that is correct. missed by them b/c it said it can tap for mana any land an opponents land can produce, cavern of souls can produce all colors

I actually hate this style of blue control deck but somehow they made me root for it. He’s super entertaining.

Blind obedience 33:45 would have kept the city scape tapped. I love the content
Fun fact, since it came up in the game (though irrelevant in most cases since we’re all casual players here and just want to have a good time): contrary to popular belief, there is no difference ruleswise when it comes to missing ”mandatory” triggers and ”may” triggers. A ”mandatory” trigger is just as missable as a ”may” (though you’re not allowed to intentionally miss either), the only difference is that when a ”may” is RESOLVING you may choose not to perform the ability. The common ”oh, it’s not a ’may’, so we HAVE to do it even though it was missed” is actually completely false

John can't use the Shadowspear's ability because it's the artifact's ability, and Daniel owns the artifact. If Shadowspear said "Equipped creature gains", etc, Then the ability would be on the creature, and he could then use it. If anyone was curious.

Cityscape leveler should have ETBed tapped due to blind obedience. Only pointing that one out cause it drastically altered the board state and game. Game probably would have been entirely different and much shorter without that miss. Still a good game and enjoyable to watch! Just sad to see a fellow Zhulodok enjoyer fall like this
My favourite episode so far! That feeling you get after a competetive game of looking back, realizing just how crazy things were, and how many opportunities for different decisions there REALLY were is, just the best!

One of my favorite episodes! I definitely watched this episode more than once! I'm pretty new at magic only playing commander with my friends. But this episode taught me so much.

There’s a misplay with the city leveler, despite being unearthed it would enter tapped and couldn’t destroy Zhulodok because of the blind obedience still in play

Does John happen to have a list he would be willing to share? Or a gameplan breakdown as far as what to look for on curve? That early Rhystic Study really helped move everything along but everyone was just reacting to Daniel at that point.
I’ve been a Brudiclad player for over a year now and when Gimbal was announced I loved and hated him. Mainly because he went the opposite direction of what I loved to play.
I started building Gimbal about a month ago and he has quickly become my pet deck. All of my best in slot cards that were available for him quickly found a home amongst this beautiful gremlin.
My gameplan centers around having the big 3 tokens out at all times; clue, food and treasure. It quickly becomes easy to acquire either copies of artifacts and especially doubling down on Academy Manufactor with a Sculpting Steel or Phyrexian Metamorph. I’ve found using Urza and Jaheira really just send the deck off into the stratosphere. Most will say I’m just playing an Urza deck at that point and I completely agree. Who the hell doesn’t want to play a Temur Urza?!
My heavy hitters are Kappa Cannoneer, Displaced Dinosaurs and Old Gnawbone. I stomp out my wins and have yet to ever see my Reckless Fireweaver or Ingenious Artillerist ever hit the battlefield.
Would love to see if you’ve got any feedback! I’m more than willing to share my deck list because I’m so proud of it. I’m currently running 0 fast mana or many free interactions due to budget restraints (got laid off two weeks ago) and haven’t proxied because my play groups all sit around 7-8.5 on the power scale

There was a big mistake at 32:55 of game play. The Cityscape Leveler is supposed to enter taped because of Blind Obedience. If not, please explain.
Watching Lynch call out Larry (who rarely makes that kind of mistake) on the rivers Rebuke was gold. Can he cast that if he doesn't have a valid target?

I have to Monday morning QB a play... Larry should've cast Aetherize at the end of his combat after damage before his main 2 (like activating Reconnaissance) so he could at the very least keep his commander up as a blocker. He could've even activated his land in response to the spell.
Although this probably wouldn't have changed the overall outcome of the game.

I assume youre asking about the Exotic Orchid for Lynch? Unfortunately he was unable to produce any color, ONLY because Daniels commander is colorless. Cavern of Souls will only use color for colored commanders.

Having rechecked the rule 0 conversation: Larry 100% did NOT say anything about an extra turns carrousel (min. 56). Even calls it "janky". Was this mentioned somewhere throughout the game? Don't think I missed that, but someone correct me if I'm wrong ^^
A mistake was made at 26:15. Flayer of Loyalty has a CMC of 10 and was cascaded of Ulamog who also has a CMC of 10. When you cascade you can only cast card with a CMC LESS than the card that triggered the cascade.
