Razor was HIM. Quickly became one of my favorite characters in the series. All by himself contested in a game dodgeball all by himself. They needed 3 people just to catch the ball from Razor .
Gon and Killua had the excuse of being slightly weaker then Tsetsegerra and co (mid level hunters) until they trained for bombers but Hisoka was right there with them. We are talking about the guy who dominated every single fight he was in except the Chrollo wipe and this one guy could barely fight with Razor. The blood knight crazy guy did not want a fight at all with him. Even the troupe were like school children trying to annoy the teacher in front of him.
Gon’s charged jajanken is only quoted “as powerful as razors” even when razor is not at full power yet so he can easily muster the nen that is able to send someone into another country with relative ease while not at full power and even gon’s jajanken that sends a chimera ant flying to another country uses less than half of the time that gon uses to charge his jajanken that he uses and matched razor’s.
I mean I think the after effect would be a lot more scarier for Nanika to do that the amount of people who would have to die to fulfill that wish is innumerable
They didn't want the smoke, there definitely would've been casualties on their end. So they respected him and his authority enough to do things the right way
To make a counter point... I don't think Hazor has the abilities in the spell cards, those are given by the massive nen circuit that goes around the island, what he does is serving as the regulator of the emissive system that is needed to make them work.
^This right here.^ This is the answer. The island and the cards themselves contain the nen "spells". Razor is using his impressive EMISSION ability to add the power to the cards. He doesn't define what the cards do, he just gives them the "energy" needed to work. It's just like the game cartridge itself. It only works if the person using it has access to their aura. That's because the cartridge uses a bit of the person's aura to activate the teleportation ability that was inscribed inside of it. If this wasn't the case, then the only option left would be that someone developed a "nen ability" to be able to make game cartridges that teleport people to a specific area... a super-hyper-specific-and-niche nen ability that would make NO sense.
That still shows how much Nen he has, he can literally lower the entire island, and scare off the phantom troupe AND create clones AND still have so much power he can make three super nen characters have to work with tons of effort just to stop a ball he hits
I'm glad that Razor is getting attention he deserves, but I also think that you overhyped him a bit. I doubt he directly has all the abilities that cards have. Those are probably just nen programs that use Razor's nen as a fuel, so no constant nen drain for him and no direct way to use those abilities for him
Definitly right. Especially when we know that Togashi ranked Razor at Great (lowest proficiency level), he does not have the mastering of Nen one would require to accomplish all these feats
Ability having restriction that it has to be used by someone else, on top of cards being already very restricted would probably give them very low nen cost. And I assume Razor probably has more GM abilities we've never seen, since he has to oversee whole game pretty much on his own, but i doubt they're as powerful and versatile as spells
@@peponig.7894 I think you misunderstood togashi's ranking system It's not a great is the worst ECT.. It's about how much of their total potential they are able to access .. being ranked at great means that razor has 2 full stages to improve by ..
@@seanhutt4621 fuck thats scary if you think about it considering his current strength, dude at full potential would definitely be stronger than most of the hxh world.
I always assumed part of his immense power came from the subconscious limitations that he must never leave Greed Island, always fallow the rules of the game, always use a portion of his power on the cards, and always enforce the rules of the game. So his power only comes from dedicating his life to this one specifically thing, and that if he abandoned the game he would be far weaker.
Wiki: "Nen is subjective but to what degree is unknown" If your a HxH-Fan, maybe my rant will be of interest for you but dont read if you dont want to. Togashi refusing to tell us the basics is hurting Conjuration-Fans most and outright prevents any Games or Game-Mods (Fiy, Minecraft would be ideal to house a Nen-Mod) to be made. How is how much it costs to conjure something decided? I see 4 options: Mass, Complexity, Individual Feelings, Group-Feelings Aka Economy! In Star Trek they literally have Conjuration-Nen but its called Repilcator and they even outright say about its function "Gold is one of the simpliest things so its easiest to make." Does Nen work the same or is molecular Complexity irrelevant and its simple "The bigger something is, the more Energy it costs"? Problem is, they're all exploitable. Exploitable af. But i guess im fine with them all except individual Feelings cause that would mean i could just go to an Orphan and gain Mountains of Diamonds by telling him "Hey, kid you just happen to have been born with Magic to make this thingy called Diamonds. It aint worth much but hey, if you make me a bunch i give you Water and Bread." That doesnt sound like it should work
This makes me REALLY wonder how powerful Ging actually is. Now Razor is a beast, HOWEVER, does most his power only apply to Greed Island. Or can he use his natural abilities in the real world. Remember, Greed Island and the real world has different rules. But back to Ging. Togashi needs to go ahead and open up his true power to the audience. If Ging is the master/mentor of Razor and Kite, that says alot about his power. I want to see him go all out in battle.
He’s a monster. I love characters who hide their abilities and who are masters of their respective power systems. Reason I like sukuna so much lol, but man I think ging has a really cool and unique power, the fact he created something like greed island is mind boggling.
Ging might be stronger than Netero was against the King of ants, since 1) Netero was really old, way past his prime, and 2) Ging might have an insane nen power. If Gon, without any training, just taping into his raw potential, was able to annihilate Pitou (and arguably be a threat to the King according to Pitou), imagine Ging's strenght/power level...
@@hunbi1875 as i said, he did it without any training, just raw potential. There is no doubt that if he trained for 15 more years instead of doing that, he would be even more powerful, by a huge margin, and would have developped insane nen techniques.
@@JetFiiire Bruh..., Killua guessed it would take up to literal decades of endless TRAINING for Gon to reach that lvl, that was faaar more than just an unlocking his raw potential thing. The normal Gon would more likely never even reach that lvl at all, cause he ain't Netero who just dedicates years of his life to only training and nothing else.
Razor: I'm a piece of human trash, so I killed and murdered people dead. Life is pointless. Ging: PERFECT! 😮 Wanna help me make a video game? Razor: bet.
It took Hisoka, Killua and Gon working together to just barely beat Razor at the dodgeball game. Razor didn't even regain his power he used to create the referee in the match only from the other puppets that were playing on the field. Then there's the fact that Razor's nen was powering up most of the spells in the game, this man is an absolute unit in terms of nen aura and what he's capable with it.
@@aceclover758 I'm going based off of what Liam said in the video, since I had completely forgotten that part-with the spells. Everything else I noted I'll backup if needed
@@aceclover758Still begs the question: who supplies them? Obviously spells are constantly being used and must therefore consume nen. Or are you saying that the spells can be used infinitely without nen costs? Sure if the Greed Island is just a pure nen creation but it was extremely clear that it exists in HxH world. So yeah, even if the spells were created by another Game Master, their use after that must require someone to continue to power it up. It also seems that everyone who activates the spell do not complain of their nen being siphoned. With 40+ spells and at least a few hundred playe (or even just a hundred) will surely deplete the nen infused in the spells.
Agreed. Razor will always be an absolute monster. No doubt. I'm still curious as to how powerful Hisoka is currently (after the Chrollo deathmatch). Because that question will likely continue to bother me regarding these hypothetical fights. Though, I'd be rooting for Razor. He is a very cool character.
I feel like Razor isn't the sole battery for the Spell Cards on Greed Island, I feel like he had a role in setting them up and his Aura probably does partially fuel them but I think Greed Island might have a VERY undetectably minor Aura drain on everyone there, like such a low drain that users don't detect it because it's less than their aura replenishment rate. If people regenerate say 5% of their aura an hour and Greed Island drains 0.5% of their aura per hour. multiplied across all the people there on the island it would be more than enough to fuel all the spell cards.
Maybe Razor employs a "restriction and covenant" in his use of Nen. He likely promised himself or Ging that he would only use his Nen powers within the confines of Greed Island; he also is aware that his powers are constantly in effect inside the Island and that is the emission system of Greed Island. Take note, In the Hunter x Hunter world; it is known that if someone continuously uses Nen without rest, it can cause fatigue or even death. Razor's covenant likely involves his life, as he cannot leave Greed Island without breaking the covenant. This ensures his loyalty to the game and its creator, as he is bound to the Island by his own Nen abilities.
Keep in mind Razor was a criminal just like the Troupe. When he came across them, he was probably thinking these younger generation crooks ain't half bad
@@MeretHeret the spiders are not cowards. but they do understand there is always a "bigger fish". that's why they accept death so easily. i lost because i was weak. so to avoid the really strong, they do not make sudden actions when the leader is not around. when there is someone really strong that they need to attack, they all gang up together to defeat it. when killua's father killed a spider, they didn't attack the zoldyck, because they know its just suicide.
@@MeretHeret That's obviously nonsense, the only so far known human besides Netero and maybe Ging who even stands any chance against that many Troupe members at once is Beyond.
I wonder if Genthru's Countdown was intended as a much simpler example of a shared nen ability (since it requires all three Bombers to detonate) to compare and contrast with the elaborate spell system.
like you mentioned, in my opinion the biggest indication of the monstrosity of razor's strength is the fact that hisoka didn't want to fight him. Not only that, he never entertained the thought, looked like razor in a hostile or funny way or tried to antagonize him at any point. He was on his best behavior. There's levels
To be fair, I don't think Razor would fight Hisoka, and Hisoka could probably tell that. Razor wouldn't be bothered by anything Hisoka did, anyway. Dodgeball was the best Hisoka was going to get.
i think Hisoka simply just treated Razor as NPC. No matter how powerful and interesting, he is bound by the rules and his duty. Razor's devotion is 101%, man was a serial killer, and just because a man believed him and entrusted something to him, looking at him like he could be a better man was enough to change him. By all means Razor is still scary killing machine, but he grew so large he contained himself - bromance from Ging shaped him - and Hisoka either consciously or not realised he cannot "Break" him to make him fight him. Although if Hisoka assaulted him? He should defend himself or Razor would just deport him from the game. If it's the first one and Hisoka still found no interest then maybe it was the thing like in Bleach. When you're too powerful the people cant tell how big your aura is. Which would indicate that he is quite a big way above Chrollo. Hisoka was also different during that part of the act, that was the first time he was close to being friends with Gon and the squad. He was out of himself a little, or maybe he let his facade down and was himself. What it reminds me of is a clown taking off his make-up/mask and finally showing himself. I don't think Hisoka is someone looking for friends, but i think under his crazy personality, he still has normal needs and intentions. He is unhinged, but so is Gon if you think about it. Hisoka is redeemable or at least has good values. I don't think Hisoka is evil or stupid enough to pick a fight he can't win yet. With Chrollo, he was too sure of himself, and he has learned his lesson. He never went after Netero for example - because he knew he stands no chance(for now)
Or it wasn't shown. Just like during hunter exam when we didn't even know hisoka was egging those examiners in a fight. There's no way razor is stronger than chrollo or those monsters in zoldyk family. Hisoka even tried to fight netero.
The fact that all cards take nen from him could also mean that his ability to store nen is immense, if he can use the whole island like a nen tank he may be able to surpass a royal guard in aura amount.
@@ENELGaming If the cards respond to nen programming it makes more sense that the code being executed is in one place and the card just does a call command to the server, which would explain them not working outside the island.
@@ENELGaming 😊and where does that nen COME FROM? From Jesus? It was specifically stated that Razer HANDLES the emmision system. It uses his NEN. Jesus Christ you phantom fanbois.
even with the restrictions one thing sadly not given credit are the sheer spread of abilities of these spell cards whether be teleportation constantly knowing where another person is and if you go rewatch or reread greed island you truly realize just how crazy that ability is. if he wanted to i genuinely believe he could beat godspeed killua and even chimera ant arc gon (not adult gon that amp is too crazy) honestly as a huge bisky fan i believe razor could at least feasibly win fights with her and maybe kill her just because his sheer versatility as well as being the best show of an emitter in the series.
@@cult9107 I don’t think greed island spells could simply be used by Razor outside of the context of the game though. Greed Island itself is one big Nen system and following the rules of the “game” is probably a necessary restriction to produce the level of Nen powers seen in Greed Island cards that sometimes far outclass abilities shown by individual characters. If Razor and the other Greed Island game masters could simply use the powers we see in the game as their own Nen abilities, that would be absurd. Breath of Archangel alone would make you the richest person on the planet. Definitely while not operating greed island though, Razor would have an immense amount of aura and is probably the strongest Emitter in the series so far
Biscuit is probably stronger than him in a raw physical sense. But her class is Manipulation, and he is Emission, which is a very poor matchup for her since he can attack from range. There's no way he doesn't beat her.
@@Yonkage-ik5qb You're kidding me if you think Bisky a transmuter has more power than Razor. Razor easily beat Gon's Jajanken 2x with his normal ko. Dude is busted powerful in how he matches enhancers at their charged up power. I think physically Razor is only below Uvogin, but in real combat Bisky will probably win because of her insane combat experience. I'm pretty sure despite being OP in aura capacity, Razor probably lacks in combat IQ and skill. Give him a tower to sit on and provide artillery in war though he would be unstoppable.
One of the reasons Razor is so powerful is probably that he has a restriction to greed island itself. He can only stay on that island and once he leaves it he dies. Giving him a huge boost in power on the island but cannot leave. It's probably the condition set for getting off death row and becoming less of a threat to the world.
Are we getting nen ranking videos for conjurers, emitters, manipulators, specialist anytime soon? I enjoy the enhancer and transmuters ranking videos but want more please.
Pretty sure Razor only provides the energy needed for the cards to function, not controlling their usage. He's an emitter, not a manipulator. The nen circuits are what tell the nen energy what to do, ala the finger band Gon got during the Heaven's Arena arc that would automatically snap if charged with nen.
Everyone he came in contact with backed down so he must be a beast. He was playing a game and he was scary. Think about a pissed off Razor. Hisoka didn’t even look his direction.
A good in-universe rationalisation for why we haven’t seen Razor anymore after Greed Island is that he probably has some kind of limitation like if he leaves the island he dies; it would also make sense if that was used as a bargain chip to get Razor out of death row - basically promising the govt that he would be bound in a prison - Greed Island.
The most confusing part about all of this is that apparently no one else thinks this. This was my assumption form the start. He has a life sentence on that island as part of the restrictions. Also not te forget that he also has to follow all of the game rules for the rest of his life. Like kicking intruders out. This is also just a plain win for the governemnt, he is now shackled with a bunch of nen rules which for starters keep him far away. And probably even completely from attacking people not on the island. Even his abilitys can probably only reach a certain distance around the islands shore. I guess every bumbling idiot could get so strong he could snap Meruem's neck with 1 thumb if the nen restriction was: "I can't leave this 1m diameter circle on the ground alive." and then staying on there for a few days. The problem is that Meruem would recognize that and just stay out of reach. I mean we have seen lots of abilits getting beaten by exploiting the restrictions. In this case just staying out of range. And allowing yourself ranged abilitys would negate the whole point. Kurapika is used as the early reference for the strength you can achieve with a laser focus and if you are willing to throw your life away.
You've also got to consider that the volleyball game itself is probably his nen ability, and the framework of the game and its restrictions probably multiply his power in a way that no other user benefits from
I think you've got it wrong relative to Razor having the ability to replicate every spell card. I think Razor is just a massive nen battery and that there are systems in places to convert the power he outputs into the various spells.
I think there is something about being on greed island that makes him stronger. Like a game master boost. A good cobtrol would be to see him perform outside the game
I kinda disagree with the idea that razor is stronger inside of greed island. I get where you're coming from, but the limitations would multiply the nen being used for the spells, not all of the nen he uses, so he'd still have less aura than normal. This probably makes the spell cards require little aura, although its still probably fairly taxing with how often spell cards are used.
Great video, but saying that Razor was nerfed during the volleyball game because his aura was being used to power the spell cards is a bit of a stretch. I’m pretty sure that the way it works is the body almost instantly replaces used aura. For example, when Gon uses 1,800 to 2,000 units of aura for his Jajanken attack, that aura isn’t just gone from his body forever, rather his body replaces the used aura. I assume the spell cards work the same way, that is, when each card was first created, Razor put some of his aura into it to get it to work, but his body just replaced the used up aura almost instantly.
Razor is totally fascinating. But one correction-- Nanika's power has more conditions than Razor and the spell cards, and the conditions are all very heavy. 1. Possess someone (Alluka). 2. A third party must wish. 3. The third party does not choose when Nanika/Alluka offers them a chance to wish. 4. Alluka/Nanika must address the person using their name. 5, 6, 7:The third party must complete three requests in order to make a wish. 8. The same person cannot wish twice in a row. 9,10. If the person fails four requests, they and the person they love most die. If the debt is heavy, more people die. 11. The price goes up if the wish is big. 12. Nanika's face must change in order to grant wishes. 13. In order to heal, Nanika must touch the person. 14. Nanika falls asleep after granting wishes (maybe only healing, it's kind of inconsistent). (The person Nanika loves most in the world can bypass some conditions) That's my count, anyway.
I do not forget, what Togashi forgot is the "collaborative and restriction nem" that the creators of Geed island used to make the "card magic" and the administrator Super power, this "collaborative nem" based on oaths and restrictions, "collaborative nem restricted in one area" is the most powerful thing that Togashi forgot. Togashi's mistake is to make the mob be destroyed so easily because if only 5 shadow beasts worked in collaborative nem in which they can only use their nem in York shine they would be as powerful as Razor was, it being impossible for the Genei Riodan to defeat them so easy.
It is also possible that Togashi did not forget and the mob, for their own reasons, just did not want to abide by such restrictions. Or that such a project requires means, knowledge and skills or whatever that they did not possess.
IIRC nen can be imbued into items forever, especially one created with such passion. I think Ging and friends cracked the code of such capability and thoroughly used that knowledge to make greed island work. IMO, the cards are imbued with nen rigorously made one by one of course all throughout the development of the game. So Razer doesn't have to expend nen energy to keep the island running. He does, however, have to "debug" whatever issued the game may encounter, just like the other GMs would have to do on their side. As a game master he has access to special abilities within the game, but it did not say he was one of the makers of it. So we don't really know how they made the game work. I think Ging was the one who coded all the nen, and he needed help with the nen types to make it work. This would be distasteful of course, since it would be unrealistic in the HxH sense, of things. I would like to think that Razer did have a hand in designing some of the aspects of the game. The reason being, just like what an IT company would have their workers do, they divide the workload.
The power of the greed island spell cards don't come from razer being incredibly strong, they come from how restrictive the nen contract probably is. 1. Each card can only be used on 1 island 2. Can only be obtained in a specific way 3. Probably can't be used by razer himself (except the game master cards) 4. Can only be used by someone wearing a ring from a VERY rare game Kurapika wasn't an extremely powerful nen user the second he learned nen. He just made his nen abilities so specialized that they became powerful against a specific group of people.
I think what makes Razor capable of utilizing his nen in so many different ways in regard to the greed islands card mechanics is due to the large restrictions put on greed island and its players, via how they get into the game, them needing wear a ring, etc. Though I definitely think he’s a great nen user regardless
Liscensed or not, everyone in the series is a "hunter" in that they all want something. Right now, all razor wants is redemption. Someday, there will be a reason for him to return to the story to help out, but right now, he's needed on greed island
One thing is that Gon had a lot more power and mastery over Nen in the Chimaera Ant arc than in Greed Island, so it might not be fully accurate to measure Knuckle’s judgement of Gon against the dodgeball fight. Gon was a fair bit weaker back then. Razor didn’t quite tank the kind of hit that made Morel scared
4:40 with all do respect to your videos, which are fun to watch - "at least an order of magnitude" is factor 10 or higher. Factor 3 is less than half of an order of magnitude (3 power 2 = 9 < 10), factor 2 is less than 1/3 of an order of magnitude.
i would like to point out that he only is confirmed to make most of the spells work, not all. this means that he could have as little as 21 nen abilities in spells, along with ruler and 14 devils makes his minimum number of nen hatsus at 23, not 43.
Lol I can just imagine the conversation with ging. G man: "Look I'm going to lock you up either way. So would your rather be killed or stuck in a cell. Or You wanna be chained down to my project and have some fun with me"
Razor is a beast, I would argue he crushes even Hisoka in a fight, I mean, Hisoka broke several fingers by catching a ball reflected by a devil making it weaker. If Razor had no responsibility, he could leave the game and no longer contribute aura to it, he'd be a true force to be reckoned with.
It would have been cool to see Razor destroy some chimera ant officers that somehow got to Greed Island in a similar way to the phantom troupe fighting Zazan's forces in Meteor City.
QUESTION FOR MY FELLOW FANS: Is Nen Anti-Self-Betterment? I mean, we all know how the Myth that Therapy is a s-h-a-m-e should go-away already, but the Question is this: How do Restrictions and Limitiations react to Self-Improvement and/or Therapy? If i fear Spider, set an Activation-Requirement to be 'touch a spiders' and then go to Therapy, HAVE I BEEN SMART? OR HAVE I BEEN DUMB?
The phrase "order of magnitude" is used incorrectly in this video. Here, it is used to describe a power two or three times that of Gon's, which would mean that it is a multiple of Gon's power. However, an order of magnitude is raised to an exponetial power above the base value. For example, in base 10, the orders of magnitude are 10, 100, 1000, 10000, etc...
How abt that: Razor is a convicted criminal. Maybe the condition for letting him live was confining him on the island. Thus a Binding vow could've been made giving razor greater power in exchange for killing him should he leave greed island
I'm surprised that in a world where limitation can make you invincible (see Kurapika), no mob boss was shown to have a safe heaven where multiple guards use abilities that are limited to "can only be used in that place" and "only to protect that one person".
My theory is that razor's immense power may have something to do with nen condition.. like being locked on the island (he's a prisoner after all) or something
Easy mistake, and you’re using the word right, but the spelling is slightly off. I believe you mean “fare”, it’s pronounced the same but is a different word, which you probably realized as soon as I “corrected” you. Good on you opting for the less used term, love seeing people use unusual words
And ofc in good old English style, there are several meanings to the word “fare” just like there are with “fair”, just to make sure it’s even more confusing
I think multiple restrictions give a multiplicative boost to hatsu instead of additive. A lot of the cards are very OP and even with plenty of restrictions, Razor would have to have a lot of aura reserve to make them work.
I don't think he had 41 abilities, the game (or specifically probably one of the other admins) likely just outsources his emitter aura, using it for cards and reducing his max aura capacity while the network is online. I don't think he can replicate the effect of the emissive cards on his own
Always tought the cards were more like nen tools, conjurated by a GM, and Razor as the GM in charge of providing the aura necesary for the spell cards to work.
If razor is the one powering all the cards, and the theory that Ging used the pregnancy stone to have gon is true, does that make razor gon’s other dad?
Maybe its like with the boxing guy and his pentagram in the ring. Maybe its similar to that. Aslong as he stays on GI he can make a lot possible without using to much NP. Also dont forget that the players can turn items into cards, also things they shaped themself, like Gons giant rock.
Glad to see Razor getting some heat. The guy probably beats every Troupe member every day of the week, twice on Sundays, and i think is easily around Zodiacs level.
Been a few years since I last watched the greed island arc, so correct me if I'm wrong. My headcanon is that everything Razor can do is under the limitation that he can't leave greed island. Ever. Basically he traded the deathpenalty for house arrest on an island where he is virtually god. I'd take that deal. It would also explain his power, since he's restricted to a set area, perhaps with his life on the line. Still an absolute Chad.
Comparing Razor and Hisoka. If we assume that Razor's spike is greater in power than Gon's punch, consider that when Razor deflected it back, Hisoka caught it in Bungee Gum (which, due to its nature, cannot be torn, just deformed) but it still broke several of his fingers.
I see ging offering Gon a more appealing level of greed island on the second half of the tape he left on the mother side of things, maybe she lives there, would give gon something to do while everyones away
100% win against all of spiders including Hisoka , except Chrollo ( we dont know all his nen abilities or writers would come up as they go w new nen ability) .
Finally! Someone showing razor some respect! I have no clue what his limits are, but whilst restricted and playing a game, he was one of the most powerful characters we've seen.
Man, it would've been so fun to see the Game Masters defend Greed Island from Chimera Ants if they ever got invaded like how we got to see Meteor City defended by the Phantom Troupe
I would almost bet for the "fictional math" that the amount of conditions for specialists to be exponential in power, rather than multiplicative So instead of something like 20 x 8 = 160 total power whereas Chrollo would be like 40 x 4 = 160 I think it's much more like 20^8= 25,600,000,000 - Razor 40^4= 2,560,000 - Chrollo This explains how this makes Chrollo more adaptable and generally more powerful, but showcase's Razor's insane ability to create all of these abilities and facilitate an entire island with only his Nen- and would explain how he was able to expel Chrollo and other PT members It also credits the fact that Razor would probably be less strong par for par compared to Chrollo, but when multiplying his power with conditions can become a beast
Razor was HIM. Quickly became one of my favorite characters in the series. All by himself contested in a game dodgeball all by himself. They needed 3 people just to catch the ball from Razor .

@@Ortorin this make sooooooo much more sense that what I ve been reading until now. 👍

I'm glad that Razor is getting attention he deserves, but I also think that you overhyped him a bit. I doubt he directly has all the abilities that cards have. Those are probably just nen programs that use Razor's nen as a fuel, so no constant nen drain for him and no direct way to use those abilities for him
This was my interpretation as well.
@@peponig.7894 I think you misunderstood togashi's ranking system

@@seanhutt4621 fuck thats scary if you think about it considering his current strength, dude at full potential would definitely be stronger than most of the hxh world.
I always assumed part of his immense power came from the subconscious limitations that he must never leave Greed Island, always fallow the rules of the game, always use a portion of his power on the cards, and always enforce the rules of the game. So his power only comes from dedicating his life to this one specifically thing, and that if he abandoned the game he would be far weaker.
Wiki: "Nen is subjective but to what degree is unknown"
If your a HxH-Fan, maybe my rant will be of interest for you but dont read if you dont want to.
In Star Trek they literally have Conjuration-Nen but its called Repilcator and they even outright say about its function "Gold is one of the simpliest things so its easiest to make."
Does Nen work the same or is molecular Complexity irrelevant and its simple "The bigger something is, the
more Energy it costs"?
Problem is, they're all exploitable. Exploitable af. But i guess im fine with them all except individual Feelings
cause that would mean i could just go to an Orphan and gain Mountains of Diamonds by telling him "Hey, kid
you just happen to have been born with Magic to make this thingy called Diamonds. It aint worth much but hey, if you

That doesnt sound like it should work
Knowing how much Meruem likes games. This would be interesting to see him just casually speedrun most of greed island
Merum: Greed Island Speedrun any%
Meruem has the advantage of spawning in on recruit mode.
@@JetFiiire you say that like Gon didnt annihilate Pitou because he sacrificed his life.
Razor: bet.
Ging: Ohyeah, I have a son. If he ever comes here, beat the shit out of him. No son of mine will be no bitch
Razor: Gotcha.
Common misconception that he powers up emission systems in the game
He just says he is in “charge” of them
@@aceclover758 I'm going based off of what Liam said in the video, since I had completely forgotten that part-with the spells.
@@angrymeowngi Exactly, Razor almost definitely plays a roll in supplying the aura neccessary to power up the spells
I remember seeing Razor vs Uvogin fanart. It's a cool idea, that never cross my mind.
Keep in mind Razor was a criminal just like the Troupe.

True true true
I wonder if Genthru's Countdown was intended as a much simpler example of a shared nen ability (since it requires all three Bombers to detonate) to compare and contrast with the elaborate spell system.
I think Razor's cards have another restriction which seems obvious but doesn't immediately click:
He can't refuse someone's card usage
like you mentioned, in my opinion the biggest indication of the monstrosity of razor's strength is the fact that hisoka didn't want to fight him.
Hisoka wants a consensual fight. He wants his enemy to want to hurt him, personally. Nothing Hisoka could do could make Razor feel that way.
i think Hisoka simply just treated Razor as NPC.
He never went after Netero for example - because he knew he stands no chance(for now)

even with the restrictions one thing sadly not given credit are the sheer spread of abilities of these spell cards whether be teleportation constantly knowing where another person is and if you go rewatch or reread greed island you truly realize just how crazy that ability is. if he wanted to i genuinely believe he could beat godspeed killua and even chimera ant arc gon (not adult gon that amp is too crazy) honestly as a huge bisky fan i believe razor could at least feasibly win fights with her and maybe kill her just because his sheer versatility as well as being the best show of an emitter in the series.
@@Yonkage-ik5qb bisky is transmutation not manipulation
@@Yonkage-ik5qb You're kidding me if you think Bisky a transmuter has more power than Razor. Razor easily beat Gon's Jajanken 2x with his normal ko.

Thanks for all you do Liam. I love your work.
You've also got to consider that the volleyball game itself is probably his nen ability, and the framework of the game and its restrictions probably multiply his power in a way that no other user benefits from
Razor is my favorite character in HxH.
Great style with a looming question of how hard he could go when not on Greed Island
The scary thing is, we haven't seen Razer fight for his life like before when he was a criminal. His true skill is what Ging acknowledged.
Love the video, razor always a pleasure. Didn’t realize you had changed the profile pic tho that threw me off but I like it way more fitting 👌😀
The Nikocado haircut boosts his power.
(The person Nanika loves most in the world can bypass some conditions)
That's my count, anyway.
Eh some of these are iffy but yea nanika easily has the strongest nen out of anything we’ve seen so
My favourite character 🎉thanks for showcasing him perfectly
The reason being, just like what an IT company would have their workers do, they divide the workload.
out of the topic sir. your shirt looks really really awesome.
I was always under the impression that 14 devils were used in his crimes. That may be an anime only depiction
Razor even chose to deflect the ball back to Gon.
Which needs twice as much energy/nen, than catching it.
The power of the greed island spell cards don't come from razer being incredibly strong, they come from how restrictive the nen contract probably is.
1. Each card can only be used on 1 island
2. Can only be obtained in a specific way
3. Probably can't be used by razer himself (except the game master cards)
4. Can only be used by someone wearing a ring from a VERY rare game
Kurapika wasn't an extremely powerful nen user the second he learned nen. He just made his nen abilities so specialized that they became powerful against a specific group of people.
You're forgetting he was voiced by Kiryu which immediately goats him as strongest character.
I think what makes Razor capable of utilizing his nen in so many different ways in regard to the greed islands card mechanics is due to the large restrictions put on greed island and its players, via how they get into the game, them needing wear a ring, etc. Though I definitely think he’s a great nen user regardless
Razor was "that guy"
is that new HXH merch you're wearing, excited if so
Liscensed or not, everyone in the series is a "hunter" in that they all want something. Right now, all razor wants is redemption.
Someday, there will be a reason for him to return to the story to help out, but right now, he's needed on greed island
It kind of makes sense since Razor can be thought of as a Gam Master of greed island. And Game Masters can do practically anything within their game.
Factor 3 is less than half of an order of magnitude (3 power 2 = 9 < 10),

Another thing could be “you must have a conjured book” “without the conjured book spells expire” “there are a limited number of spells at any point”
i would like to point out that he only is confirmed to make most of the spells work, not all. this means that he could have as little as 21 nen abilities in spells, along with ruler and 14 devils makes his minimum number of nen hatsus at 23, not 43.

the strongest thing in the universe is the ball that they use for the dodgeball game
I think it would be fun to have a video ranking the phantom troupe in terms of strength, just a thought 😅
QUESTION FOR MY FELLOW FANS:
Is Nen Anti-Self-Betterment?
I mean, we all know how the Myth that Therapy is a s-h-a-m-e should go-away already,
but the Question is this:
How do Restrictions and Limitiations react to Self-Improvement and/or Therapy?
If i fear Spider, set an Activation-Requirement to be 'touch a spiders' and then
go to Therapy, HAVE I BEEN SMART?
OR HAVE I BEEN DUMB?
“the reason i’m going through his background isn’t just to fill time in the video” at least liam’s aware of his signature move

I think multiple restrictions give a multiplicative boost to hatsu instead of additive. A lot of the cards are very OP and even with plenty of restrictions, Razor would have to have a lot of aura reserve to make them work.
Nice shirt.💪🏾💙
I don't think he had 41 abilities, the game (or specifically probably one of the other admins) likely just outsources his emitter aura, using it for cards and reducing his max aura capacity while the network is online. I don't think he can replicate the effect of the emissive cards on his own
Always tought the cards were more like nen tools, conjurated by a GM, and Razor as the GM in charge of providing the aura necesary for the spell cards to work.
I also think that you are right
If razor is the one powering all the cards, and the theory that Ging used the pregnancy stone to have gon is true, does that make razor gon’s other dad?

Maybe its like with the boxing guy and his pentagram in the ring.
Maybe its similar to that.
Aslong as he stays on GI he can make a lot possible without using to much NP.
Also dont forget that the players can turn items into cards, also things they shaped themself, like Gons giant rock.
Glad to see Razor getting some heat. The guy probably beats every Troupe member every day of the week, twice on Sundays, and i think is easily around Zodiacs level.

Just noticed the new pfp. Love the black whale 🐳
Finally you post.
Saw your new profile pic and thought someone stole your video 😅. Looks good. 😁
And jus realized with the Whale Force One pic, the name New World Review plays on both One Piece and HxH with the Dark Continent lol
Razor is a literal Nen Juggernaut
Finally! Someone showing razor some respect! I have no clue what his limits are, but whilst restricted and playing a game, he was one of the most powerful characters we've seen.
Lol bro can't even put a finger on Meruem 😂
I read the title with your voice 😂😂
Man, it would've been so fun to see the Game Masters defend Greed Island from Chimera Ants if they ever got invaded like how we got to see Meteor City defended by the Phantom Troupe
You know the power system got complicated when we’ve got Liam doing nen calculations 💀
I would almost bet for the "fictional math" that the amount of conditions for specialists to be exponential in power, rather than multiplicative
So instead of something like 20 x 8 = 160 total power whereas Chrollo would be like 40 x 4 = 160
I think it's much more like
20^8= 25,600,000,000 - Razor
40^4= 2,560,000 - Chrollo
This explains how this makes Chrollo more adaptable and generally more powerful, but showcase's Razor's insane ability to create all of these abilities and facilitate an entire island with only his Nen- and would explain how he was able to expel Chrollo and other PT members
It also credits the fact that Razor would probably be less strong par for par compared to Chrollo, but when multiplying his power with conditions can become a beast
