Hey Al, I'm 2 mins in and keep looking at your hat. I don't see it in your store, but I like it!
Good looking entry set. Better than my McG’s I started with in the 70’s.
I started playing golf in college and played into my mid 20s and life got in the way. 25 years later my son-in-law wanted to start playing golf, and I thought it might be something fun to do now that I’m retired. He found Stix, so I ordered a set for me and him, thinking I didn’t want to buy high end stuff if we weren’t going to get into it heavily. Turns out the Stix set was really pretty good quality. The driver was very forgiving and fairly long. The wedges had a really good weight to them. Not too much bounce, but enough. The putter was the best club in the bag imo. Had nice balance and weight, with a very nice milled face.
We both have moved on to higher end clubs (he’s playing the Paradym line and I’m playing G430s), but it’s not like my handicap significantly improved. You just can’t buy yourself a golf game (although the Phantom X 12 putter has significantly helped my putting stroke).
Just a few minor complaints with Stix - 1. You can’t try them out before buying unless you know someone who has them, but they do have a money back within a certain time period I believe. 2. The wedges come in 52, 56, and 60, but the PW is 45 degrees I believe. I think a 50, 55, and 60 would be better. 3. If you get the black set, it will show more wear after a while. Personally, I’d suggest the chrome finish.
Bottom line - if you want new clubs that are going to perform reasonably well without breaking the bank, these aren’t a bad way to go imo.
I had a set of Stix irons growing up in the 1980s!! Didn’t know they were still going. They got me round Turnberry in 85 as a 15 handicapper😊
Get the brother in law on. Lets see his progression with love for the game, frustration for the game, absolute disdain for the worst game on the planet and back to love for the game all in one round
Got 5 to pw as an 11hcp . Th3y were definitely an upgrade from my x 18s

Mine too! A set of Golden Bears in 1981. Best playing irons I've ever owned. Of course, back then I could hit a three iron farther than I can the three wood today, but I really screwed up when I sold them and upgraded to PGA Emblem irons. I still have one of the fairway woods in the garage, complete with the crushed heel and the epoxy repair job I did on it when the hosel whipping let go.
4:04 I don’t know why but building my gaming pc with the parts I needed, to make it perform the way I wanted it to, was way less overwhelming than trying to buy my first set of golf clubs 😞 lol

great video and good for new golfers but why is there a 3 wood it should be a 5 wood instead in a complete set for beginners
I started with a stock set of Northwestern clubs from Kmart years ago. It was like hitting the ball with a stick with a rock taped to it. These look nice in comparison.
The big question is does a hosel rocket go as far as with one of the big brands?
They are actually nice looking clubs.
It would be great to see a beginner.

HAHAHAHA! Al saying don't buy clubs after his videos are the reason I have shed full of weird, obscure and fancy golf clubs. :) P.S. Does Mr Roboto use these clubs?
Even if you can afford it you probably shouldn't buy expensive clubs until you play something like this for a while it will make your fitting accurate

BAHAHAHA!!!! My wife once told me golfing is more expensive than owning a horse...and then we bought a horse(15k) and monthly stable fees(800) and vet bills, so yeah owning a horse is waaaay more expensive.
But I have some budget to get some Costco irons.

As a person who does not swing 100 mph or close to it, i use a krank high cor driver. Why spend 600 dollars for a name brand driver that i cant compress the ball with xd

Cheaper to play golf. Horses need vets, housing, feeding, transport and lots of expensive kit. If you get change out of 10k you are going well and this is annual cost. Plenty of golf holidays and golf membership plus new clubs and you are still quids in😂😂😂😂

Wow!!! Just watched a rubbish video by Peter Finch and now one by you!!! What the ef???? When do you ever say how good a club looks and only show the bottom of the Driver or the back of the iron????? NEVER! You would always show and talk about how it looks at address, the face, any offset and shafts. The fact it is a package set doesn't disqualify 'it' from these obvious points. You are better than this!!!
