    Great!!! Just recently bought the jbl 310 for my customed restored 82 280 ZX. Didn't want to tear off the cars original radio set up and hearing you say that people indeed put it in their cars for their sounds made me smile "yes!" with excitement! lol. On top of it it's awesome for karaoke use (bought the wireless jbl microphones as well) whenever or where ever the need arises. Just perfect! Awesome!

    • @RICH_Photography
      @RICH_Photography  10 месяцев назад +3

      @inthefleshpayyourrespect8020 the power station doesn’t need to push 800w of power.
      The speaker draws around 240watts at max power of WALL power.
      Output 800w RMS power of a speaker is VERY different from drawing 800watts of wall power.

  •  Месяц назад +1

    Yeah it is 800W "TOTAL" RMS. It uses the TPA3255 in PBTL mode and per channel it uses one woofer and tweeter, same on the other channel. Thus, 400+400W=800W

    •  Месяц назад +1

      So Basically it uses two chips of TPA 3255, and per channel of it bridged to each other of 4 channels (since it is 4-channel type of IC) so JBL designed it to use two channels in bridge mode to achieve something around 400-500w @ 4 ohms. So per 2-channel that is bridged, there would be a tweeter connected to it solely as well as a woofer connected to their own designated channels with DSP processing they've made with ZGMicro Audio. That's pretty much everything I know of what they're doing, and it seems to me that it does it's job perfectly. Not bad.

    •  Месяц назад +1

      Additional Bonus of information, the reason why the sub frequencies or anything ranging from 20hz-180hz gets attenuated by 3-6dB, it's because to avoid driving the woofers too much into their limited capabilities and to avoid distortions as well. That's why some users says that the volume "Compresses" at loud volumes.

Personally i love bt and to have get uninstalled and to use a regular one like the bookbox put it in the trunk would be an awesome experience/experiment. I wanna see how much i can get out of a soundbar and 2 hand held speakers, ill put the boombox or soundboard in the trunk and have the handhelds mounted on the ceeling of the car those will give off the high sound and the box will bring the bass and fullness.

    Loved it! I was curious as to the power draw as these are rated at 8000W, yet you are running them on a 300W supply - Have you tried running them from the 10A Cigarette lighter socket maybe using an inverter? I bought the 710 Partybox to run at home and this thing is amazing, it shakes the entire house and with the bass boost on, it rattled plates off my table, I had about four plates shattered on the floor from the vibrations. The standard cigarette lighter can cope with about 10 Amps at 12V which is 120 Watts, do you reckon it would run at maybe 50% output without blowing the 15A protection fuse? Thanks.
    I don't really understand how 1000W of RMS speaker output equates to 160W of power draw, but from what you are saying, it seems possible to run a thick cable from the car battery via a fuse and then into an inverter to power these things, possible do you reckon?

    • @RICH_Photography
      @RICH_Photography  Год назад

      Glad you enjoyed it.
      The 800w RMS power does get confusing as it draws around 180w of power.
      However remember, it has a built in amplifier, the amplifier draws the +-180w and amplifies the signal to the speakers which in turn push out 800w RMS...the output wattage is not the same as wattage drawn from a 220 volt plug.
      Honestly I'm not sure if it will work out a cigarette lighter, personally I don't think so, I'm not sure what the power on spike could be if it will blow the fuse.

      @@RICH_Photography Thanks for the info - From what you are saying regarding power draw, I will give it a try on the cigarette lighter after I check the current draw using the 230V AC mains supply, The lighter sockets are rated at 10A DC but carry a 15A fuse, so it is probably safe to slot in a 20A just to try it.

      Depending on the volume and lights.

      @RICH_Photography  Год назад +1

      At full volume you looking at around 160 to 190 watts pulling from the inverter.
      Also, with the 300w Vizio inverter around 1.5 hours at max volume.
      This weekend I ran it at around 20% volume for 4 hours and still had 40% of my battery left.
      I've seen people think that the AC wattage is equal to the wattage of the speaker...🤣not the case.
