Special BOSS HM2 - "Try Not to Headbang" CHALLENGE

- This video is a tribute to the HM2. It's a guitar pedal sold in the 80's by the guitar gear compagny Boss. All the band in this challenge use this pedal !
The "Heavy Metal 2" as you can guess is a distortion pedal for guitar that has an unique sound really distored, a lot of high and bass and the medium heavily compressed. It was used during the early days of death metal, and define the sound of the Swedish death metal. It got some modern use that will make you headbang.
/!\ Spoiler alert /!\ : your favorite band and/or song is not in the video ! Or maybe It is ;)
The goal of the video is to create the hardest "Try not to headbang" challenge. Subjective choice were made, I hope you'll discover some artists.
I'm just here to add new songs to my Spotify.
Yeah.same
Damn, that Nails breakdown is insane
Nails and Entrails were the high points for me. I love the idea of basing a list on the effects used it really puts a spotlight on what the sound can do.
These songs are pretty solid, good job dude! 👍
...and you've got a new subscriber

Ive been listening to a song that I think you should add to your next try not to headbang challenge next.
Homicide by Sammy SlamDance and Tyler Quillen. I've discovered this song from a RUclips channel called Death Central and I loved the song ever since.
That is a good song, great cover of a song I didn't particularly care for lol

Germans. Slaughterers giving their opinions
The selection is not bad, but there are a couple of few but. Dude, there are a lot of genre mistakes. Nails is more powerviolence than grindcore, All Pigs Must Die, Trap Them - crust punk/powerviolence. As for the Cult Leader, it's chaotic with an admixture of grindcore. But Spinebreaker is just death metal with a touch of hardcore. Black Breath is closer to crust punk.
In general, it's not bad, but when you make such selections, you should first get acquainted with last fm or bandcamp. In order to avoid such mistakes later.
I take good notes of that. To be true with you, I'm sharp on metal sur genre, less on punk hardcore. Sometimes I can't "see" the difference : Brutal Death and Death have way to compose, sing that are really different, But I can't really see the difference between powerviolence/crust/grindcore... For exemple, Rotten Sound is as fast, as brutal as Nails, and I seem to be right on the grindcore label, what makes Nails power violence ?
At some point we should’ve quit naming subgenres and started numbering
@josephbaker4390Powerviolence typically leans into punk super hard and leaves out death metal influence. Grind has both. Crust is almost always based around the d beat, and the vocals tend to fit a more punk aesthetic (less growls, more raw barks).
