Thai airways is 1 of my favorite airline that I love to fly because I like the livery and uniform and it's awesome. I wish Thai airways have air vent on a wide body jet, amenity kid and noise cancelling headphone in economy class on a medium to long haul flight.
I agree with you on the air vents, definitely asking too much if you're asking for complimentary stuff they hand out in business class, people would just steal them. Honestly the complimentary dental kit was generous for economy
Very interesting video. Compared to other recent videos on TG 777-300ER it seems there are different seats and different IFE. Some still have the old seats and old IFE with corded remote and very bad touch responses, not to mention very bad conditions of the seats and cabin. The one in your video seem pretty new. Any way to understand which frames have the new cabin and which the old one? I´m flying TG to BKK early next year and the old IFE and Cabin doesn´t look appealing.
Thanks! Unfortunately I'm not aware at this time on which aircrafts have received the retrofits, this aircraft was fairly new when I flew. Although the older TG 77W's are still 3-3-3 so still pretty roomy
@@nonrevmax Thanks for your reply. I have checked again in your video and at the beginning one can see the Reg of the plane, which is HS-TTA. TTA to TTC are the 3 Boeing 777-300ERs with First class, used on LHR but not on FRA which gets the 2 Class model. So I think only those 3 frames with F Class have received the new Y Class seats.
I am fairly certain that I flew with a Boeing 777-3D7 which had the old seats and entertainment system. There was lots of space but I found the seats uncomfortable to sit in. They did recline down pretty far back which made the table pretty much unusable when the person in front was reclined. The person next to me had a broken control for the entertainment system and the touch was indeed very bad. I found the food to be disappointing, though I only had the same breakfast as in the video (which tastes the way it looks) and a different main course.
Hiya Nice video. You said a good point.. each flight is different true... I recently tried China Eastern. London to Shanghai to Bangkok. Nice flight food and crew just as good as Emirates and Qatar..yes I would fly with them again..But if the price is good I will Fly Thai airways to Bkk the next time. Thanks for the nice video and your time and effort to share your experience..
Emirates has 3-4-3 and it’s really good. Idk y people crib about it when the seat is the same size or .5 inches smaller. It’s only the aisle that faces a problem otherwise the 777 can handle 3-4-3.
It’s not usually they fly the new configuration 777-300er to Sydney it’s very rare. They mostly fly the original configuration which doesn’t have First class. Normally for Sydney flights it’s only Business and Economy class all the time.
@@AviationADC there is no such thing as 77M because I checked the seat configuration for each of these Thai Airways Boeing 777. The 777-200 is only coded as 777 ,777-200er is coded as 77E ,777-300 coded as 77R and the 777-300er for the 14 that Thai Airways order are 77B.
Quite a few airlines actually have the 777 with 9 seats across instead of 10. ANA, JAL, Ethiopian, Cathay Pacific, Korean Air, Singapore Airlines and probably a few more
But in all fairness, most fairness most of them are outdated and when it's time for a retrofit (i.e. Cathay), they'll opt for a 10 abreast config. I knew that JAL has 2-4-2 on their Dreamliners (which is similar) but have yet gotten a chance to fly it yet
@2:14 The liquid restriction is pretty standard at international airports though. It's not limited to just water. If your coffee was liquid, then it was correctly disallowed, not plain stupid 😉
@@nonrevmax right, in that case I think it was because the hot drinks could cause harm / hazard during boating (e.g. in case of spilling). Cold drinks are fine. This is also common at most international airports. I never boarded with hot drinks in my hands, but saw other passengers in the same situation as you.
@@siameseworldnope, this has happened to me on all Aus flights back from Asia. It’s happened to me in Jakarta, Bangkok, and KL and Hong Kong all screen right as you board the plane. It’s really stupid.
The area you film is near my favorite restaurant! Pizzeria Lemoncello.
Soi 11,next to eleven hotel.

I see, but I wish they have eye mask for sleeping. Even though it's a day time long haul flight, I need eye mask to sleep.
Well... I wasn't aware that everyone has chosen the 3-4-3 layout. This is truly a game changer for Economy Class and makes Thai Airways even better
I will fly CGK-BKK-CPH return next week. Hopefully it will be a good trip on Thai :)
Flew on their a380 from Bkk to Nrt in 2020 January and it was great.

Thanks for the feedback! It's a lot better taking a direct rather then having a stop over, that's forsure
love the a350 900 I used twice this year already again this November. very comfortable from Sydney to bkk
I feel any airlines that have 3-4-3 on 777 or a350 should instantly lose their 5 stars and the only way to gain it back is to go back to 3-3-3

@@Gary-vv5gt the A350 don’t have room for 3-4-3 configuration that’s why it can only be 3-3-3 due to it’s narrow width of the plane.

Agree that the Thai 777 is more roomy than the A350. IMO it was much better on the Mel to Bkk route.
Lovely
I fly Thai
Can you connect your headphones to the TV screen by Bluetooth?
You can't. But 3.5mm headphone jack to Bluetooth dongels like AirFly are a lot more easier and cheaper to get now
Thank you @@nonrevmax
Thai new 777-300er 77Y with first class even use 3-3-3
Did you sleep on the plane, if so, how many hours and how much did you pay to fly Thai airways to Sydney?
Maybe 2 hours or so? It was a mid day flight so I wasn't sleeping too much

Nope.
This is for additional screening already past security with coffee purchased airside, while drinking it. Pretty stupid.
