+Jorge Aguilera What disturbes me that Hayter thinks he IS Snake. But this ain't true. He is Solid Snake. I think the reason Kojima wanted to change the voice of Naked Snake/Big Boss cause it's a different person. To be honest, it's kind of unlogical that Huey Emmerich is also voiced by Christopher Randolph cause CR is Hal "Otacon" Emmerich and not every Emmerich. Our parents don't share the same voice like us.
I love Hayter for his voice acting in MGS but he should deal with it that there is a reason. The Japanese voice actor for Snake maybe wasn't replaced cause there wasn't a better one. But Kiefer Sutherland topps David Hayter in every way.
Nevertheless interesting to hear his version.

+Buzz1991 I guess, he just was upset for a little bit cause of how they have treated him with this recast, and also the big reason of that is the franchise itself means a lot to him (i think, it's obvious, he's go a decade with it, he's played these games, he's compare himself to the character actually). So it's not a big deal. I think the recast has disturbed him more, than you have with this interpretation of his thinking.

Awesome! David Hayter is such a good sport. I love how he embraces his legacy and his fandom and he is happy to be interviewed by three dudes in their bedrooms through Skype. He's not concescending... he meets you on an eye-to-eye level. No bullshit. If you ask him about a project, he'll be honest.

We need David Hayter back as Snake. I really enjoy his work, Kiefer Sutherland is a great actor but I'll always think of David as the true Big Boss. Konami, make a remake of something mgs3, mgs2 we need it!

Can't begin to express how much I've missed seeing you guys chatter, let alone the interview: every interview with David just reinforces how much of an idol he is to me, not just in regards to his work but also his infectuously positive attitude.
Regarding what you said about your channel and it being in a transitional stage, I just wanted to say that while I did get into it due to your MGS content initially, I've very much enjoyed your insights and thoughts about a variety of topics, including the movie reviews (though I don't demand or expect that to be a regular thing).
I rather doubt you're too concerned about a decrease of viewers due to the direction the channel's going but, for what it's worth, I'm definitely here to stay and continue to support what you do :)

I think that it would have made sense for Big Boss to be played by a different actor because he is a different character. Yes, David's point about them being clones is 100% valid, but for the sake of differentiating the two characters in the same way that Liquid and Solidus are differentiated from Solid Snake and Big Boss, it would have made sense in that way.
Regardless of that, I'm really glad that David got the role in MGS3. I couldn't imagine it any other way. But my point is, I don't think David's way of looking at this is the only valid way of looking at it, and I don't think that people are ''idiots'' for not agreeing with me.
Also there is no evidence I believe of Solid Snake and Big Boss having identical vocal cords. Besides Solid Snake is better than Big Boss in some ways because he's cloned.

Not every "Snake" has to sound like David Hayter. Solid Snake, on the other hand.... if it doesn't sound like Hayter, I don't consider it to be Solid Snake.
David Hayter IS Solid Snake. His real name is David, for fuck's sake!!!! Ultimately, I'm just disappointed to learn that the image in my head of him and Kojima actually being very respectful of each other and on good terms isn't the actual reality. I still have much respect for both of them, and am glad he got his freedom from Konami, but this does make me respect him just a fraction less.

The best part about these interviews is really the relaxed atmosphere and how chill Ronin, Daley and Yong are, even in the presence of these guests they all obviously have a lot of respect for. You guys keep it up!

it's true, the pressure to make a new star wars movie is insane. He probably was sweating bullets waiting for the ratings and sales of the movie. Because Star Wars must be epic, it can't be just another space fighting movie.

Really enjoy The Codec, David Hayter is a really interesting guy and a good writer/VA. Looking forward to seeing more! On a side note, its quite disappointing that Konami took down yet another fan game..but to be expected :'{ Looking forward to what the Shadow Moses team works on next, I find it cool that even though they couldn't make the game, they made a fan legacy project . Like an MGS museum :D

It's hard to find any interview with him. He's on the down low. Never goes to conventions or anything. I've only ever found two interviews with him.
