He was making all the same references my dumbass constantly rattles off during a game (that also always goes over my play groups head) I felt like I was watching me 😂
It was a pleasure to be back on the show! And, yes, I realized (after this game) that Djeru and Hazoret doesn't actually put the legendary creature into play during combat! The Djeru and Hazoret might have died, if Brian wanted to sacrifice several creatures. Also, I was REALLY making my nerd influences obvious! In this one game, I made references to: Wu-Tang Clan (Protect Ya Neck) Anaconda Monty Python and the Holy Grail The Lord of the Rings Sir Mix-a-Lot (Baby Got Back) The Simpsons The Room Futurama The Ladies' Man Atmosphere (Give Me) The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Michael Jordan "Stop It" Meme The Muppets / Sesame Street Loading Ready Run Pokemon Commander at Home's Unaired Material ...I feel like I'm exposing my brain a bit too much on the interwebs, perhaps. 😅
Olivia Untaps, then retaps, then untaps her lands and gets confused. Me: "Why's this bitch on the Commader Rules Commitee?" Olivia: "Someone's probably like 'Why is this bitch on the Commander Rules Commitee?'" Me: ":O" JK I love you Olivia
I seriously love the fact that they give you an authentic experience. The dogs just show up, you hear the real game convos weather related to mtg or not. Really sets them apart from everyone else. Love it
Great episode! If I’ve never mentioned it before, I actually really love the intro, it feels so homely. The casual banter and witty nature is second to none. It’s even better held up by having a HOF player with charisma to make sure the game is played well and as fair as one could expect amongst friends.
I love Brian and Olivia's relationship dynamic. They so clearly just solemnly enjoy one another's company and find all the little things to laugh about with one another or at each other. It's just mwah* chef's kiss, awesome to see.
I love Olivia’s lack of Wraith Tokens in a Wraith Token generating deck. I’m *serious*…! It’s so relatable. I never have the tokens I need. Commander Rule’s Committee, joining us at the level of the common player. ^_^
@commanderathome shout out to yall, the professor, and the Game Knights crew! You got me into magic with this lord of the rings set! I've had a blast building my own nazgul themed commander deck. It's been awesome to get back into a TCG
Been having a super difficult mental health week, and the line “where will the baleful eye of the hop it’s turn next once Sauron has fallen” made me laugh tears out. Thank you
I just have to say: you are a REALLY good editor. The way you cut this together is just masterful-you kept all the setup/payoff bits in the edit, and you kept things moving at a good clip the whole time. The editing is basically so unobtrusive as to be invisible, and that is truly impressive. The only exception: I SAW that burst of sparkles on Elspeth!
@@ChrisMontgomeryCM Haha thank you! That's very kind of you to say, and if no one sees what I'm doing, I'm doing my job right! I couldn't resist the "poof!" this time though ;)
24:50 Djeru and Hazoret actually exile the card and it can be cast for free until end of turn. Kind of a nitpicky thing but TECHNICALLY couldn't have cast it till second main
Also, no spell can be cast by opponent during combat with Marisi and Kibler casted Gandalf during combat against Olivia. But I understand, so much cards with many effects on his side haha
Your episodes have been evolving and have overtaken the Command Zone's. Great work you two.... and of course it does not hurt that there are doggies aboard! :D
Legit, some of the bets MTG content on the internet. There's a lot of great people out there, with a lot of great shows, but nothing makes me more excited then Commander At Home's notification popping up. Always happy to see, and happy to get new deck ideas.
Suddenly I hope one day for Cedric and Patrick to be guests just for the chance they would be do commentary on Brian and Olivias turns. Id die from laughter. Favorite new channel by far
The intro and outro music is excellent - truly. In addition to (VERY impressively produced) show - especially how you manage to make this feel very 'comfortable'(?). Yeah. Top tier.
I made my girlfriend a Cadira, Caller of the Small deck to introduce her to Magic. She loves just having an animal sanctuary with all the different animal tokens haha. And yes, I put the Animal Sanctuary land in there.
I played my first ever game of commander 2 weeks ago with some friends using the 40k precons. Im hooked. Ive watched like 20 episodes on your channel since then, its awesome! Thanks for making super enjoyable content for everyone from the experienced players to the noobs like me.
DJ's playing style is so funny. He immediately becomes this "master manipulator" where you can totally tell from his tone and mannerisms that he's trying to trick you, and yet you can't argue with the points.
Nice to know that I'm not the only dog owner that has to deal with "you are no longer doing what you were doing, you will pay attention to me now" haha
I love her as a cohost. She’s so full of life and always has a metal shirt on. Props to being a great player and knowing the nerd game. Love to see it.
I love that the rewatchability on this channel. Even though you know what will happen and the highlights of the episode. It is still fun to watch after many rewatches
Thank you SO SO MUCH for not flicking your cards as much. I have a neurological problem called misophonia and because of these sounds, sometimes I can't watch some of your episodes or have to watch them in bite sized bits to not get sensory overloaded. I really appreciate Olivia stoppinig Brian when he gets flicking. (I get it, it's like a reflex, I fidget too, but this overall makes my experience so much better. I can't thank you enough!)
I love watching this, it's my first one, and I love the banter and the random talking. It really feels like watching a game, whereas game knights has so many graphics now and so many cuttings to their inner thoughts. Love both, just liking this fresh new angle. Also love MTG Muddstah but they're so fast, so if I'm in more of a rush I can watch them
I really want this to be a "troll account" of the official CardKingdom store. They sponsor a lot of Magic-related content and do a lot of good for the community, in addition to being an excellent retailer... but they have to get tired of all that goody-two-shoes stuff at some point. This "CaryKingdom" account is their chance to mess with people. In keeping with this entirely accurate schema that I just made up, I have to assume that "I'm changing my plans for the next hour" ...actually means "I'm gonna go be violently sick at the sight of this Chris person." 🤣 (love ya, Cary) 😘
I noticed that you guys updated the playlist to include previous casts that were missing, so thank you very much! But there's a new problem now, where we have duplicate episodes - specifically everything between the episode 16 and 25.
Olivia is awesome on every show she appears. Brian is great, Chris kills me and DJ does a great job on Command Zone and is a great player. Olivia deserves an award for dealing with Brian. lol you 2 are an amazing couple
I had the child of Alara deck with only charms, pump spells and graveyard recursion, the charms are usually 3 spells in one and can usually answer any problem, the pumps can make the child a one shot kill, as the child is the only creature in the deck you can wipe as much as you like and revive as much as you like.
Second breakfast is real, my family called it Jause, it was basically like a mid morning snack, we had Weißwurst, white sausage and coffee, occasionally kartoffelhörnchen or franzbrötchen, which are a couple of really good pastry type snacks. Franzbrötchen are kinda like if cinnamon buns and croissant had a less sweet fusion. Filled with cinnamon butter and sugar, and so amazing when fresh. Kartoffelhörnchen are a potato based one, still like a croissant or roll, though lightly flavored with nutmeg. If you can find a place that does FRESH, quality german baked goods, you're in for a treat.
This man made 20 references to pop culture that went totally unnoticed. Anyone who can quote futurama that regularly is a national treasure

I'm proud to say I caught most of those references.

...and some friends. shit.

DJ's deck was really cool, using Braids to give your opponents big creatures and then copying them is the nicest version of Braids I've seen.

Watching these helps when u don’t have friends to play with. 😊
I was JUST thinking this haha
Just use spelltable. It isn't perfect but helps scratch the commander itch for sure.

Samwise gamgee deck? I'm in heaven right now, actually one of the coolest commanders from that set
I gotta say, that Samwise deck was something I was not expecting but also looking for for a long time.

Another amazing episode. I miss playing Magic for this very reason; the camaraderie.
DJ rules- one of my favorite deck builders. Love to see him on the channel!
DJ is the best. I love his personality and content.
This is my favorite episode so far. Awesome game and the interaction was the best
