Thanks for your shortlist, Harleigh! A lot of dark skin friendly sunscreen reviews are US based, so it's great to see something based on what we can purchase in the UK. Never tried any of these but I have considered trying the Supergoop one, although not sure when that will be because I'm too in love with InZincable from Skincare by Dr V.
That don't work on real people who are black‼️ I brought thinking it would be the saving grace my family, I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I was. On my oldest daughter especially. 😢 Works on asian skin though.

If you’re gonna use LaRoche, might as well use the tinted mineral sunscreen. Better than chemical sunscreen and the tent melts away nicely on brown skin (I work in dermatology and have been using it for a year).
@@FIREcrochethairstyles I’m dark skinned. I have to mix it with a good moisturizer or it will leave a caste… I will say there are better products, but as far as LaRoche goes, might as well use tinted. Better products for darker skin are naturium and elta MD,
Thank you for the Eucerin. That thing is the truth. I have been using sunscreen regularly for two weeks now. I hope I never stopped. No white cast, not greasy. I used to apply sunscreen only on cruises and I hated it but, now I’m making it a lifestyle.

I don’t know why sunscreen is advertising as glowy when majority of sunscreens have always been glowy, even greasy. Black Girl in the kids version is better and cheaper while having spf 50 rather than the 30 for adults, and it doesn’t have the Octocrylene that is a big irritant to sensitive skin. Nuturium also has great spf’s and came out with a more satin matte formula, better for oily skin. Hawaiian Tropic Weightless Face SPF is another fantastic one and around $7. Thankfully there are so many cast free options so it is more likely people will routinely wear spf and they come in a huge range of prices making it accessible to everyone. You don’t need to pay $3-50 for a spf. That’s ridiculous to me unless it has great long term skincare benefits… in addition to the spf which has great skincare benefits to start with😂
What’s the best darker black girl friendly sunscreen you recommend? Thanks for this message. I seen the price of these and was like YIKES! But I still appreciate her video ❤
Spf mists are meant to be put on your hand and rubbed in, which defeats the purpose in my opinion. By spraying it on people don’t get an even application so you risk ending up splotchy… which has been a big complaint of every brand that has launched a mist spf product
Trying any good sunscreen will always help with hyperpigment of the skin. Using a bit of vitamin c just before adding the sunscreen is what helps with brighter skin over time.
Well for us educated black folks who don't use SPF. Maybe it's because we're smart enough to know that we have a 30% Built in spf melanin skin and other Africans don't use it lol 😅
What is that supposed to mean? We don’t have to protect our skin? I think it’s important that everyone wear SPF no matter your skin color or ethnicity, especially with the global warming that’s happening. The environment has changed drastically and the suns UV rays are more harsh than when our ancestors were around. UV rays causes dark spots, uneven skin, and those lil brown moles that be lookin like freckles…I forgot what they’re called… but a lot of Africans including me suffer from those kinds of imperfections and it’s likely due to not using SPF
Your really stupid, I’m black and use sunscreen. It has changed my life. Everyone has melanin, simply because we have more pigmentation doesn’t make us devoid of skin cancer and sun burns. Not the humblest move calling yourself “educated.”
We need to embrace the fact that sunscreen can’t be color friendly, just defensive against the sun. It’s skincare not makeup. Love your video and I hope it’s helpful. But people trying to push sunscreen away just because it isn’t foundation, doesn’t make any sense.
People aren’t pushing away sunscreen because it isn’t foundation… some ppl just want to use a sunscreen that isn’t overly greasy and doesn’t leave a white cast on brown/black skin. The products she recommended in the video are good for POC so technically sunscreen is and can be color friendly
Lol I don’t think you understand being dark brown and putting on sunscreen everyday that makes your face look grey purple ashy or even white. I’m not walking around looking like a mime. Don’t speak on something you don’t understand. You wouldn’t want to walk around looking like Casper let’s be real. That’s the point of the video. To help dark skin women find sunscreen that makes us feel confident.
It's Sad that you say this beacuse you're not black so you genuinely have no idea, not a single clue of the struggle we are referring to and Why there's so many videos of "dark skin friendly sunscreens" This has nothing to do with makeup. or "Looking Pretty" It is skincare and your skin is supposed to improve and it's barrier to be protected which will then in turn mean better looking skin RIGHT?.....But the sunscreens that are available, make some of us look like clowns. With white casts and grey casts and guess what, even PURPLE CASTS. So what you are saying is we should be okay with walking out everyday looking like clowns or circus acts everyday? As if we chose to were Purple, Grey or White foundation? (Which btw would make us look even more stupid and make people think we really do hate our dark skin that we have reached the point of wanting to "look" white) What you said was ignorant and insensitive. You should've just asked why they have to tailor suncreens to fit the different skin shades.
