The course is a huge factor when it comes to the time taken, some courses we would play in groups of 3 in 3:50 - 4 hours no problems, then others it would be closer to 5 - 5:30 hours. Sadly though there are obviously those players, like Bryson, who are apically slow no matter where they play :(

I’ve played a few rounds of speed golf, some of my best scores. Keeps the body limber, blood pumping, you’ll hit each shot further. That’s if you’re already fit tho.
Love playing an “athletic round” early in the morning. First off the tee at break of day, no one in front of you, jog between shots. Fantastic #makegolfathletic
I was playing the Tour Championship of Europe SAP on European Tour back in ‘08 (I think) and I had made the cut on the number and headed out with a scorer on Saturday morning, my caddy and a group of fans that came out to support. Anyway, we weren’t running or in a major rush or anything, but you just don’t need very long by yourself. On the back-nine we are coming onto a green and a marshall comes up to us and says the course is closed due to the tournament. We looked at one another and started laughing. Not sure how much he’d been drinking lol but it was very bizarre. We went round in well under 3 hours. Can’t remember what I shot but it’s in the score archives. ;)

If you play golf in Japan, you are forced to take a mandatory lunch break after 9 holes, and because they send you off both tees for 26 tee times, you often have a 90min break between nines.
