@@TawanMomo it’s sad if our national carrier Thai had competing/innovative quality like other Asian Airlines it would be successful unfortunately they keep reusing old parts and never upgrade the standards of each class. New planes but old cabins! Flying Thai feels old! Beautiful Exterior but interior is not with today’s standards!
I was at Korea during the half of this summer since I arrived home a few days ago from the airports of JFK and Incheon, and I already miss the traveling already. I can’t wait to be back at Korea again soon in the future.
God I miss travelling… Thai airways’ high standards always live up to expectations! I can’t wait to be back onboard again, especially as a fellow gold member!
Long history there but there was almost a decade in the 90’s when both Taiwanese and Korean airlines can’t fly into each other’s country following Seoul’s severing diplomatic ties with Taipei and recognizing Beijing instead. TG and CX were the only two airlines remaining who could offer direct service between Taipei and Seoul. Both also keep their service on this route after TW/KR carriers were allowed again. I know that TG flight was really popular for Taiwanese visitors to Korea not only because it’s usually cheaper but also the schedule was really good.
I think Thai Airways has stopover in Taipei because long time ago when Taiwan government broke diplomatic tie with South Korea, the bilateral flights and air traffics were banned, too. However, Thai Airways and Cathay Pacific Airways are those two non-Taiwanese and non-Korean airliners to keep the flight between Taipei and Seoul. TG from BKK-TPE-ICN and CX HKG-TPE-ICN.
This is very amazing video to watch.....I think currently David is flying World's longest flight from Singapore to JFK ... Eagerly waiting for that video in this channel
In this video there are so many people. I think there are 2 reasons of such a big amount of people: firstly, David’s travel was around Asia (in Asia live a lot of people), secondly, it was before the pandemic, so people travelled more often. Simply Aviation, thank you for another amazing video! It reminds me of the times without COVID-19 and safe, frequent trips 😀👍✈️
Thai Airways appears to have an extremely good inflight product, even on short flights. I would love to fly with them some day. I hope the company comes out of its financial difficulties and becomes one of Asia's most successful carriers again.
I've been on this flight too! Loved having two meals and was very thrilled to exit and enter the aircraft again at Taipei.. but I was on BKK-TPE-ICN route instead!
I was also onboard HS-TKA on September 2019 from Bangkok to Beijing, as usual I pretty much agree with David that the seat width and leg room are very very good, and also rare bird (they retired it all). Pretty nice crew and aircraft, hope they bring it back (773) soon.
This flight reminds me of when I went on a KLM flight from Amsterdam to Manila (via Taipei) on the Boeing 777 - 300ER at the end of 2016, Manila to Amsterdam (via Taipei) at the start of 2017, flying Economy Class with my Mum!
Amazing video as always! That Korean subway part was super satisfying to watch and surprised at how easy it was to access the airport! Hopefully there will be a trip report of Gulf Air a321neoLR in the future aswell
Even though i dont watch much aviation trip reports i still enjoy and im happy that simply aviation is still uploading 👍🏻 Get this guy to 1 Trillion subs
Excellent video as always David, Thai, Garuda, and EVA have all 3 always struck me as the underdogs of Asia! They’re not nearly talked about as much as Singapore, JAL, and Cathay, but they’re equally good, and in some cases, better!😸😸
I was able to fly super cheap with thai from singapore to tokyo in 2017, something like €200. A great experience, especially flying the 747 into haneda at night.
6:38 I’d like to make a correction: there are power outlets under the seat, but they’re not universal. Only American plugs will fit. But that doesn’t matter anymore, all the aircraft that they’re keeping will have universal power outlets.
Good thing that these seats have dedicated cup holders. Not many airline seats including Economy even include these without having to deploy the table tray. These planes are now retired due to the Thai Airways restructuring due to their bankruptcy induced by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Important fact: the non-ER variant of the 777-300 has only 2 engine options: Rolls-Royce Trent 800 or Pratt & Whitney PW4000, while the 777-300ER has the sole engine manufacturer, specifically the GE90
Next time ., i’ll try this .,, 2 meals in a row of flight time in just 7 hours and a half ., such a catering experience flight 😁😋🍽 Awesome job as always 👌🏻
Asian carriers are often very generous in food service, they offer a full meal even it's a short 2 or 3 hour international flight, unlike US carriers. The meals served on both flights were brilliant. I'd choose the flight with a stop over in TPE too. Cheaper price, more meals, just some more times, why not!
Passengers are required to leave the plane for additional check for security purpose. This could be the demand of either the transfer airport or the final destination. All fifth freedom flight from BKK to Europe undergo similar processes in BKK.
Ahhh so this was the flight before you were transferred to A380 to FRA in 8 mins…..So the missing part of the story is now filled :D Anyway, Thai used to operate BKK to ICN v.v. with a couple of non-stops flight, one making a stopover at TPE and also another one at HKG.
The description box says; "aboard their non-ER Boeing 777-300ER.". I think you meant "aboard their non-ER Boeing 777-300."? Also at 6:27; "there are no universal power outlets", but one is shown there?
It is just my guess, Seoul-Bangkok, Seoul-Taipei, Taipei-Bangkok, these routes are all high demand. so Thai airways want to catch all these demand, this the reason that I think.
Hello Simply Aviation! Great video as always! On 14 October you will be on the last Alitalia flight, right? And please, document one of the first flights of ITA - Italia Trasporto Aereo! ;)
Every time I saw ur vids remind me those gud old times when we can travel freely, another great job for u as always , btw will u do a report of SQ35/36? The route be closed after 10+ years, as a Taiwanese I’m rly curious of that! 😃
Before the pandemic, there was a large demand of air travel between Taiwan and South Korea. Since Thai Airways has 5th Freedom Rights with Taiwan, they decided to take advantage of this volume, just as Cathay Pacific and Scoot.
As a Thai, I’m glad to see my national career on this channel again. Great job as always
@Thesodadrinkers why they don't operate to the US anymore?
@@LaiLa-of4ew what he 👆said, and also because we weren’t making any profits out of it

How do you know?
Great job David, the 777-300 non ER is a rare bird!
There are some of them in Russia, “Rossiya” airlines uses them.
@@Andrew182 I think Rossiya, Korean Air, All Nippon Airways only have them for now.
Lop
In Thai’s configuration, there are a LOT of economy class seats. It actually feels larger than the 777-300ER because of the size of the Y cabin.
My national airline operate some 773
As I am Thai. I'm glad to see you enjoy travelling by my country's national airline, and thank you for supporting Thai airways. :)
same here , i hate when ppl mix politic with aviation this is why i always look for news and content from the non thai
Unfortunately your country still owes people for canceled flights here in the UK
Always refreshing to see pre-pandemic footage!
Thai used to operate a variety of 5th freedom flights using Seoul. BKK-TPE-ICN, BKK-HKG-ICN, BKK-ICN-LAX. Your videos reminded me the good old days ;)
Do you know why they stopped the flights? I get lax but y hong Kong?
Thai airways doesn’t fly to the us anymore.

Love Thai Airways! We flew from Melbourne to Oslo via Bangkok in 2019.
Wow, what a buttery landing, smooth as silk indeed.
Miss those days when the airports were so crowded. Thanks for featuring my hometown, Seoul. Miss flying Thai Airways too... ah~~

Great to see that you’re back with several weekly videos! This one was amazing. Didn’t know TG used to offer 5th freedom flights!
I took this route (TPE-ICN only) couple times, the price is cheap and the service is very decent, quite enjoyed this flight
