    Hey cHEwY gum gums!
So I decided to fly Scoot Airlines for the first time to Singapore. I didn't opt for any upgrades, no food, no extra space...just a NORMAL SEAT. How did I survive my first SCOOT flight?
If you want to check out what I did when I arrived in Singapore check out my travel vlog

really considering taking Scoot from Manila to Sydney. I think it's not too bad. There would be 1 stop in Singapore though, but other tickets right now are insanely expensive. Thanks for the review.

I think it's worth it. Or at least fly cheap to Singapore and you can access more flights that are cheaper to Manila, such as Air Asia etc.
Good luck and have a great time

Been flying Scoot a few times mostly Sydney - Singapore (round trip). So far so good. Like you said, not anyone into movies, wifi etc. Booked ScootPlus $1500 come with free selection, 30kg, priority boarding vs Singapore Air $2000 economy excluding fee for seat selection. No brainer. Scoot economy is even damn cheaper.
Thus far, touch wood, have not encountered long delay.

    • @VirtualOliverP

Great to hear mate, yeah I agree, having all the perks of 30kg luggage etc beats SIngapore Air if you can live without the movies and wifi :-) May your luck continue flying Scoot!

Unless you get downgraded because plus is oversold, This happened to me last week. Of my $760 fare they 'compensated' me with $193 - as opposed to the $450 difference I paid over economy. I will never trust this thieving airline again.

Like you, i bring my own IFE old movies in my PAD (i know we will doze off after 1 hour watching, we will never finish watching a movie, so why bother with unpleasant surprises), Music i like on Phones, Noise cancelling earphones, blankets (for hygiene), sleep masks, pillows, .. For the food, i still use Scoot preorders but we will wait a few hours till we get to Changi food courts with so many good variety in one place. We consider long layovers are a plus for shopping, eating good food, relaxing in private lounges, taking a shower and peaceful sleeping after shopping as well as using Changi nice facilities before long flights. Changi has so many travel facilities so we can relax after hectic work schedules at home. I will travel your route in March to visit to my old home town. It is almost a perfect holiday compared with travelling long trips on Bangkok BTS to eat at Terminal21 Asok.

i'm flying singapore to japan this july on scoot. i didnt choose a meal on the outward flight because its a redeye flight. might sneak some snacks and definitely a bottle of water. hopefully nothing happens.
i flew airasia to japan in 2019. transit in KL.
all was fine until the arrival at Haneda, we reached there 1.5 hr later than expected.
by the time one clears custom, so it was after midnight. (the plane still had to fly back to KL)
SG-KL, it was tomyum fried rice with egg, too much lemongrass
KL-HND, sweet-sour chicken meatballs on rice. too much garlic.
on my trip back, i chose to transit at Bangkok. but since i was on happiness high at the end of my trip. i cant remember what i ate on the flights back to singapore.
all i remembered AirAsia flight from bangkok to SG was extremely noisy, the frame made an ungodly noise when the wheels left the ground

@@VirtualOliverP there's a new LCC, Airjapan, subsidiary of Japan Air.
they finally opened up booking for Sin-NRT. flights from end of april onwards.
previously its only Incheon-Narita and suvarnabhumi(bangkok)-Narita.
i just looked at their prices a full package (2x checked in luggage, meals and seat selection).
its cheaper than Scoot economy with 1x check-in and a meal on one flight.
i'm guessing they are discounting a lot to gain market interest.
the have travel insurance but they are still reviewing for singapore, so no info yet.
damn the buyer's remorse is kicking in.
and i look at their in-flight menu for bangkok/incheon menu.. what reasonable prices for drinks.

I will NVR fly any LCC for flights above 2 hrs. Period!I don't dare what ppl say it ain't enough of savings because my comfort and life means alot to me. Scoot food is the worst I have ever seen in any LCC... even a dog won't eat it! When I am in scoot for flights less than 2 hrs I only get their Coco water and that's it! LCC ain't my thing. The savings and the timings of the flights ain't worth it and at times when you do your homework right you pay just a tad more for full service.

@@alembess9129 I would recommend being distreet with bringing a bottle of water on board. Maybe just put it in your bag, they never checked my bag so I was fine bringing two 600ml water bottles. As for nacks, I bought gummi lollies, dried fruits and chips which I brought out only when the plane was in the air. So yeah, be distreet about it and you should be fine

Scoot lost my Armani coat, which was in the checked-in luggage, and they refused to compensate for the loss. I followed all the steps and provided all the supporting documents, but the airline refused to compensate for the lost item without explaining why.
What is even worse is that Scoot keeps wasting your time by repeating "you should do this and you should do that" again and again. For more than a month, I have been trying to talk to the department which is in charge of this matter, but no one was available.
In summary, AVOID SCOOT AT ALL COST if you value your time and money.

Don't fly Scootplus. If you want to be treated like cattle and the price is right then just go economy. I was downgraded from plus to economy last week (first time flying with Scoot). Only $193 of a $450 fare difference between the two fare prices. So ripped off $257 and had the joy of being crammed into economy. Then they left 45 minutes late. Downgraded because the Scootplus fare was oversold - WTF? 191cm tall and I would never fly this crappy thieving airline again.

I run a business and we get it wrong we refund the full price and add something as compensation and to keep custom. Scoots approach is to only give back a partial refund for their mistake. Not good business, totally unfair and unscrupulous. I should not have to argue to be refunded for what I did not receive.@@VirtualOliverP

i wonder if its possible for them to oversell Economy as well.
i booked a trip to japan in july this year. i'm 171cm tall and fit into Airasia seat with less than 2 inches space from my knee to the seat in front.
i would have booked zipair if only i was bringing a carry-on only.
zipair doesnt have travel insurance coverage for non japan residents.
and we know how cheap travel insurance plan/company works (the airline has to compensate them before compensating the passenger)
well, i get what i paid for/willing to spend.
