This video was shot by Simply Aviation contributor Simon from Stockholm. We’ve been working together for years, particularly for these premium reviews. And as you can see, we’re currently working on transitioning to voice-over videos with his reviews which require some different kinds of video clips. This video obviously has some quality flaws which we’re working on for future episodes. We already got Simon some new camera equipment for his upcoming Thai First Class Review, and we’ll focus on some better camera angles. If you have any additional feedback for Simon, let us know! :)
Awesome work Simply Aviation Team! Would love a Jetstar 787 trip report from Brisbane to Seoul-Incheon or Tokyo Narita! As always, great work. Loving your videos since 2018 :D
this is very good idea to be honest.. showcasing Brutally Honest on business class is somehow I enjoyed it.. shoutout to Simon who trip report all of these First Class and Business Class😅, you should doing some voice over more often from Felix as well bytheway
Wait a minute David, if this flight is Simon's flight on Eva airlines, why make it sound like you flew on this flight? 🤔 I know you had to do the review but it doesn't sound like Simon was flying on board. I hope Simon is not pissed if he gets around to watch this video..😅😊
@4evertrue830 I'm writing a long text of my review of the flight. After that, David does a script for the voiceover and makes the edit of the video with voiceover. At the end I watch the video before it post so we double check that all facts are my own. In my opinion this video is the best so far I've filmed. However the upcoming Thai First Class video will be even better ;)
Flew EVA's flight 28 from Taipei to San Francisco last August in Business, with a departure time of 11:35pm. They still opted for the six-course service and were only able to finish service some two and half hours into the air, making it roughly 2am, and boy everyone on the plane was definitely exhausted. By the time I got to the entree the flight attendant literally had to shake me up for it and the dessert. Flew Starlux's flight 11 in business on the same route with the same 11:35 departure time, they cleverly opted for course meals while on tray, and flight attendants asked every guest if they wanted to skip any part of the meal given the late departure time. The purser and my FA on the Starlux flight said in our conversation that most of their customers who have flown EVA on the same route also had a lot of complaints regarding this and that's why Starlux opted not to use the course-by-course service at times. Sometimes elegance is not the most important as boy I just want to sleep at 2am!!
EVA Air has an excellent reputation and have expanded steadily. They are part of the Evergreen Corporation which, in part, is one of the world's largest shipping companies. No shortage of cash, so they compete on quality not penny pinching.
@@bobc5730 that's why i said "except during covid" they don't turn a profit. also, spot rates (which your numbers appear to be) are not equal to average actual rate paid. Spot was briefly $22K for China to US but average rate being paid by large shippers with capacity contracts was maybe $12-14K
EVA Air is apparently is retrofitting 14 of their newest 777s by 2026 which coincide with their A350 deliveries. I think they would introduce an upgraded version of their 787 product maybe with new features like a door and a 4k screen, but that is like 2 years from now so it will be a long wait.
I hope so, the seats r tired. So happy they r retrofitting the 787s, can finally go to MXP directly in PY instead of diverting always to CDG or AMS (777 service so offering PY).
I flew EVA air back in November in economy and it was a good flight. The service and cabin crew were brilliant. Would fly with them again if I had the choice
10:23 you can say what ever you want about the B777 but we have to admit that they have the best takeoff sound ever, that's why the B777 is still gonna be my No1 plane, its a shame lots of airlines uses the B787 don't like those tbh
Have so good memories now about my EVA Air expierence. Flew from VIE to BKK with the B78X and retur to LHR also on the B77W. Fantastic service. I was surprised as they offer before landing in LHR a breakfast. And BR arrives in evening.
This is a very solid business class product. The service on EVA has been great on my experience. First flew their economy on a long haul and was satisfied so tried their business for a 16 hour from SFO to Shanghai. Great service, satisfying food, comfortable lie flat seats and good amenity kit. (Rlly liked the Jason wu pajamas)
EVA is my #1 fav in Biz for the last few years. They do offer a “book the cook” option for biz flights, and the choices are truly amazing. Not sure you mentioned or not, but the biz food service is “dine on demand” - EVA are next level good and good value! 👍😎✈️🎉
Thanks for posting another great trip! EVA Air has a first class Business product and service from what we've seen. I would be more than happy to fly with them. 😊✈️
What a sublime review. I have flown with EVA air to Taipei mutiple times and those flights' services were all phenomenal. Delectable meals, conscientious and meticulous flight attendants really took me by surprise.
My most recent EVA flight was in March on a 15 year-old 777, business class TPE-SFO. It felt old. The IFE was low res, unresponsive, and the flight map had no options and was only in Chinese. The lone power port is in a bad spot right by my shoulder, and the foot cubby really small for my size 45 feet. I had been on the newer product for the BKK-TPE leg on their 787-10. It was so much better. I wish EVA's 777 had that configuration. The crew was great on both flights, and the food was good. Unfortunately my beef tenderloin was underdone. The center was more raw than rare. BTW, I pre-booked my meals online as there are more options available than onboard, like SQ's Book the Cook.
I have actually taken this flight (economy to BKK, and premium economy back to LHR) - and I quite like EVA Air as an airline. Had no issues with them, decent leg room and food, good IFE. Would definitely recommend or use EVA Air again if needed.
Having ridden EVA Air to and from Hong Kong, I can affirm that they are one of the best airlines! Economy was already good enough, can’t wait to ride business!
When i go to Thailand we use eva air or thai depending on which is cheaper departing from london, and i'm amazed that you made this video. Because most eva air flight reviews from london to bangkok is a channel i've never heard about. ☺️
I agree the united lounge in LHR T2 is way better than the US based ones. When I just missed the breakfast service they were more than happy to oblige and bring me 4 plates of breakfast items from the kitchen!
I like the Amenity kit, the colour of choice and design on handbag, combs, eyeshade, lotions, they all look great. Personally I think if pajamas share the same colour, that would be better!
Great flight and review. Finally Simon review back in Brutally Honest. Hope this aircraft got upgraded, especially the seat. 5th freedom of flight make flight like this is possible to enjoy premium cabin.
This video is beautiful. Why EVA Air from London Heathrow to Bangkok non-stop, but not to Taipei. I think Eva Air can fly from London Heathrow to Taipei non-stop without leaving Bangkok.
I mean the fact that the united lounge offers hot food because of long haul flights seems a bit farfetched since you’ll be well fed in business class, probably better than in the lounge
BR068 is often late out of LHR as the inbound BR067 (which makes the outward BR068) is often late leaving BKK. It hardly ever leaves on time. I think that the price of business class is not competitive in comparison to other airlines. Over £3.2k LHR-BKK-LHR (On the EVA website) for later on in the year is very steep, even if the product is decent.
BR is my airline of choice, and being in TW helps. I love their service and actually go out of my way to fly them as much as possible. However, the J seats on the 777 are tired, I don't sleep that well on them, and they really need to step up the wine offering, lacking imho. IFE movies also not the best, everything else onboard, top of the league. Don't want to talk about their lounges i. TPE, those are a disgrace... Their best lounge is in BKK.
I travel EVA PE. I Pre-Order my choice of meal (Seafood), seat preference and book into the Plaza Premium Lounge which has great food (fresh baked crusty rolls, choice of cheeses ... and cauliflower cheese !!!!!) and serves red wine 2 glasses at a time ...... I once used it on a Sunday - Never again, too many short haulers heading back to work or home!
Have flown both EVA and THAI buisness LHR to BKK recently and although ok I think both have dropped in service they delivered pre covid. I had the same experience at Heathrow. No showers available
EVA Air is officially called E.V.A Air. But they are more conveniently referred to as ee-va Air... not air-va air as you pronounced in this video. Overall a lovely, informative video, as always. 😊

I had an upgrade to their biz class on a 3 hour flight and wasn’t impressed at all. Mediocre food, and the seat is super hard. I did a bid on my long haul from TPE to CDG and was rather happy I didn’t won. Food on the CDG to TPE route in Premium Economy was however top notch. Still prefer CI on this itinerary.
As long as you’re on the ground, the tax code of the country you’re in applies. But once you’re in the air, it does not. Therefore, particularly for expensive beverages, the savings from not serving it on the ground can be quite substantial.
Nice. Next report please on your Channel : cape air, pascan aviation, pen air, Canadian north, red air, lynx air, play air, ravn air, mokulele air, thrive aviation, netjets, central mountain air, air Greenland, chrono aviation

Underwhelmed by Heathrow (horrible), the awful United Lounge, and the underwhelming seats. Service was good but I don't think I'll go out of my way ever again to fly BR.

The display of the aircraft type with the all the different liveries that the airline operates is such a great addition to the video! Thanks!
Probably takes a lot of effort as well
@@thegaminghydra592especially that hello kitty livery which could’ve taken nearly a month

The sounds of the 777-300 are music for my ears. And congratulations on this channel. Is my favorite. Very professional and details
Can you please try and review China Airlines from Taiwan business class product on their A350 too?
Their business class on the 777-300er is my fav. It’s also on some a350s, but which one are u talking about?
They're both equipped with the same product but the experience must be better on the A350 as it is a newer technology designed aircraft
This is my favorite combo CI in biz on a 350. Nothing beats this
Good to see you are making the most of the hospitality this time
