Hufflepuff always gets the short end of the stick because we observe Hufflepuff like qualities in people from other houses. Like in when harry retrieves Nevile's remembrall from Malfoy in book 1, all the displays of loyalty Harry shows toward Dumbledore throughout the series and my favorite being in the half blood prince when Slughorn tell's harry about the fish his mother Lily gave him
Markiplier = 100% Hufflepuff for me.
That's what I'm also hoping for.
You talked about similar characteristic traits and how they're viewed in society in the Cinderella video as well.
Do Ravenclaw next!
im so glad you mentioned the "all people should be treated equally" because many people don't realize this but helga hufflepuff is the ONLY founder who thought all children had a right to an education.
That's not true. All founders wanted to educate children but Gryffindor favoured brave people over others , Slytherin favoured ambitious people over others , Ravenclaw favoured smart people over others , Hufflepuff favoured loyal people over others
@@achyuththouta6957 no... Helga said for plenty. Not for loyal. Helga stated that every children, not just loyal one. Including the mix blood.
To everyone:
Ravenclaw wants the smart people
Slytherin only wants the purest of of blood
Gryffindor wants the bravest of the bunch
They all want their students in these filters to fit, if not, no education! But Helga Hufflepuff said this...
"I'll teach the lot, and treat them all the same" She is the backbone of all the houses, bringing any students because she thinks that more people DESERVE to be in hogwart, not for the glory, but for the greater good. Helga Hufflepuff didn't expect any reward, but did the right thing to do. She didn't want any glory, but I will forever thank her for that.
Thank you for mentioning it because I get a lot of hate because I’m in Hufflepuff
@@sunsetsleepy7546 Same!!
You didn't mention that black and yellow reminds us of the bee, a species that does nothing but work hard with no personal gain.
Plus they they make most of our food.
Um, I think you should mention they actually they work hard for common gain, i.e. for greater good.
For a second I thought, "you eat mostly honey??". But I get you now :)
Micko Dooku or yellow and black means hazardous or dangerous but that doesn’t fit with the sentiment the author is trying to convey.
It stands for sun and earth.
To be fair, Rowling didn't mention her daughter wasn't Hufflepuff because it's not the most popular house, but to establish that this wasn't the case of someone praising their own house, but someone appreciating its value objectively.
solfeggietto that’s exactly what I thought, it was a great and objective example

I was just going to write this exact thing verbatim!

Basically everyone wants a Hufflepuff, but not everyone wants to be one
Not really tho, I'd say I'm a Slytherin but I want to be a Hufflepuff, however my surrounding does not allow me to do so.
I want to be one

Gryffindor: Let’s build Hogwarts on the border of a lake and a forest full of dangerous monsters!
Ravenclaw: The castle itself should be a labyrinth, moving staircases, hidden rooms, doors you need to answer riddles to get through.
Slytherin: I think we should establish a strict a easily exploitable points system, which will encourage competition and animosity between the houses.
Hufflepuff: We are building a school! For children!
Hahaha that is a pretty good punchline.
Hufflepuff: We are building a Garden and Kitchen
Hufflepuff:Also have a kitchen next to the common room with house elf that will be able to help and not be mistreated.
XDXDXD
Hufflepuff : We need a garden and a big kitchen!
Gryffindor: We only take the brave.
Ravenclaw: We only take the intelligent.
Slytherin: We only take the ambitious.
Hufflepuff: We can take anyone and make them just as good as the rest.
Hunter Webster Yes!
Ravenclaw is better as : We only take the creative
In the book, ravenclaw uses the word wise
At least we hufflepuffs dont have a prick like "my favorite color is lilac" lockheart or the coward professor Quirrel.

@@orcawalrus4561 can you name a dark wizard hufflepuff? (I'm not trying to actually make anyone mad, just trying to make playful banter)
What I think is interesting is people assume the rival of Slytherin was Gryffindor. However, Syltherin's true rival was actually Hufflepuff. He said, "I'll take pure bloods" and her reply was, "I'll take the lot". I imagine her straightening her back, puffing out her chest, looking him in the eye and declaring, "What a wimp! You only have the ability to teach students that grew up in a magical household and have known magic all of their lives. Please! I can teach anyone, anywhere, even if they just learned they were a witch or wizard a few days ago!" That is pretty badass. That is like the coach that squares up against another coach that tried to stack their team with the best players. The brave coach says, "I am so good my team can still compete, even though I took on the kid that can't dribble, the one was two left feet, and the one that doesn't know a basketball from a football. Oh yeah, give me that kid that is 4'11'' inches as well!" She was tough. Why everyone considers her not as strong or powerful is crazy.
That's i nice way to see it... and i think you are right 😌
For some reason you moved somenthing in me. Thank you for this proud image of Helsa.

Fun fact. Back when pottermore used to show how many members each house had, hufflepuff was actually the most sorted in house.
Ben Hubble That's fantastic, it seems that Hufflepuffs get more love in the fandom than they do in canon!
@@trinaq it is quizz. You dont choose, you get sorted to.
It is because Helga Hufflepuff 'takes the lot'. If someone doesn't fit into the other houses or even doesn't display traits of Hufflepuf like loyalty and hardworking, they would still be sorted into Hufflepuff.
Time magazine's wizarding house study also had Hufflepuff as the most common house, followed by Ravenclaw, then Gryffindor, with Slytherin as the least... Which kinda totally makes sense.
bukster it’s kinda impossible for someone not to have any traits , you’re gonna fit a house or two whoever you are.
I don’t think that quote is referring to the sorting hats literal method of sorting but more of who Helga was as a person and her views towards sorting.

One thing that no one mentioned was that Lockhart valued intelligence most of all. Often, it does not matter too much whether you have a certain trait; if you value it more than any other, then the sorting hat will sort you into the House it is associated with.

Hufflepuff- Integrity
I was so excited to finally see a Hufflepuff Appreciation video. It's been my favourite house since I got into "Harry Potter", and I was delighted when I was officially sorted into it on "Pottermore". They tend to be mocked by the fandom because of how little they contribute in canon, and their name seems to be synonymous with "generic" or "boring". Hufflepuffs produce the fewest dark wizards or witches out of all the houses, and houses Cedric Diggory, Nymphadora Tonks, Pomona Sprout and Newt Scamanader are all proud Hufflepuffs. It's sad that they possess the qualities that we tend to overlook the most in our society, but they don't seek out glory for their good deeds. The house of Badgers definitely deserve more love!💛😍

The reason people look down on Hufflepuff is because in today's society we have shout about even our smallest accomplishments. Hufflepuff's are often quiet, modest, kind, and enjoy hard work for it own sake. These are great qualities we do not see enough of and even put down in today's society. We need more Hufflepuff's.
As someone with Slytherin and griffindor brothers, I can 100% confirm this
To all the Hufflepuff haters,
If you hate Hufflepuffs, then you hate the kind, the loyal and the hardworking. Hufflepuffs help you up when you fall. Hufflepuffs, won't spill your secrets. Hufflepuffs will sacrifice for the greater good. Helga decided that no matter what blood status, even a "mud blood" is equally as good as any pure blood. Also,Helga was a badass. She was the only one who stood for equality. She was BEYOND hardworking. She was known for being loyal and charming. Guess what? She was known for being great at food charms. FOOD CHARMS. And also she took in house elves in the worst time period for them. That is far beyond the work S.P.E.W has done. We also had Tonks. THE TONKS. She was badass and chased after Remus after she heard he was fighting a deadly death eater. She died to protect Harry Potter. Newt. He didn't care about the odd exterior of any mystical animal. He fought for the rights of animals. Now,think again. What's bad about Hufflepuff? Is it that we're weak. Need I remind you,we have a wrestler in our house? Is it that we're boring? Are you trying to dishonor Tonks's memory?
"You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal
Those patient Hufflepuffs
Are true and unafraid of toil."
mm food charms

And the only reason they were hesitant was because they didn't want to murder anyone. They were still supporters of peace. They knew the Death Eaters were a lot of the Slytherins' relatives and family, and were just too far gone.

Hufflepuff traits Inculde loyalty and kindness .
Some of the most admired attributes that people admire .
And having the least darkest wizards is an achievement in itself
I imagine that there is at least one in history, and that he or she is absolutely terrifying.
It would have to be someone who is completely convinced that they're doing the right thing. Odds are, most suicide bombers are Hufflepuffs.
Sean; Definitely not suicide bombers, simply for the fact that they'd favor the death penalty simply for not submitting to their way, whereas a Hufflepuff would use death as a last resort and don't relish in the idea. Anti-vaxers and extreme pro-lifers would be better examples of "rogue" Hufflepuffs as deaths and suffering caused by them are not necessarily direct and, more importantly, not necessarily intentional. For them it's caused by emotional misinformation, but suicide bombers know full well what they're doing and think they'll be rewarded for it.
Those attributes are something which only Hufflepuffs admire. Personally I don't value kindness at all
Achyuth; An attitude shared by all the world's assholes. You really think completely devaluing kindness is something to be proud of?
Each house's mascot kind of represents something they stand for, so if Hufflepuff is a badger then we aren't only kind, honest, trustworthy, hardworking, patient, loyal, selfless, empathetic, and just. We are also bad ass, not to be messed with, intelligent, persistent, fearless, thick-skinned, resourceful, unwavering, and ferocious (only if need be, such as you poke fun at us). So if you want to make think of us as boring, or basic you can just remember that we can battle a lion and make it freak out, climb just as high as an eagle can fly, and kill a snake while fighting off two jackals. But always remember, we can love, be trusted, and be loyal even more than we can fight.
Badgers mess lions and snakes up so hard its sad to watch
i love this comment so much
if this were reddit you’d be rich in awards
"There are three things all wise men fear: a night with no moon, the sea in a storm, and the anger of a gentle man." [Patrick Rothfuss]
I tend to feel what house you're in is more about what motivates you than what your talents are. Gryffindors like challenge. Slytherins are ambitious. Ravenclaws value reason and rational arguments. And Hufflepuffs are driven by empathy. Which means a Gryffindor will be the first in a fight, but will drop it if there's no longer a challenge to face. Slytherins only fight if the feel there's something to gain from it, and will stop fighting once there's nothing left to gain. Ravenclaws will fight if there's a rational reason to, and will stop if there's a rational reason not to. But think what it takes to get a Hufflepuff to fight - to set aside their empathy for the person they are about to try and harm. Imagine if, when you punch someone, you feel the pain you caused as if you had been punched. It would probably take a lot to get you to fight. That's basically what it is to be a Hufflepuff. Which means we may be one of the last to enter the fight, but once in it, we don't stop.

And sure the world can be a horrible place and you may fall but without the fall you will never know the flight.

i'm hufflepuff and consider Ravenclaw my second house (in a lower percentage)
The last part really mean to me, you are the first person to tell me that admires me for a long time, I know you meant the house but it was really touching. I am constantly putting myself down, and my friends are always there to me, they are not a Harry Potter fan but I sorted them into hufflepuff myself, as one of my friends told me (another, that is a Ravenclaw) “my secret for not loosing my mind in emotional intelligence classes (that is actually in my grade) is having a good friend to talk to me all the time and making me feel good about not understanding a single thing of this classes, and in this case, a hufflepuff, I guess everyone needs a hufflepuff in their lives” and I agree, not only because I am a hufflepuff but because I think that the way that we can understand everyone makes us a good friend (sorry if I seem to be showing myself off)
Actually, I would argue Gryffindor has the easiest common room entrance. Simply memorizing a password (even if it's an odd one), is not that difficult. And, as proven by the third book, can be accessed by anyone who is clever enough (really, someone can be waiting around the corner listening in and BOOM, instant assess).
There is a specific rythmn that one must use when tapping out "Helga Hufflepuff" and if you get it wrong, you get sprayed with vinegar. Hufflepuff is the only house to have a built in defence mechanism to protect its students.
You could drink a poly juice potion.
Memorizing a new password every so often sounds harder than memorizing one simple rhythm.
if you say so, but so is one rhythm that stays the same for your entire seven years at the school. As a percussionist, I'd prefer the rhythmic trick entrance. I’ve always admired Helga Hufflepuff and her belief that everyone has a right to an education. I believe that this notion of fairness and inclusion at the heart of her house. I’m glad to see it get some love

FOR REAL THO LIKE-
She didn't exactly do Hufflepuff House much justice in the book (or Ravenclaw, for that matter). Cedric was basically made as a symbol for all good Hufflepuff traits. His death is supposed to give Harry a bigger reason for defeating Voldemort. It's no longer about avenging his dead parents...it's realizing that Voldemort sees life as disposable, standing up for the wizarding world as a whole, and preventing mass genocide.
However, Rowling made up for it by giving us Newt Scamander...a Hufflepuff protagonist who is both relatable and unconventional.
And every other hufflepuff in hogwarts was written to be an asshole to harry in book 2 and book 4.
@꧁R a i n y _ E y e z꧂ still she didn’t write any main hufflepuff characters till book 4
As Call me Kevin once said: "If being Hufflepuff is wrong, i don't wanna be right!".

What Video was that?
It was on his first video when he met the professor that sells drugs to kids.
When I was in the 7th grade, one of my teachers told me that I was the real-world Cedric Diggory. I feel as though we connected through that, and we still talk even though I graduated 2 years ago. He had named his son Cedric, so it seems as though that could be the reason why we connected so easily. Hufflepuff for life.
So sweet! Hufflepuff forever!
Hufflepuff is the best house. Always has been. There's very little use for people who look down on a house whose entire philosophy is built on interpersonal care and betterment rather than personal pride and interest.
MRR D then we won’t have strong leaders
@@lionelwang1265 Depends on what you mean by "strong". Military might? Cunning? Hufflepuffs have strong morals and honourable character. They lead by setting an example of what a fair and just leader can be. If only more world leaders were Hufflepuffs, there would be no wars and competition.
Shouldn't hufflepufs treat everyone equally? I mean every house is good on it's own way, none of them is "the best"
there’s no “best house”, just the fact that you think there is shows that you’re not a true hufflepuff (hufflepuffs are the best though)
-a huge ravenclaw
jordyn lilyann Oh hey, I’m a Ravenclaw too. Anyways, I personally think anyone can be bad and good. I’m not going to like someone because they’re a Hufflepuff or a Ravenclaw and I’m not going to hate someone because they’re a Gryffindor or a Slytherin. I’d rather befriend or dislike someone based on who they are as an individual person. We, humans, are complex creatures. We’re not one dimensional. Therefore everyone can have traits from almost every houses. Their morals and values can also be taken from almost every houses as well. Which is why I’m somewhat against the sorting system at Hogwarts. It only creates a toxic environment where students are placed into houses and are, in a way, pitted against each other. Rather than thinking of themselves as individuals, they think of themselves as a collective group.
Just want to add something about the badger: honey badgers can eat snakes, take baby eagles from their nests, and fight fully grown lions. So yeah, Hufflepuff is awesome! I am so proud to be a Hufflepuff

I got a bit dissapointed when I was first sorted into Hufflepuff when I was younger. I thought I was a Ravenclaw, and valued my wits more than anything. Today however, I'm proud to be Hufflepuff, because hard work, dedication, patience and fair play are admirable traits to pursue.
This is the mindset I bring into my work as a teacher, and I'm glad that I have this view towards my middle school students. It's far better for them to meet a compassionate and dedicated teacher who value hard work. I want my students to feel like doing their best is the most important thing, and not feel bad if they don't have the highest marks in each subject.
That's me exactly!
I know some Ravenclaws who can't find their way about town, much less understand truths about our world that I know as a Hufflepuff.
Li NH that is the same as me. I felt guilty for not liking that I was in Hufflepuff because I really believed that I was Ravenclaw but now I understand why I am in Hufflepuff and really want people to stop totally hating on us
i am also a hufflepuff, and i also want to be a teacher one day, so i tell you my friend, i hope i can be just like you
I was the same way I did not want to be a Hufflepuff because I thought they were silly. I wanted to be a Ravenclaw. I now realize what an honor it is to be in a group that values what I value. My family and friends.
Hufflepuffs are gryffindor's but better.

They are completely different lol. A gryffindor would make sure to get the glory if they do anything brave. A Hufflepuff would be perfectly fine even if they didn't get the credit they deserved

@@michellea.5646 Now THIS sounds like something a Hufflepuff would say :)
I was sorted into Hufflepuff when Pottermore launched and I am very proud. We are good, not because we want something, not because we are going to be famous. I think Hufflepuff people are just...solid people, not ruled by tags of Fame and success, just wanting to be decent people doing what we think it's correct
Gryffindor: I would die *for* you
Slytherin: I would kill *for* you
Ravenclaw: I would find a way for *both of us* to live
Hufflepuff: I would die *with* you
As a Hufflepuff I can confirm that
As a proud Hufflepuff I can confirm that id say that
Stop it!!! Why did this get me? 😭
Omg I cried for a second

When I was little, I never knew what house I was in. I originally wanted to be Gryffindor like Harry but I wasn't very brave. In high school I started thinking I might be Ravenclaw as they are smart and loved books but then I realized that, while I love books, I'm not that smart and Ravenclaw are very competitive in academics. During the first big low point in my life, I decided I'd probably just be Hufflepuff since they'd take anyone. But as I've gotten older, I realize this just isn't the case. I'm definitely a Hufflepuff but not because no one else would want me but because I try to be a decent person and I like being helpful to others. Being a Hufflepuff means helping others because it's the right thing to do and trying to make the world just a little bit better. I don't have to make grand displays of greatness to do the right thing. Sometimes, just being there for someone when they need to talk or offering them a kind word is enough.
It also explains why my friend and I balance each other out so well. I read once that the best type of friend for a Slytherin is a Hufflepuff since the two balance each other out and let the best elements of both to flourish. My friend is a proud Slytherin, bold and ambitious, always looking for ways to get what she wants. But it sometimes goes too far when she doesn't have someone there to try reining her in. I often find myself trying to be the voice of reason and bringing her down to why something might not be a good idea. She, in return, often gets me into situations outside my comfort zone. It's a strange friendship but it works well for us.

I’m a Hufflepuff and my dad, mom, and older brother are Gryffindors. Every family needs a Hufflepuff to take over when things get hard, to be a role model, to be kind and true when nobody’s watching, and to be a pure spirit. Every Hufflepuff has a bad day. Some Hufflepuffs are badass. Hufflepuffs are the glue that holds together Hogwarts.
I'm a Hufflepuff and I believe that the mascot is a honey badger to be exact, and if I'm not mistaken, honey badgers can scare away lions which are Gryffindor's mascots. Just wanted to share that. 😌
They also eat venenous snakes for breakfast. They are crazy mofos
Honey Badgers are also immune to cobra venom---I think Helga was making a point to Salazar! (From a Slytherin.)
Hufflepuffs mascot is a European badger. They’re not as aggressive as honey badgers, but they can and will be vicious if they feel threatened.
Also they will eat eagle eggs. They literally are better than any of the other mascots

Me too, their description of people the sorting hat puts in Hufflepuff just fits me perfectly and that's good because I've been in love with that house since I started reading and watching Harry Potter
As a kid and mid-teen, I was kind of in denial about my whole "Hufflepuff-ness" because I thought it cemented I was this dork who could never be the hero of her own story, so I wanted to be Slytherin and claimed to be. However, once I hit college and began to mull it over, I realized not only did I feel proud of my house, but that every trait I actually LIKED about myself and didn't want to change, was what defined my being a Hufflepuff. I may not be confident or extroverted with many friends, but those who stick with me I'd do anything for and put every inch of myself into. Perhaps my Hufflepuff-ness is why I'm trying to become a nurse, because giving myself to people who need me for the rest of my life sounds really wonderful, like the most purpose-filled and validating life I could possibly lead. I'm happy to be a Hufflepuff now, and wear my badger pride on my sleeve.
Kiha717 that’s a very admirable dream, thank you
I am proud of you for accepting your true self 👏 I am also studying nursing, but I am a full on Slytherin. Sometimes I feel in conflict because I love nursing but I am also ambitious, smart and cunning. In any way, Nursing ideology goes great with Hufflepuff values, so you choose the right career!
Yeah I denided my hufflepuffness and told all my friends I was a ravenclaw
Tea Turtles thanks for the advice 😊, I'll try to channel my inner badger
As a Slytherin that values her Huffpuff friends deeply, your comment makes me smile. The books may have painted the polar opposites, but out houses walk side by side in the fandom more often than people would expect.
All my Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Slytherin friends tell me "Your just a Hufflepuff, cause' you are'nt good enough for the other houses" NO! Helga Hufflepuff says that she think EVERYBODY is good enough. Even though they are muggleborn! THATS why I feel good enough, and I'm a proud Huffelpuff.

There is a saying that goes ‘every Slytherin needs a Hufflepuff’ and I love that saying. I myself am a Slytherin and quite a few of my friends are Hufflepuff. Do you think the kids sorted into Hufflepuff in Hogwarts went through that same journey? *Hufflepuff is one the most underrated Hogwarts houses in the book and in the fandom.* Lowkey blame the movies how they represent them and many seems only care about Hufflepuff because of Cedric's death in the Goblet of Fire. I'm glad that J.K Rowling is giving us a main character that is not always belongs to Gryffindor or Slytherin. Bless Newt Scamander for existing.
Hufflepuff may not posses the bravery of Griffyndor. The ambition of Slytherin nor the widsom of Ravenclaw. *Because they don't need it.* They have kindess, a sense of justice, and overall, a sense of humbleness.
Maria Paz G. Lesme I couldn't agree with you more! Their sole moment of glory seems to come about when Cedric gets chosen as a Champion in the Triwizard Tournament, but even that's quickly overshadowed by Harry's name being slipped into the Goblet. Ravenclaw gets more recognition, due to Luna being a more focused on character, and the only non Gryffindor member of the "Dumbledore's Army" rescue team.
@@trinaq Aside from the fact that Nymphadora Tonks, was also a Hufflepuff and the wife of Remus Lupin ( however, people only focus on the wife part ). And on the topic of Cedric Digory, that's one of the things that pissed me off about The Cursed Child. Why would he become a Death Eater? Also, I feel like the biggest flaw of the Hufflepuffs is that they find it hard to fight for themselves. When I took the sorting house quiz in pottermore for the first time, I was really surprised and devastated that I was sorted in hufflepuff, and I couldn't understand it. All my friends were either the mix of the 3, but neither were hufflepuffs. I was the only one I know of so far, and I was really embarrassed. I did underestimate my own house because of the movies and what I remember from them, but when Fantastic Beasts came, I was completely shocked that a hufflepuff could be like that.I slowly see myself as a hufflepuff as I watched the way I act, and I couldn't deny that I did act and think like one. I didn't even know a badger was all I watched when I was younger all along! Add to another fact that I was shy to mention that I was a hufflepuff, because my first image of them was they were careless and just those ppl that barely exist. I even tried to change my house, but I was still hufflepuff no matter what

Can someone please explain to me why Huffflepuff is seen as the least desirable and least valued House??! I just don't understand, what's so bad about being kind, humble, hard working and loyal? Surely these are all traits that the world needs more of, surely to be celebrated not sneered at!! I'm so happy and proud to be in the favourite House of Rowling herself. If there is a House to be ashamed to be sorted into, it would surely be Slytherin, where members always seem sort of cold, selfish and detached (however good they may be underneath all of that). Please help me understand this, many people are sniffy when I say I'm Hufflepuff but can't seem to explain their attitude when I ask why.
It might be because, compared to the other houses, they don't get enough recognition for their efforts, at least, they don't in canon. Gryffindors are renowned for their courage and daring nature, Slytherins for their determination and cunning, and Ravenclaws for being witty and their stong intelligence. Hufflepuffs, despite appearing to have no distinct traits apart from their kindness and ability to find lost items, are actually loyal to a fault, hard working and believe in fair play above all. There's a lot more to them than initially meets the eye!💛
Caitriona Quigley thank you for your response, that's definitely true! It's a shame that there wasn't more time devoted to exploring Hufflepuff and Hufflepuff traits in the books. It is actually the only House common room that we never get to see. The small insight we do get into the House is mostly from Cedric and heck to be fair he was THE OFFICIAL Twiwizard champion for Hogwarts, not Harry, and great pains are taken in TGOF to explain what it actually takes to be chosen for this role (aka a hell of a lot). I'm glad we now have Newt Schamanders character to represent our House and in the future Fantastic Beasts films will hopefully show it in all its awesome glory 💛
+Ellie Jane No problem at all!😊 I'm pleased that more people are realizing just how awesome being a Hufflepuff is. There seems to be negative connotations involved with being a Hufflepuff, similar to Slytherin. If you say that you're the former, you're apparently in the "wimpy" house, if it's the latter, then apparently you're "evil". Plus, Eddie Redmayne is a Hufflepuff, just like Newt, which really suits him!😃
And I think to more casual fans/viewers of HP, it's also that Hufflepuffs don't get a lot of screen time, aside from Cedric. The three main characters are all from Gryffindor (partly for convenience's sake, I'm sure), so we see everything from their POV and are more familiar with their house, and bc our protagonists belong to it, some might see it as the house for the "in crowd." And even though Tonks is a cool character, I don't remember if we explicitly hear that she's a Hufflepuff in the movies, so those who haven't read the books wouldn't know if it weren't stated. And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think in the books the Golden Trio hang out and/or are acquaintances with more Ravenclaws than Hufflepuffs? So unlike all the other houses, Hufflepuffs got the least exposure...I think.
I honestly don't agree with the fact that people don't like being Hufflepuffs I have a lot of friends who own being a Puff. And as a Slytherin I can tell you that in real life Hufflepuffs and Slytherins get along very well unlike the book that is written from one perspective and thus is not a good place to find a good measure about any of the houses you have to go out and find that for your self.
I'm a Ravenclaw and I share a lot of Hufflepuff values, I care about non-violence, compassion and love above all else. The reason I'm still not a Hufflepuff though is my insatiable need to explore the world both physically and though new ideas and perspectives. I get bored very easily. However this video made me realise how much I relate to Hufflepuff in some ways and how it brings forth qualities that I myself strive to embody, like hard work and integrity.
Same here. It's actually not very smart even trying to divide people into such strict categories in real life.
Newt travels the world and is a Hufflepuff.
Same. I often times will refer to myself as a Ravenpuff lol
I'm a Ravenclaw who aspires to be a Hufflepuff. Because I can't be that good and kind. I need some sort of recognition everytime.
I used to think I was a Ravenclaw with Hufflepuff traits, but I've just recently come to realize that I am, in fact, a Hufflepuff. If you haven't already, you might be interested in your Ilvermorny sorting. I was sorted into Thunderbird, which favors adventurers. @@klararosengren5314 Exactly, unless the brother thinks it's funny then maybe it is but I would support him or empathise with him.
In a way you could say Hufflepuffs along with Ravenclaw are the most secure with themselves as they don’t feel it to be necessary to flaunt themselves. That is the reason they’re not as OUT THERE as Gryffindors or Slytherins. And I know some people will say that Ravenclaws are showy in their smarts, but we’ve never seen a Ravenclaw actually do that. Sure, there has been Ravenclaws who’s fallen or died due to their lust for knowledge/curiosity and “glory”(Gilderoy, Quirrel, The Grey Lady, and maybe even Luna’s mom though we don’t know what her house was but it is implied that she was a highly intellectually curious person), but no Ravenclaw quite bragged or showed off that they were the smartest for the sake of being the smartest. Luna didn’t, Cho didn’t, Olivander didn’t. Also, you COULD argue that Cerdic’s dad was QUITE showy with his son’s achievements, even those in which Cedric won by default because Harry fell off his broom due to the Dementors. And yes, we don’t know for sure what Amos’s house was but him being Cedric’s dad and him working in the Ministry AND for the Department of Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures tells me he might have been a Hufflepuff. No, being a Hufflepuff does not mean they’re all friendly and good with animals. In that way Hagrid would have been a Hufflepuff.
Anyways, what I mean is that Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws do what they want to do and what they feel like is right for them. Hufflepuffs in justice and loyalty, Ravenclaws in knowledge and wisdom. They don’t feel the need to gain glory. They don’t feel the need to be financially successful or deemed prestigious. They just do what they do, Hufflepuffs in their warm and cozy cavern steadfast and patiently like Earth, and Ravenclaws in their clean and sophisticated towers quiet and unnoticed like Air.

Yes! When I was younger I used the the Harry Potter books as an escape because unknowingly I had depression and I always looked up to Hufflepuffs and I aspired to live up to the name because I wanted that optimism and kindness in my life. And I wanted others to have it as well.
Honey Badger IS the most badass animal when compared to lion, eagle and snake. It commonly takes on animals 10x it's own size, shrugs off venom, talons and claws. Even if it suffers a blow that would kill anything else, it will without a second thought, run back into a potential death to finish the job. I think a better term is that badger is the least noble or high minded.

The unappreciated ones are Ravenclaws. There were main characters like Draco and Snape in the books and Voldemort was a Slytherin. Hufflepuffs have got Newt Scamander and Cedric Diggory. Ravenclaws haven't got a good character except Luna .
@@achyuththouta6957 Cho? And just because there is representation, doesn't mean it's accurate.
Achyuth Thouta I have to disagree. Yes, years later we got Newt but before that ,we had one character ,for one book that died with no real emotional attachment to any main character( except for cho maybe). If you ask people who have only seen the movies and are not too invested in the series it's always Hufflepuff that comes off as the "loser" house. Hufflepuffs are also considered as the outsiders in the books with only cedric being very popular, also among other houses. This is the main reason why I believe that Hufflepuffs and Slytherins are represented the least or the worst. Its all about what the characters in the series think of the individual houses and Slytherin is constantly depicted as the cruel and dark house, Hufflepuff the least necessary ( which is a whole other topic) and the one for all those who don't fit, Gryffindor and Slytherin are never however talked about in a negative way by any of the main characters we are programmed to trust!
All houses are unappreciated and overlooked to be honest, except Griffindor ofcourse.
People think that
Hufflepuffs are pushovers and losers
Ravenclaws are the nerds and cold ones
Slitherin are the evil and ruthless
But Griffindors are proud and courageous, a thing all story heroes are...
Tbf Ravenclaw dont get much representation and Gryffindor now is full of people being Gryffindor because the main characters were in it. So, all the houses have the stereotypes.
How is hagrid not Hufflepuff ;-;
Hagrid is a newt.
Yes! I refuse to accept Hagrid as a Gryffindor! He's basically Newt but _large_
Some characters are definitely not in the house they should be. Hagrid is just one of the list.
@@jeffulloa218 yeah, like harry supposed to be in slytherin, herminone in ravenclaw and ron in hufflepuff
@@juliohsb9754 I just believe that people is complex, I don't think there's a single person who only fits in an specific house and doesn't have any characteristic from other house.
so true
I just realised a new thing from this video. When she talked about how there are metallic colours in Gryffindor, Slytherin and Ravenclaw but not in Hufflepuff, I realised that the metallic colours represent the importance given to each of these houses.
Gryffindor= Gold (the most important house)
Slytherin= Silver ( although, most hated is the second most important house)
Ravenclaw= Bronze (much less talked about than the above two, is the third most important house)
Hufflepuff= Black ( least importance given to them)
Steve Rogers is a Hufflepuff and no one can convince me otherwise
I always thought Thor really fitted the description lol
@@chereelotter1252 thor seems to be gryffindor turned hufflepuff
Yeah I can see that ☺
Headcanon accepted
As a Hufflepuff, I disagree.
💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤 WHERE ARE ALL MY FELLOW HUFFLEPUFFS????!!!! BADGER PRIDE!!!!💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤

We badgers are the cutest :3
“Be Humble!” by Kendrick Lamar is Hufflepuff’s anthem...
Nice headcanon, bro. I support it.
Steve Irwin would also be a Hufflepuff for sure
Him and Newt Scamander would probably be best friends.
He so would be!
"Crikey, look at this beauty! Ya don't often get to see a Ukranian Ironbelly out here! I'm gonna try to climb on it's back."
Hufflepuff is a beautiful house. I have a Hufflepuff daughter and she’s the sweetest person, but DON’T CROSS HER!!! Their mascot, the badger is a fierce animal, may look harmless and docile but they are not! They will fight to the very end! They believe in the better good of society and in this dark world, we need the love of Hufflepuff! 🥹🫶🏽-A Griffindor
My friend usually calls me dumb for loving being a Hufflepuff, that we're the dumb house and nothing great comes out of there.
But I think Hufflepuff is a great house (I won't say the best, because no house is best house), the lovers and realistic dreamers are here, the ones who want to change this uncaring world step by step.
I've never heard someone reject another one from Hufflepuff, but the other houses do that constantly. We embrace those who are like us and those who are different, both with loving and open arms.
So be proud of being a Hufflepuff!!! 💛🖤💛🖤
To be fair, I am more inclined to trust another Hufflepuff, simply because they are less likely to stab me in the back. just sayin
Nothing good? Uh, our dear cinnamon roll Newt!
I wish I was a Hufflepuff. Your house is awesome!! I can't believe that people actually dismiss it or deems its qualities less valuable than the ones attributed to other houses. The world we live in would not hold itself all too well without Hufflepuffs bringing harmony and balance into it.
@@mai8013 wait then what's your house??
you know! You don't need to be a hufflepuff to be a tolerant kind human being. :D Just be one. You can be that what you think is great you just have to want it.
I always thought the reason Hufflepuff's house dormitory wasn't difficult to enter was because Helga Hufflepuff wanted her house to be welcoming to all. As she says. Also it's really not that difficult to remember a password either... looking at you Gryffindors. It's also worth noting Hufflepuffs is the only house which will punish you for trying to enter and getting it wrong. The other doors just won't open, Hufflepuffs will douse you in vinegar :p Anyway I feel like since fantastic beasts came out Ravenclaw is now the most overlooked house :( We should show them some love
"So this plot is a perfect example of the way that a hufflepuff excels and outperforms only to get overshadowed and even murdered in a cruel, unfair world". I FELT THAT
Well, I am that '''perfect'' Hufflepuff. But believe me, we aren't perfect.
1. We show ourselves far too little.
2. Usually its that quiet Hufflepuff, who is uncertain.
3. Sometimes, we think about others so much, we forget ourselves.
And theres more. We are not perfect. We are just like all the other houses, we have our weak places. But together, if everyone listens to each other, we are perfect. Thank you for reading.
yes 100%
All those are flaws
Yes, no house is "perfect."
Definitely
When I talked to my friend (who adores Harry Potter) about how I got sorted into Hufflepuff she said "Oh yeah you're definitely a Hufflepuff." And I felt warm. :)
I'm hufflepuff......
I mean I'm proud hufflepuff
Lolllll. I was in art class and my professor was talking bad about Hufflepuffs.. And then I raised Mt hand and said, "I'm a Hufflepuff". And he laughed... He said they're useless and I said, "newt isn't useless! He's A Hufflepuff!". And he doesn't know who that was because he never watched fantastic beast....
We're not useless, we're just quiet. Don't let anyone make you feel like you're not worth something. 💛
I would of said "I'm sorry that you're butt-hurt, because you're not wise enough to appreciate one of the best things in Harry Potter."*hair-flip*
I mean, the fantastic beasts were awful movies after all.
You should've mentioned tonks, you could win any "hufflepuffs are useless" debate with her
Francis Board Coppola :O fantastic beasts is what got me into HP and I LOVE FANTASTIC BEASTS!!! YAY NEWT AND NIFFLER!!!!!!!
