    I live in Portugal where the sun is always beaming. The Ilia Skin Tint is good, but it makes me look too red. I actually had to wear two sunscreens because The Ordinary Mineral sunscreen had too much of a white cast, so I'd wear a thin layer of Ilia over it. Now, I just wear Dr. V's Inzincable Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50. It does go on with a white/purplish cast, but for me, it dries clear. I'm looking for a similar one now, as hers is pricey.

    Thanks for trying that new Sun Bum Daily Mineral Moisturizing Sunscreen! I saw that they came out with that and it definitely piqued my interest but since their other mineral sunscreens have been super casty in the past, I was a little nervous to spend money on them again. After watching this, I might have to give that one a try.
    I also agree that sometimes the mineral sunscreen makers try to add emollients to make their sunscreens more moisturizing which I appreciate, but depending on what they use, it can make the formula super thick and difficult to apply, which as you say is not good for sensitive skin, and if you're using mineral sunscreen, there's a strong likelihood that you have sensitive skin.
    Thanks again for doing another round of these! Summer is right around the corner and this is the time of year where I tend to build up my sunscreen arsenal!

    • @linzeeb4
      @linzeeb4 Год назад +1

      @@Chiquitaezenwa yeah it definitely just depends on the person and the formulas! While zinc can be somewhat astringent/ dehydrating, I've had some success with zinc only mineral spfs, titanium dioxide tends to be too dehydrating and irritating for me.
      That said, the only mineral spf in my regular rotation is the Undefined Beauty Sun Serum. It's spf 50, quite fluid and elegant for a mineral spf, Black owned, fragrance, alcohol and silicone free and available at Target. It's tinted, so once it settles in the cast isn't noticeable on me, and uses zinc as it's filter.

      I don't mind the Olay one personally but I definitely have to use it on top of a moisturizer. 95% of chemical sunscreens burn my eyes and the one's that don't are usually super expensive so it's been a struggle lmao. Mineral/physical sunscreens are also chemicals, use many of the same synthetic chemicals as organic/chemical sunscreens, and aren't safer for your body than organic/chemical sunscreens. The only difference is whether the ingredient providing the protection is a mineral (zinc or titanium dioxide) treated with other chemicals or the ingredient providing the protection is a synthetic chemical filter. Whichever you use you'll be much safer than going without! Even water is chemicals. 😊

    • @styleandbeautydoctor

      It depends on the formula-some chemical sunscreens are better for dry skin, some better for oily skin. Many mineral sunscreens though can tend to be a bit more moisturizing but that doesn’t mean you can’t use it if you have oily skin-perhaps if you get colder seasons you can wear them then. • @styleandbeautydoctor
      @styleandbeautydoctor  Год назад +1

      There are no "best top five" though. I try out a ton of mineral sunscreens each year and then the ones that actually look good on darker skin like mine are highlighted in the best I've tried. But even amongst those, YOU still have to figure out which ones are best for YOUR routine. Some are tinted, some are very moisturizing with a dewy finish, some are better for oily skin ad have a matte finish, some work best on their own, some may work better with a moisturizer applied first, etc.
      Even if I did make an attempt to have a "best top five" list, it would be mostly products that work on MY skin---and then who is that helping?
      in a nutshell: I provide you guys with reviews on what the products feel and look like, how they perform, etc. but you have to take that and apply it to your routine.

      @The Style and Beauty Doctor
      Most of us are looking for the ones that leave the least white cast - The ones that are undetectable ..... We know we have to consider our skin types - And you do a great job of telling us the moisture level.
      Your skin tone is a beautiful midrange for black women to use as a gauge - And since you have access to the products - It would be very helpful and awesome to have a top three list of the least undetectable sunscreens listed by price range so all women can easily research and narrow down to one or two of them to try according to her budget.
      Shalom

      @@tovah7173 I think you might have missed in this video where I referenced my two “best mineral sunscreens I’ve tried so far” videos plus a blog post with a running tab of best mineral sunscreens I’ve tried based on cast.
      Other than all of that, I cannot do a “top 3” or whatever number given what I said in my previous reply. You can use those videos (or even just the blog post for a quick reference) to decide which ones to choose from there.

    Do you not like Dr. Vanita Rattan? She’s POC focused and an unbiased doctor, but you never feature her products or advice.
