OUR STORY:
John and Kristina purchased a 50ft Jeanneau Sun Odyssey with just a few weeks sailing experience. They set sail from Melbourne and travelled up the East Coast of Australia to the Great Barrier Reef as part of their Australian Sailing Series with dreams of one day sailing the world.

That was a very interesting video. Fair winds on your next adventure. I've really enjoyed all your adventure. Coming into Brisbane reminds me of sailing into Chicago on the Great Lakes. It was amazing watching the city rise out of the water and being moored right downtown near Navy Pier was just a joy. Wednesday night fireworks off Navy Pier didn't hurt either. Perhaps when you head to Europe we may get a chance to run into you two. My wife and I are just about to set sail on a two year voyage from Scotland, to the Med, across the pond to the Caribbean, and finally back to back to the Great Lakes. The final destination though is up for debate. it is still two years away...
We are generally happy for you and John as he reenters the work place. Thank you so much for your past experiences shared with the adventures of a lifetime. Wish you both all the best and will be awaiting your next adventures shared, thank you so much.

Hi guys & its the end for Tucano as far as you guys are concerned hey. A tad sad I must say as I have been watching all episodes & that boat has certainly taught you guys heaps but new adventures await & John goes back to his dream job as such & you Kristina do what??? I am sure that you have something planned whilst John is working as his shifts will surely not be every day of the month so that still leaves plenty of time together. My you guys have been amazing in what you have accomplished, congrats on that & now new experiences await over in the Med so look forward to what happens next & I see even a road trip in the works so that will be different & I am not sure that I will recognize John with short hair but both of you have succh a wonderful tan. Kristina keep up the good video's as they are just so entertaining & looks like new camera gear will help. Enjoy getting reaquainted with Brisbane again & being able to go out for cofee or dinner when you want & stay in a/c accomadation, all the goodies you have missed I am sure. @@KristinasTravels I was just checking my favorite sailing channels subscription numbers. You guys have already passed or caught up with most of them! Some of them have been doing this for many years. Not that you of all people need the advice but when LaVaga started getting put in the news then their numbers went up fast. I think it may have been from tapping a demographic outside of the RUclips algo. Keep doing what you're doing though. I'm happy to see both of you doing so well... and so quickly!
Nice! When was this filmed? The river hasn't been this brown since July 2022. There's over 100 creeks and streams as contributories that wash dirt into the poor brissie. It's actually a sand bottom river as far up as Jindalee ... notice the sand deposits on the banks at various locations? E.g. Indooroopilly under the Walter Taylor bridge and Captain Burke Park (just up river from where you were moored). Dolphins and sharks swim upstream ... google or RUclips it as proof. Happy sailing.

Fair winds in whatever you do. Had a ripper lightning storm here in the Great White North a couple days ago. Banging and crashing for 24 hours. Some people are still without power now.

Wow! RYA Practical courses are way more expensive than in the UK, did my DS Practical (out of Hull)l a few years ago now for 40% of the Aussie price now. I know how John feels having finished my YM Shorebased this time last year, my Lecturer said (5 years ago now) the RYA mysteriously doubled the questions' whilst keeping the same time's in the 3 exam's - Go figure!?
I also totally get docking up in strong tidal flows, having last year moved my friend's 55' Dutch Barge from Coleraine to Derry, not huge tidal height changes but Loch Foyle narrow's considerably into Derry whooshing along at a fair old clip every six hours'.
As an aside I share the same birth date as RW but I have ten years on him...
