Its pretty simple if you think about it. Gon's like a wild animal; had the Troupe met Gon before Kurapika and them on Whale Island, he would've most likely joined them.
Probably not. Gon fundamentally disagreed with the way the Troupe does business. Remember the arm-wrestling match he had with Nobunaga, where he called the man out for having no empathiy with his victims? NO way. Also the Troupe would have had no interest in him, he didn't have Nen at the time.
@@zufallrap he had no sympathy for wanting to kill Komugi
@@zufallrap he dind't had a problem wen killua said that he is an assasin and kills inocents, gon is just a asshole, he likes what is in his favor (gon had nen at the time, and the Troupe had interest, at least nobunaga did) (sorry for bad inglish)
One more difference, ants will not get NEN as that rabbit ant will not face Gon etc which got its nen node activation...so ants will get crushed easily
@@adityashrma4437 pokkel still gonna give em nen bro
I find the idea hilarious, but perfectly in-character, for Ging to be completely fine with Gon being a member of the Troupe. His reaction would be like, "Oh! You found some friends that you can rely on! That's just what I did. Good for you!" without any sort of compunctions about them being a gang of criminals.
Man, Gon and Killua joining the Phantom Troupe would have been a MASSIVE game changer, specialy for poor Kurapika who lost another two friends to the Troupe. I'm confident Kurapika would still plan on killing every member but would have problems focusing on killing Gon and Killua; he would certainly kill them if he had to, but man, that fight would break my heart. Thank God, Gon didn't accept the offer, it would be pretty strange for him to do it knowing what they did to Kurapika's clan and to many innocent people.
Yeaaaaaaah Gon only cared because it was Kurapuika's clan, not because of the massacre itself. Gon has no moral code.
I could see Gon betraying the Phantom Troupe the moment there isn't anything new to learn from them after a re-encounter with kurapika
@@yerikdizon lol even before that. he use random exam people as a bait to get hisoka badge number
After what they allegedly did.
@@aguywithalotofopinions412 Gon has a moral code, but just like everyone's moral code gets tested by life's trauma, his ideologies went through the same thing (most evident in the Ant arc). He is not deranged, he is just an emotional child with too much power.
I just wanna say those designs for PT Gon and Killua are top notch. Props to the artist.
I appreciate how your What If videos feel a lot less fan-fictony than most other content creators videos of the same ilk tend to. You treat them like a genuine think-piece; trying to understand the motives of the characters and how each decision ripples out and has their effect on the story.
A few things. 1) Shizuku is #8 of the Troupe. 2) I think Nobunaga would be amenable to going along with Kite, and I believe Gon would absolutely want to and thus drag along Killua. In other words, I believe the Chimera Ant Arc would occur just adding in Nobunaga. The Phantom Troupe doesn't have obligations in the downtime between heists. They're allowed to leave and do whatever they want as long as they answer Chrollo's call when it comes.
I'd go a step farther with #2. I'd say any troupe member would feel like it's their obligation to let Gon spend significant time with Kite even if they think his expedition is a waste of time. If the Troupe is task-mastering Gon to the degree they'd say "Wait a second this significant person from your past isn't specifically your dad, we're leaving." They wouldn't have let him take two-thirds of the prize cards to do the meet up in the first place. Which they'd still need to have invested weeks, at least, into getting, if they had any hope of passing the quiz.
They're probably, as a unit, be MORE amenable to waste time at this junction. Since they pretty much have to let Abengane and Hisoka find Chrollo and remove his curse. Before they can make contact with him.
@@durianthesleepy ya know what, agreed. That makes complete sense. There's no reason why they'd be completely amenable to him on Greed Island, and then be hardasses five minutes later during the Chimera Ant Arc. The only thing that would change is that during the Chimera Ant Arc they were getting Chrollo's nen back and then afterwards preparing for the fight with Hisoka. But those things aren't mutually exclusive, didn't take the entire time, and they have a strong sense of camaraderie as a group. Imo they'd be completely on board with very slightly postponing the fight with Hisoka (as long as they're assured to get Chrollo back) and help Gon simply because he's their teammate and they have nothing better to do. Which means you'd then have most, if not all, of the Phantom Troupe in the Chimera Ant Arc
How do you think Nobunaga AND Kite would do against Neferpitou? I think they might actually kill her at that point, which drastically changes things on the ant's side going forward.
Nobunaga and Kite also feel very similar in temperament, so I could see them getting along.
@@thermophile1695 I don't actually think they can defeat her, even working together. Not being taken off guard the way they would be in that situation. However, I do think they could escape with their lives and regroup (though personally I like the plot thread of Kite dying, so narratively I would still have Kite die being caught off guard)
Having the series focus on the Phantom Troupe somewhat as protagonists like this would be insane! And thinking about how the Succession War would change from having Gon and Killua on the boat instead of Kurapika and Leorio would be really interesting! I think in many ways it would make Kurapika an antagonist too
Without Kurapika on the Black Whale 1, Tsureidnich would be fish food. He doesn't have anyone who will teach him Nen. So, he doesn't have the time skip. He just has the "don't lie to me" beast.
Benjamin is the clear pick for the win.
I may be misremembering but wasn't it Theta who taught him nen? Or was it kurapika who let him know about it in the first place
@@maxomega3 Theta didn't want him to learn nen because of his bad personality, but Kurapika made him find out about it, which forced her to teach him nen.
@@lvlgng💯
depends on how tserriedniche ability works. theta would have no incentive to kill him so she would most likely end up lying again, and either need to tell him the truth about nen or possibly somehow become his through the nen beast ability. Plus, while none of his actual guards know nen to tell him about it, he has tons of faithful followers as well as a relationship with the one prince with the ability to make people nen users, he would find out eventually, that's why theta wanted to teach him, because it would have been someone else otherwise
Don't have to lie if no one asks you a question about Nen.
9:30 So... Hisoka kills/mortally wounds Killua.
Gon goes full rage mode on Hisoka.
Hisoka dies happy.
Ai revives Killua and even though Gon was willing to take the requests, Killua mentions that wishing to help people is ok.
Gon being in a trio or quartet with Nobunaga, Phinks and Uvogin would be terrifying to face so much might together or have him team up with Feitan or Franklin lol
I love these hypothetical scenarios! One question tho when are we gonna get the next part of the HxH iceberg?
Same I find them very fun and interesting.
yeah it’s been 3 months!!
Thinking back when Nobunaga asked Gon to join, i think this could foreshadow they will meet again.
I love watching what if videos like this. They give me so much to think about & it's fascinating to see how one small change can have drastic effects on where a series can go from how it is going currently
If Pakunoda had an ability to alter Gon memories making him remember Nobunaga cutting down the Foxbear instead of Kite that would make recruiting him a breeze plus the idea of Nobunaga training gon to use a sword would be brilliant, Gons Jajanken activation looks similar to Nobunaga's stance when he was waiting on Killua to attack.
Its scary to imagine this could have happen.
"I'd rather die than join you" forgetting that his best friend is a master assassin whom he watched ripping a person's heart out.
it would have been an interesting turn of events if the PT were in chimera ant in the thick of it. I think chrollo would have seen Gon and noticed hes lost something just like them and see his anger and his contempt for the world. I think chrollo could have encourage that rage and what might have happened had he been there when pitou broken his arm to by time. Chrollo being the devil on Gons shoulder telling him to kill everything.
Bro!!!!! This would be a fire what if 😂
It would be a manga panel with chrollo eyes in the back, the text covering the page with "KILL." "KILL." "KILL." with gon on his knees in the middle with his eyes dull.

Shizuku is #8, meaning Killua would have to take 9 in place for Pakunoda. And I personally think that Kurapika WOULD make his way onto the Black Whale. I feel that the information he received from Mizaistom he could have gathered on his own in the time it takes before the Black Whale departs. Meaning that the story would progress regularly with Gon and Killua being in the lower floors of the Black Whale, grouping up with Nobunaga, Phinks and Feitan in search of Hisoka. Possibly giving us the Gon Vs Hisoka rematch.
I think so too. He was already onto Tserriednich, he just didn't know it was a Kakin Prince. If he found out that 'the guy in the picture' would board the Black Whale, Kurapika would get himself on that ship. It would be less likely that he could've pulled strings through the Hunter Association, so no Tier 1, but he'd be able to board the lower tiers for sure through his connections with the underground.
I could definitely see this situation happening if Gon and Killua find out that the Troupe has a copy of Greed Island.
That way,, when they fail to bid for one, they make a deal with the Troupe instead of thinking about working for Battera.
Yo this one change would change EVERYTHING!! That's insane
Edit: also the part about Gon telling the troupe he'd rather die is so funny to me for no reason
The most important thing to remember is that in this timeline, hisoka still has bungee gum. Which has properties of both rubber and gum.
hey here are some others what if ideas-
1.what if meruem was never born
2.what if netero talked to meruem
3.what if netero allowed beyond netero to go to the dark continent

Just popped into my head about halfway through this video 😂
i would love more “what if?” style videos !
It’s odd but i have a hard time imagining how strong gon would be before/after reaching his max potential.
We saw his strength after sacrificing nen but it’s hard to tell that would equal his own real power. Uvo was a good comparison of what gon could do with his affinity after becoming a master but dam. It’s nuts
Did Uvo even have a hatsu
@@stevecollins4567 look up uvo vs the shadow guys. The 1990 version better to me, at any rate one of uvo’s techniques is a punch similar to how gong’s but a lot stronger
I am not so sure the ant arc would turn out the way the say. The reason it got so bad in the first place was because of Killua and Gon not killing Rammot, letting Colt save him, learning about nen, and all the other ants learning as well. If Gon and Killua don't stay with Kite, I think it would have turned out much differently. For one, Rammot will instead die as soon as Kite finds him, and Colt as well if Kite finds him. That means the ants won't learn about nen existing, Pokkle won't teach them how it works, and so on.
Chrollo would've had to make Gon think that everyone else was in on killing Kite
Speaking of Nobunaga, he is the only troupe member whose hatsu we never saw. He seems like an Emitter or an Enhancer.
Enhancer, unknown ability, but implied to be easily replaced, so likely something very simple.
@@Sicarius_Avindar Wing mentioned something about Enhancers not actually needing a special ability from what I remember because they're the best all-around, so it's also possible that he just uses all applications of Nen with his sword. This may explain why we didn't see a Hatsu yet. But if he does have one, it'd probably be something to do with his En like how Uvogin uses Ko.
If I were to guess, I'd say what he does is Enhance his swords edge, making it sharper, maybe some Emission to make it like a buzzsaw.
With such a narrow focus, and Nen Restrictions being what they are, that would be a very very powerful ability, but also still simple to replace.
Though, that would also be clichéd as hell.
@@Sicarius_Avindar I mean, yeah, but there are also so many wacky abilities in HxH that a more clichéd one is fine by me
@@Sicarius_Avindar Nah it would be an application of En similar to how Gon used it during the Hunter Exam arc.
He has a zone around him in which he can instantly cut that enters it.
It's been a while since I've seen a nen world video, man those new chapters of hxh last year were a special time
@Slevin Channel yea I know, I've watched alot of his stuff. Always something to talk about in hxh.
If Gon and Killua where in the Troupe, they would probably have spectated the Hisoka vs Chrollo match in Heaven's Arena along with their mentor Nobunaga. If the three of them are there, I wonder if they could have stopped Hisoka from killing Shalnark and Kortopi. Also, I wonder if Chrollo would steal and use Gon and Killua's nen abilities in his match against Hisoka.
Gon’s Hatsu wouldve been useless for Chrollo to use in that high level match
God's speed would have made it a VERY short fight.
When we first see the troupe there is a line that mentions that this is the first time in years that all members are together. So I think gon, killua and nobunaga would join the ant team with kite as they have nothing better to do and it would sound interesting and good training opportunities for gon and killua. Kite I think could survive as nobunaga has a strong Quick Draw that could save kite from losing his arm and with 2 strong nen users and killua's instinct to run thanks to the needle all of them could Escape. With the post Escape training and netero being either the teacher or the head of biscuit's nen school he could call on her for training or wing could call on her as she was his master to train them.
I wonder what Kurapika would think
I could see a long term plot line where the black whale situation ends up killing Kurapika, Chrollo, and possibly several other troupe members. The remaining legs of the spider could then recruit Gon to join them to oppose Gyro’s takeover of meteor city. This could pay off several things that were once set up: Gon joining the troupe, Gon and Gyro meeting again, Gon and Hisoka fighting again in a life or death battle, etc
NewWorldReview is fr our here keeping the Hunter inside us alive. Thanks man 🙏🏽
"Master Nobunaga" is best idea ever!
I love the editing style of your channels
I think everything you said was on point and accurate. If Gon and Killua did decide to join the phantom troupe, everything you said feels as though it would happen canonically.
However, there is one thing I disagree on…
After Gon, Killua, and Nobunaga complete Greed Island and Gon gets the accompany card he needs to go see Kite, instead of Nobunaga going with them, I think he would let them go on their own (a Phantom Troop decision) as a kind of “graduation” from him being their mentor. Just like how biscuit did when they learned all they could from her.
Nobunaga and the rest of the troop would feel as though the two boys were ready to go off on their own to do what they wanted, then trust them to regroup when called on or when needed.
The Cimera Ant arc would then continue as it does in the cannon universe but instead of Gon and Killua being merciful and holding a lot of value of other lives like Kites’ and some of the ants, during the Greed Island arc and training alongside Nobunaga, Gon and Kilua would lose the ability to empathize and begin to kill mercilessly.
Kite quickly realizes this could cause issues in the future as he begins to notice the two boys never hold back when being faced with an enemy ant. Their dark aura makes Kite realize their reckless abandonment could put all three of them in danger if not controlled probably.
The two boys would have to learn to empathize again under their new mentor, Kites’ teachings in order to successfully complete the mission of exterminating all the ants.
Bonus: Kite dies during the same fight with Pitou. And It would still end up being for the same reason as in the cannon universe; he is trying to protect Gon and Killua. However, upon witnessing Kite getting his arm severed and them being forced to escape without him, this makes the two of them realize how much they cared for their mentor and their friend Kite.
Thus beginning a redemption arc of the boys gaining back their compassion and empathy towards other, effecting how the Cimera Ant story arc will end.
this is a fun 'What if?' scenario!
I also don't think that Zeno and Silva would be thrilled to hear that Killua joined the Troupe. It would cause an uneasy alliance, but the entire Zoldyck family would make it clear that to them; their family comes first and the Troupe second, if not necessary at all. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up using Something to kill all members of the Troupe but the Zoldyck members and then sealing it inside an active volcano.
I feel like Kurapika would find some way to get aboard the Black Whale 1 regardless since his goal is the eyes that the 4th prince has. I wouldn't be surprised if he found a way to get a job as a bodyguard anyway. That or he would get there by entering through the lower levels which would lead Kurapika to encounter the phantom troupe yet again, but this time with Gon and Killua in the mix perhaps even working with the troupe this time to gain access to the upper floors he wants to get to in exchange for help dealing with Hisoka.
Why? He soley board the Black Whale for the eyes. He is now the leader of Light Nostrade’s organization. HE wouldnt have boarded the whale if not for the eyes
He doesnt even know the Troupe are onboard, further reason Kurapika would just board on whim
Why would he be a body guard for no reason? He is already running an orgniazation and concentrating on recovering his eyes
considering Tsureidnich have the majority of the remaining crimson eyes, Kurapika would have eventually found that out through his blackmarket connections and found some other way to board the black whale. being a hunter he still have the chance to enter as a bodyguard but if he missed that chance he will end up infiltrating the lower level like the troupe putting him in the troups and hisoka's path much sooner(or not since black whale is pretty big)
though in this scenario, what I think would be more interesting would be if Gon and Killua being Free-spirited, encounters Tsureidnich and ends up telling and teaching him about Nen. but Killua sensing danger from Tsureidnich under the influence of illumi's needle ends up lying to him to slow his progress but instead triggers his 'Dont Lie' Succession Nen beast putting himself in danger and eventually forces Gon and Killua to fight Tsuriednich. A battle of Geniuses.

@@nenmaster5218 Hmmmm.
I’d say that Chain Emperor is an Umbrella ability, in that it started as one ability but developed into multiple. They’re still reliant on the original Nen Ability, but are now individual abilities. That said if someone were to seal the original ability, I think the others would cease to function.
As for alloy type transmutation, what gives you the impression it’s rarely explored? I don’t know if we have the information to determine that. Transmutation is a very versatile branch of Nen, and honestly I think it would be a fairly obvious use for it.
@@Neuviletteiudexofmemes Please re-read my commment. Alloy is the thing we've only seen 1 of: Bungee GUm, which is the only transmuted Substance made out of TWO others.
@@Neuviletteiudexofmemes Umbrella?
@@nenmaster5218 So you mean explored in the narrative itself? I interpreted that to mean the world at large, which I would argue we don’t have enough data to be certain of. Most Nen abilities we’ve seen are fairly diverse, so picking a singular type of ability to say “we haven’t seen it explored enough” seems premature. Unless we’re talking about straight enhancement.
And yes, an umbrella ability, likened to an umbrella company. Basically I’m just drawing a parallel, it’s not an in universe term. Effectively a central ability which other abilities fall under, even if their still partially distinct.
Would’ve been cool to have a mini training arc with Gon and killua with the spiders.
I could see Gon and Killua following a path where they joined the spider, albeit not as full troop members at the time, following kites fight with pitou
With time with the troupe showing they were a sort of family, or close friends, Gon would see a side to them with frustration.
But, reuniting with Kites corpse, the rage and pain could push him to understand or use the spiders to meet an end

This is all assuming that Gon would've actually stuck around with the troupe. Yeah, it's only been shown that one can only leave the Troupe via death, but given Gon's personality and sensitivities, I seriously doubt he'd run with them for very long, especially given that Kurapika has a pretty major beef with them. I can see the Succession War arc turning into Gon & maybe Killua having a moral assessment and ultimately siding with Kurapika and taking on the Troupe from the inside out, whilst also dealing with Hisoka's antics.

I think Kurapika would still find a way to go on the ship considering how many eyes are there.
I also think he and gon might fight. He's never going to forgive gon for joining the troop and if Kurapika goes after one of the troop and they're with gon at the time, gon will have no choice but to protect his troop members. No doubt gon won't want to fight Kurapika, but with Kurapikas rage and gon wanting to protect his friends I think it would be inevitable
I think it would’ve been better story with Gon still in business, I would be much happier if Gon was still the main character. However, kurapika definitely made this arc interesting, although following the phantom troupe could be just as interesting. It doesn’t make too much sense given the fact that Kurapika’s clan died because of them and why would Gon join them, but if they did, imagine that extra elemental to Kurapika’s revenge. He wants to kill the phantom troupe but there is now a dilemma. Would he fight his former friends?

Hey, great videos! I wanted to know if it was possible to get an updated version of who will die next in the phantom troupe... And maybe Shalnark's death was predicted or something like that, and I would like to know your thoughts on who's next... and from one of your videos I remember you saying that Nobugana was gonna die, but I don't think he'd be next on the bucket list from what his fortune reads. i feel like kurapika wouldve still made it on there. Remember he declined the first time he asked but changed his mind when he found out the 4th prince had the remaining scarlet eyes.
kurapika would have jumped in the black whale 1 anyway he was after tserriednich and the eyes of his clan, he would have applied as a bodyguard and would have been recruited the exact same way however from this point we don't know how he would act since he got few intels compared to the timeline where he is in contact with the zodiacs.
princess wobble may have died because kurapika processed the situation a bit too slow and then he may end up rejected in the lower levels where he might come accross gon and kirua, discover they joined the phantom troop, end up teaming up with hisoka to kill the phantomp troop, if leolio got on the whale for any reason it would be incredible to see how he can only watch his friends fight to death, without being able to stop them due to his clear lack of power, that would be an hella interesting arc
I do believe that Kurapika would still be on the boat, just not in the capacity as a guard for Prince Woble. If I'm not mistaken, he would still have business with Prince Tserriednich due to him owning some of the Kurta Clan's eyes, which Kurapika wants back.

I think Kurapika would still board the black whale 1 as part of the hunter association, because it he knows that one of the Kakkian princes has the last of the Kurta eyes. This was the main reason he decided to help Leorio in the first place.
Did you ever talk about how neons/chrollos prediction of the dead spiders is finally coming to life in current manga?
Thinking about it, if kurapika hadn't met Gon and killua, he might have joined the troupe anyway. Figuring it was just the easiest way to achieve their goal of getting greed island. But now, it's Gon, killua, and the rest of the phantom troupe on greed Island. Nobunaga probably would've trained Gon, and I'm thinking maki would train killua. Due to their training being more specific, as opposed to bisky's training which was general. I think Gon would've unlocked jajanken half way through greed Island. And killua might have godspeed/speed of lightning by then too. Then i think they would encounter the ants in meteor city. Gon would get my fanfic power up of "all at once" where he combines all 3 of his attacks. And killua would probably have something ridiculous, like electro magnetism.
Bro the editor went insane
I'm trying to imagine Aunt Mito's reaction when she learns Gon joined the troupe.
so many broken children in HxH. the phantom troupe developed due to the circumstances of Meteor City where there is such a high volume of broken children all in the same place. probably many of the characters in this story could have been a phantom troupe (or some equivalent group) member if they met the troupe or each other at the right point in their lives.
Killua: “I’m not a mass murderer, I’m an assassin …”
“…well, the difference is one’s a profession and the others a mental sickness”
I mean even without melereon and ikalgo i think with kite back in play (i see him surviving in this scenario) that sure shoot knuckles and morel might still die, but i see kite making up for their loss, especially since he has so many good abilities we didnt see used that might have been well tailored to fight youpi or shaipouf, youpi especially considering the loss of killua's god speed
Everyone in Sacramento wants to see that episode
I think Gon would have joined if he had a different background. He would never betray a friend unless they betray him first. Maybe if he were raised by the Zoldyck family and ran away, or if he lived in Meteor city, he would have gladly join the spiders.
From there I have no idea what will happen 😂 it's a conflict of interests for Gon between Kurapika and the Troupe I feel. Maybe he would try to persuade Nobunaga to leave but if Nobu was involved he couldn't plus he may try to kill Gon right there out of loyalty to Troupe. It could get very messy. And Troupe could want to be on whale for Kurapika making it more messy. It feels complicated and my brain isn't up to the task 😭
