Gon stalked Hisoka, or better because of his experience. Since Hisoka didn't even notice Gon, I doubt that he will notice Kite as well. With this, when Kite rolls for his weapon, the clown may give him one shot type of weapon such as the gun (assuming that the clown actually gives the best roll for the situation). Kite could fatally wound Hisoka and ultimately making him the winner. However, if it was just a straight up fight like in the arena, Hisoka would probably win.

"I'm a bit sad about your points against Kite :/
Kite is intelligent and understands that some/most of his abilities are straightforward. If you recognize this, you have two options: either be thoughtless like Gon and lack a plan B, or develop at least one truly adaptable ability. Bungee Gum offers less versatility than a Crazy Slot with nine abilities, which can be straightforward yet still adaptable. For instance, a scythe can not only slice but also pierce, block, and counter, and its handle can be utilized for quick strikes. A Katana is more than just a large knife, yet you would never label it as straightforward.
To be honest, I believe the fight would be exceptionally close, and solely based on my analysis, I'd say Kite has a "good chance," but it won't be easy (maybe 60:40?). Hisoka's primary strength lies in his innovative strategies and the sheer panic he induces in his opponents, causing them to make poor decisions or catch them unprepared. Conversely, Kite is an exceedingly cautious Hunter with a composed mindset.
But truth be told: Hisoka would emerge victorious 100% due to Plot Armor

For example if you roll the same weapon 3 times in a row it gets stronger or it gets an additional effect. Maybe something like Hakari fron Jujutsu Kaisen. If kite has some hidden ability like that he acually gets stronger the longer he fights and it fills any weaknesses he might have. If Im not mistaken it was stated that Ging helped Kite develop his ability and we know he is the GOAT.

I think the way Crazy Slots works, is rather than RNG it assigns him a weapon best suited to his situation based on available information - with the methodology being either subconscious or not his own.
Which would explain how he drew convenient weapons to fodderize fodder, and drew effectively a phoenix down for Neferpitou - while it looks random the implementation of the hatsu seems to be somewhat optimized

Good video but im oretty sure kite would beat hisoka for many reasons: his crazy slots are always suitable for the situation, he has unknown abilities that may be even better than shown and for this hes above a nen master stated by killua, keeping his en up to 40 metres for a long and time, add a chopped arm before fighting pitou and then giving her an intense fight kite was at 50% during it at best so imagining him at 100% hisoka stands little chance.

I still think Kite takes this with difficulty. Hisoka is often reckless, and allows damage to himself because of his confidence in Bungee Gum, which, to be fair, is not exactly misplaced. But I think it's entirely possible, even probably, that Hisoka gets caught by multiple Crazy Slots options, potentially even by overthinking, although, since Hisoka's ability is also simple yet flexible, he might figure that out somewhat quickly.
I get what you are saying regarding working with what we actually know, however, one of the things we KNOW is that Kite has more in his bag that we've never seen, and this is already a close fight with what we've actually seen...Hisoka has nothing new to offer, but Kite does.

I don’t read manga in search of reality. But I love HxH because, it’s more like a real fight. The weaker person can absolutely win. Characters run out of steam, and it shows. Arrogance plays a massive role, and unlike other series, will power didn’t make earlier “ once a day 1hitkill “moves spammable or tankable.
Or when a character reveals their motivation, is reminded of it, or if they care more they get super buffed.
Which could work, here are real life examples:
Look at Tyson Fury vs Wilder 1.
Wilder hit TF with a knock out punch in the 12 round. He started cheering early. TF got back up at the last second. DW looked like an anime bad guy. His eyes widened like “wtf”.
And the crazy part was, TF was fighting defensively all that fight. But after he got knocked down. He went on offense.
He talked about “I was down, but then I opened my eyes. And if I could do that, I could get the fuck back up. I knew I needed to knock him out.”
And, the reason why he was trying so hard, is he was suffering from suicidal depression. So he had to push.
Max Holloway - got pissed mid fight. Because the announcers and judges had been saying he was fighting the best boxer. So he stopped looking at his opponent, but kept dodging his hits while hitting him.
    Justin Gathije vs Tony.
Justin was getting hit hard, and a lot. He was hitting Tony too but missing many shots. His coach told him “pull back 10%. Stop trying to take his head off.”
Justin listened, and ended up knocking Tony out in that round.
    Or Khabib fighting Mcgregor.
He was extremely pissed and upset.
But he was constantly reminding himself “don’t get too mad. Stay focused.”
Because Mcgregor would piss people off so badly, and
Or when a fighter brings their family in, sees them mid fight and it’d either get their adrenaline going more, or try to get ahold of themselves.

I think the biggest testament to how tough Kite was is the fact that a one armed Kite was seemingly able to fight Neferpitou all night and inflict moderate damage while wielding a Crazy Slots weapon that most likely didn't grant him any especially significant offensive capabilities, since supposedly it was the slot that allows Kite to cheat death to a certain extent and the slots tend to be extremely specialized in what they do. Under similar circumstances, I have a hard time believing a pre Chrollo fight Hisoka would have been capable of the same.

@TrevondDestroyosauru I’ve heard that thought before-that Kite and Pitou’s battle lasted all night-and I just don’t buy it. Kite did manage to get at least one or two hits in, though, and even drew a little blood in the manga, so that’s wildly impressive on its own.

    • @michaelh9649
      @michaelh9649 Год назад

@TrevondDestroyosauru Awkward, maybe, but far, far more likely. The alternative is that Kite, while missing an arm, is strong enough to fight a Royal Guard for hours, yet not strong enough to inflict more than a scratch on Pitou or avoid losing the arm in the first place. Especially when you consider that most the high level nen battles we see last only minutes or even seconds, the leap just seems silly when there’s a far more likely explanation present. I don’t know for sure, of course, but Pitou chillin’ there with his body, thinking about the battle seems more plausible than the alternative.

Pitou sitting there relishing in the fight may be weird, but it makes way more sense than their battle lasting hours. Chrollo vs Zeno/Silva, Youpi vs Shoot/Knuckle/Killua, Netero vs Meruem…all these battles are taking place in a matter of seconds. The only nen battles that get into hours are maybe when the hatsu used is really complex. Pitou doesn’t have hatsu at this point, and all of Kite’s hatsu that we’ve seen is very straightforward. That battle did not last hours.

Hisoka will k*ll Kite medium to high difficulty, due to the limitations of his weapons.

I really just can’t see Hisoka beating Kite tbh. People forget to look at Hisoka’s own *fighting style* every time. Hisoka is incredibly smart, but he specializes in deception(hence why he’s the magician). A prime example was when he used slight of hand tactics and revealed his bungee gum to Gatou in order to divert his attention from what he was really planning.
Kite is a direct counter to this, he always has his En extended around him incredibly far, meaning that Hisoka couldn’t really pull any tricks like that.
Hisoka also tends to open his battles via using bungee gum in similar ways, so its likely that(if Kite gets his carbine) he’ll try to catch it like he did with Gatou, which would be a fatal mistake as even bungee gum would get shredded apart.
Also the main thing that makes Hisoka’s bungee gum so unpredictable is that he combines it with numerous other forms of Nen and his other Hatsu in order to make his tricks undetectable. Hisoka is going to be using multiple Hatsu as well as trying to hide the aura but not only would it be wasted on that, but Kite would still see it all thanks to En.
Hisoka is creative, but we gotta remember that his strategy still can be very predictable when you actively have an En field around you to detect anything.
Hisoka may be an exceptionally skilled physical combatant even against those with weapons, but the problem with Kite’s scythe is that it has that giant whirlwind. It *isn’t* just a normal scythe, it has that powerful whirlwind that would still injure Hisoka heavily if he blocked it with bungee gum or even grabbed it mid lunge.
Hisoka is also best at fighting when he knows the circumstances and is in a space with set rules, he was very quickly overwhelmed when he let Chrollo set the terms for their fight(not that Chrollo wasn’t a little too much to begin with, but it still shows how much he struggles in fights where he himself can’t anticipate his enemy prior.
We also can’t forget that Hisoka’s most impressive feat(I wouldn’t count his fight with Chrollo as a feat for him because he got outplayed) would be killing Shalnark or beating Gon, neither of which are that impressive.
Is Hisoka incredibly strong? Yes. Does he have actual showings that would put him above Kite? No.
We know of Hisoka’s high tier in HXH, but we know the same is true for Kite. People can debate about whether Hisoka could have replicated the Pitou feat, but the point is that he *hasn’t* ever done so. He hasn’t done anything that impressive and is therefore over shadowed.
Hisoka also fights far worse as he is fighting more properly in order to have fun, meanwhile Kite “fights” to survive and doesn’t hesitate to instantly one shot his enemy if he has to end them.
    I’ll list more details later

Kite is better suited for hunting and surviving in nature, yeah. But I still do think that he would win against Hisoka. A one-armed Kite was worth more than CA arc Gon and Killua combined, and dealt *some* damage to Pitou, which is incredibly impressive considering Netero dealt about equal damage to Meruem. So a two-armed Kite most definitely has the upper edge against Hisoka here.
While Kite might be geared towards PvE, he still has a bunch of weapons which haven't been shown yet. Many of which could've assisted him directly in PvP and made the situation sticky for Hisoka. I think Hisoka stands a very good chance but I'm giving the win to Kite here, although he would take serious damage from Hisoka.

I think basically it comes down to random chance who wins, based on crazy slots.
If kite gets good rolls, especially to start with and in the right order that it's convenient to use them then he could win mid diff. But if he gets really bad rolls he doesn't stand a chance. Anywhere in the middle is fair game.
Like if kite rolls a close ranged weapon to deal with hisoka coming at him from a hundred metres away then that's a massive waste, and if he's fighting close up and rolls the rifle it's useless and a waste of a few seconds.

Pitou was nenless at the time though, so that’s another thing that has to be considered when talking feats.

I likeyour explanation. I think if Hisoka gets attack in one of Kite’s weapons, he would have died, but if he does not, he has more chance to win. I didn’t know about the databook scoring. I could have been bias since I want Hisoka to win every fight.
