Real Craftsman “V” code were made by Moore Drop Forging (later named Easco) in the USA.

I think the new V series is hit or miss. It's mostly rebadged USAG tools in Craftsman trim. I am disappointed in the V series ratchets though. Non serviceable heads that are really thick, and have probably the highest back drag of any other ratchet on the market. They are also more expensive than say Gearwrench, Capri, or Icon. They missed the mark on the ratchet handles too. I think the all metal handles are too narrow, and the comfort grip in 1/4 drive is so small, it's useless. Lastly, the V series ratcheting wrench sets skip 15 & 18 mm which if you only work on Japanese cars, isn't a big thing but, those are two very common sizes on other vehicle brands. The V Series combination wrenches are great though. The wrench holder is compact. The open end is unique. I do wish they would offer the long pattern though as the current V Series are shorter than an old raised panel Craftsman wrench. I'm sure the Craftsman purists are upset that there's a new V Series that isn't made in America. Perhaps something else will come along if SBD ever gets their new Texas plant online.

Yeah, definitely trying to get into a Lowe’s DIY market with the skipping of the wrench sizes… it would definitely collect dust on the shelves if it was a full set. We’ll see where this goes..

I have to admit I liked that ratcheting t handle screwdriver not that I need anymore screwdrivers.

I just got that long 1/4 flex head V series ratchet yesterday. . Haven’t tried it out yet. I ordered it at Lowes online. None of the local stores had it.

      Hopefully the non-comfort grip?! 😂

@@AutobahnDan It is the one with the comfort grip. It’s a little bit shorter than the Snap on one. The Snap on long 1/4 flex head is much easier to turn.

I went to my local Lowes yesterday and asked when they'd be getting the V Series stuff in. The guy flat out told me, "Probably never". I thought he was kidding at first but he wasn't . Kind of surprised me to say the least.

Kinda my sentiment as well. The Pliers wrench looks nice, but I'll go with knipex if i need the 10" ones unles the price on these French ones are 'blow me away'
