Whirlwind denial on Cascade triggers. It's like he sideboarded for the matchup. I wish Larry was my spirit animal, but that would be giving myself too much credit.
Fun fact, since it came up in the game (though irrelevant in most cases since we’re all casual players here and just want to have a good time): contrary to popular belief, there is no difference ruleswise when it comes to missing ”mandatory” triggers and ”may” triggers. A ”mandatory” trigger is just as missable as a ”may” (though you’re not allowed to intentionally miss either), the only difference is that when a ”may” is RESOLVING you may choose not to perform the ability. The common ”oh, it’s not a ’may’, so we HAVE to do it even though it was missed” is actually completely false
John can't use the Shadowspear's ability because it's the artifact's ability, and Daniel owns the artifact. If Shadowspear said "Equipped creature gains", etc, Then the ability would be on the creature, and he could then use it. If anyone was curious.
52:45 Larry is a fucking menace and Im crying tears from laughing so hard. The salt is so real. Lynch's missery is like an beautiful symphony in Larry's ears. Larry, please for the love of all things, never change
12:16 yes darkness 😂I'm using that from now on! Always fun to see Larry's builds! You'll always have my support lynch! Always love to tune in to see which tool shirt is next
My favourite episode so far! That feeling you get after a competetive game of looking back, realizing just how crazy things were, and how many opportunities for different decisions there REALLY were is, just the best!
One of my favorite episodes! I definitely watched this episode more than once! I'm pretty new at magic only playing commander with my friends. But this episode taught me so much.
I'm catching up on all my IHYD videos at moment but man WHAT A GAME!!! So much salt and hilarious moments in this game haha Truly one of the best episodes for sure
Cityscape leveler should have ETBed tapped due to blind obedience. Only pointing that one out cause it drastically altered the board state and game. Game probably would have been entirely different and much shorter without that miss. Still a good game and enjoyable to watch! Just sad to see a fellow Zhulodok enjoyer fall like this
There’s a misplay with the city leveler, despite being unearthed it would enter tapped and couldn’t destroy Zhulodok because of the blind obedience still in play
I think I've seen every episode of IHYD from when it first aired years ago. I may have watched the first one live on RUclips (not a patreon... my bad). That being said, is this the first time Lynch has won on the show?! Congrats Lynch! (probably not, but rolling with it) Woo Woo Woo Woo Wooh!
Not sure if it's been brought up but city leveler should have entered tapped because of blind obedience if I'm not mistaken just figured I'd bring it up
33:30 John shouldn't have been able to attack with he cityscape leveler because even with unearth, it still enters the battlefield. And because of that, Lynchs blind obedience makes it come into play tapped.
At 33:55, when Cityscape Leveler is unearthetd, shouldn't it etb tapped? Because of the enchantment that's been making artifacts enter tapped the whole game...
I have to Monday morning QB a play... Larry should've cast Aetherize at the end of his combat after damage before his main 2 (like activating Reconnaissance) so he could at the very least keep his commander up as a blocker. He could've even activated his land in response to the spell. Although this probably wouldn't have changed the overall outcome of the game.
Does John happen to have a list he would be willing to share? Or a gameplan breakdown as far as what to look for on curve? That early Rhystic Study really helped move everything along but everyone was just reacting to Daniel at that point. I’ve been a Brudiclad player for over a year now and when Gimbal was announced I loved and hated him. Mainly because he went the opposite direction of what I loved to play. I started building Gimbal about a month ago and he has quickly become my pet deck. All of my best in slot cards that were available for him quickly found a home amongst this beautiful gremlin. My gameplan centers around having the big 3 tokens out at all times; clue, food and treasure. It quickly becomes easy to acquire either copies of artifacts and especially doubling down on Academy Manufactor with a Sculpting Steel or Phyrexian Metamorph. I’ve found using Urza and Jaheira really just send the deck off into the stratosphere. Most will say I’m just playing an Urza deck at that point and I completely agree. Who the hell doesn’t want to play a Temur Urza?! My heavy hitters are Kappa Cannoneer, Displaced Dinosaurs and Old Gnawbone. I stomp out my wins and have yet to ever see my Reckless Fireweaver or Ingenious Artillerist ever hit the battlefield. Would love to see if you’ve got any feedback! I’m more than willing to share my deck list because I’m so proud of it. I’m currently running 0 fast mana or many free interactions due to budget restraints (got laid off two weeks ago) and haven’t proxied because my play groups all sit around 7-8.5 on the power scale Sorry I’m not Patron! Like I said, money is tight only for the moment 😅
Watching Lynch call out Larry (who rarely makes that kind of mistake) on the rivers Rebuke was gold. Can he cast that if he doesn't have a valid target?
And the ward cost does change the ending.. wouldn’t have had the artifact out that makes things one blue cheaper.. and wouldn’t have had mana for the spell pierce. He’d have been tapped out. Js..
I assume youre asking about the Exotic Orchid for Lynch? Unfortunately he was unable to produce any color, ONLY because Daniels commander is colorless. Cavern of Souls will only use color for colored commanders.
Can someone plz explain if is there a misplay with the Cityscape Leveler bc Unearth does not make it untap it just gives it haste Lynch still has Blind Obedience out so wouldn't the Cityscape Leveler be unable to attack or am I missing something here.
just a rules question.. at 35:16 could John have sacrificed the shadowspear to the annihilator trigger? im sure there's a line somewhere in the rules that clarifies it further on oracle but as its written on the card, annihilator says "defending player sacrifices x permanents". No specification of owning those permanents, nor controlling them. I guess the question is; does John control shadowspear while it stays attached to his creature? Just thinking of ways to punish Daniel's board presence at that moment. Eldrazi be scary.
I'm still in the beginning of the video, so maybe they figure this out later, but Exotic Orchard taps for all colors because of Cavern of Souls
Damn bro, I had no idea about that (admittedly niche) interaction. Sweet!
I was just going to say that
That's what I was wondering. Surprised they haven't figured it out yet.
That cavern can’t produce any colors. He’s playing a colorless deck.
that is correct. missed by them b/c it said it can tap for mana any land an opponents land can produce, cavern of souls can produce all colors
I absolutely love how LARRY PLAYS MAGIC BRO
I actually hate this style of blue control deck but somehow they made me root for it. He’s super entertaining.
Whirlwind denial on Cascade triggers. It's like he sideboarded for the matchup.
I wish Larry was my spirit animal, but that would be giving myself too much credit.
Same I root for Larry every episode

There needs to be a "SCARY LARRY ARCHENEMY" shirt... with only the mustache
that would nail it ^^
I'd buy it
Larchenemy
Larry merch is a must. Voting for something that says “villainous kilstache”
I normally hate watching extra turns. But I love watching murderous kill stache take extra turns. He is the architect of despair!
Blind obedience 33:45 would have kept the city scape tapped. I love the content
John can't use the Shadowspear's ability because it's the artifact's ability, and Daniel owns the artifact. If Shadowspear said "Equipped creature gains", etc, Then the ability would be on the creature, and he could then use it. If anyone was curious.

I really enjoy watching larry play mono blue 😂
Larry with the COnsuming Tide and the..."your hands about to be even better" had me dead
Scary Larry has appeared once more! Always great to watch, but his Scariness is a treat; plus a Voja build- which is always nice.
Welcome to the show, Daniel! You brought a juicy deck. I almost choked a bit when the Roaming Throne hit the board, yikes... :D
Lynch there is a CAVERN OF SOULS in play!!!! You have all colors!
Thats what I was thinking
Not true, due to Daniel having a colorless commander.
@@The6357Chris this has absolutely nothing to do with cavern of souls.
@The6357Chris nope it allows any mana to be produced regardless of commander colours
larry has the moral victory. that spell pierce was wild
The Cityscape Leveler should have entered tapped because of the Blind Obedience.
13:37 if only he did that reverse order he could pay for the study 😂
I love how lynch has 96 health and is still scared of Lary 😂
That ward 3 on voja doesn't exist for lynch I guess😅
One of my favorite episodes! I definitely watched this episode more than once! I'm pretty new at magic only playing commander with my friends. But this episode taught me so much.
12:15 lmaooo that cracked me up so hard 😂
Roflmao the salt that Larry brings is priceless bahahahhaha.
Facts. He's awesome.
Would Blind Obedience cause unearthed creatures to come in tapped? Sorry, I'm not familiar with the unearth ability.
I'm catching up on all my IHYD videos at moment but man WHAT A GAME!!! So much salt and hilarious moments in this game haha Truly one of the best episodes for sure
Blind obedience and... tapped leveler. Happens.
Larry 😂❤
Here for Larry's shenanigans, hoping his jank could beat the more regularly built Voja and eldrazi powerhouses. Thanks for your creativity Larry!
Happy to see Zhulodok on here, I have him, and he can pop off super hard. Love some of the new cards from that deck
Larry is sitting in the wrong seat. That's all.
What a game. Back and forth down to the end !! Unbelievable, everyone had a chance.
Great way to spend my Friday evening. Thanks to Lynch and the boys. Always a good watch
Gotta say this is the best episode ever guys! Great interaction and vibes 🎉. Thank you
Holy cow! What an amazing match. It was like watching Greek Titans trading blows. Bravo!
What an AWESOME video! An absolute blast to watch once again:D I've been smiling the whole way through
Those Daniel's card sleeves 🤩🤩🤩
The best of all your videos I have seen so far.....the banter was literally LOL funny all the way through
Cityscape leveler should have ETBed tapped due to blind obedience. Only pointing that one out cause it drastically altered the board state and game. Game probably would have been entirely different and much shorter without that miss. Still a good game and enjoyable to watch! Just sad to see a fellow Zhulodok enjoyer fall like this
Great game! Mike’s Blind Obedience would have stopped the Cityscape Leveler from being able to swing but still fun to see everything pop off
The bluffing from Scary Larry is absolutely immaculate and I love it
The fucking sigh “yeah you’re in battle” lmfao been there guy
So many twists and turns! Gg everyone!
33:11 does the Cityscape leveler not enter into the battlefield tapped with blind obedience? Still great Larry show and great game! 😂
Probably the hardest I've laughed during an episode 😂 Fun game!
We laughed pretty hard too. Glad you enjoyed it.
Damn, that's the biggest Jeska's Will I've ever seen. Well done there!
Best episode EVER !!!! Great pod wtih nteraction and deal making...
There’s a misplay with the city leveler, despite being unearthed it would enter tapped and couldn’t destroy Zhulodok because of the blind obedience still in play
Player playing stacks: "You didn't tell us you had extra turns!"
It's easy, I see a new IHYD episode and Zhulodok, I instantly Like
This is the most fun i had watching a commander gameplay, thank you guys! First video i watched on ur channel as well new sub hell yea
This has probably been one your best episodes to date. The salt is so real 🤣
I had only watched the Post Malone episodes of IHYD but had some time and really digging this episode. I will be watching more!
best game I've seen on the channel to date! so many twists and turns
not sure if anyone else caught it, but the unearthed cityscape leveller should have been tapped because of blind obedience at 33:00
This was one of the most fun episode I've seen :D I love seeing Larry on the show!

Larry is pure entertainment. Love your show in general, but this episode was just fantastic haha.
Crazy and awesome game. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
What a great game with many twists and turns. I loved the ending
When john used that cityscape levelers unearth, it should have entered tapped because of the blind obedience
There was a big mistake at 32:55 of game play. The Cityscape Leveler is supposed to enter taped because of Blind Obedience. If not, please explain.
33:30 John shouldn't
have been able to attack with he cityscape leveler because even with unearth, it still enters the battlefield. And because of that, Lynchs blind obedience makes it come into play tapped.
Laughing so much for the last hour of that game; that was a fun one!
Glad you had a good time, you saw we did too.
32:56 wouldn't the cityscape leveler unearth tapped onto the field because of blind obedience? So it wouldn't have been able to attack.
Hilarious episode! That was a lot of fun
that game was epic; great showing from everyone.
When Cityscape Leveler was unearthed, shouldn't it have entered tapped due to Blind Obedience? Am i missing something, or was it a missed trigger?
33:42 Cityscape Leveler was unearthed, but Blind Obedience was still on the filed and it should have entered tapped right?
MAN this was such a great game to watch. one the best episodes for sure!
At 33:55, when Cityscape Leveler is unearthetd, shouldn't it etb tapped? Because of the enchantment that's been making artifacts enter tapped the whole game...

Although this probably wouldn't have changed the overall outcome of the game.
Scary Larry is back! I just love to see this guy play.
This was the best game I've watched in a Lil while. Too funny.
Dang. Great game. One of the best on the channel.

33:14 Cityscape Leveler should have entered tapped due to blinding obediance, not being able to attack would change the eldrazi player state a lot.
Watching Lynch call out Larry (who rarely makes that kind of mistake) on the rivers Rebuke was gold. Can he cast that if he doesn't have a valid target?
How many times do you wanna play windfall? ….Yes 😂great video bois! Go scary larry!
Cityscape Leveler wouldve unearthed and entered tapped. 😅 unsure what that could've changed, but still watchin!
This was a good one. Thanks!
Hey shouldn't Cityscape Leveler come tapped in battlefield 33:00 because of Blind Obedience? If so it shouldn't attack in the same turn
And the ward cost does change the ending.. wouldn’t have had the artifact out that makes things one blue cheaper.. and wouldn’t have had mana for the spell pierce. He’d have been tapped out. Js..
Has unearth on the City scape leveler a way to get around the blind obedience? @32:57
At 33:25 Cityscape Leveler comes in tapped because of Blind Obedience so Zhulodok never should’ve died.
Pretty sure whirlwind denial wasn’t needed as the cascade, cascade would happen before deafening silence would be destroyed.
Despite the missed ward trigger, fun episode
Why didn’t the cityscape leveler enter tapped from blind obedience? Seems like potentially a big miss for such a critical moment
GG loved that game, so much going on
33:20 didnt Lynch have the enchantment that makes creatures and artefactos enter the battelfield tapped, the unearth thing was a was a missplay if so
Bro John reminding Daniel everytime that his stuff entered tapped while he unearthed that creature...
5:37 doesn’t that land count because added mana of any color?
Yes
I assume youre asking about the Exotic Orchid for Lynch? Unfortunately he was unable to produce any color, ONLY because Daniels commander is colorless. Cavern of Souls will only use color for colored commanders.
Can someone plz explain if is there a misplay with the Cityscape Leveler bc Unearth does not make it untap it just gives it haste Lynch still has Blind Obedience out so wouldn't the Cityscape Leveler be unable to attack or am I missing something here.
Souldnt the Lifelink from the spear have gone to Daniel when he controls the spear?
Wouldn't the unearthed Cityscape Leveler be tapped from Blind Obedience and therefore couldn't attack? (33:10)
just a rules question.. at 35:16 could John have sacrificed the shadowspear to the annihilator trigger? im sure there's a line somewhere in the rules that clarifies it further on oracle but as its written on the card, annihilator says "defending player sacrifices x permanents". He doesn't control the shadowe
Spear so no
How did the city scape leveler attack? Blind Obediance is still in play
@32:55 should the leveler not have been unearthed and come into play tapped because of blind obedience?
Excellent game guys
Did they catch that cityscape leveler shouldn't have been able to attack because it came in tapped due to blind obedience?
I see a fancy mustache I watch. Larry the goat
Question, how come the Cityscape Leveler didn't came in taped? Is it because of unearth?
