@telebender I'm in Northern Ontario! My go to was while I was still drunk. We'd go to a gas station restaurant and order large breakfasts (my favourite was called the 'Lil logger'). I'd be about 90% the next day. I was also in my late teens and early 20s, so that could have been a part of it! My favourite day after/hangover food was cold piza, Cheetos, and a can of Coke or Pepsi. I couldn't eat much while hungover.
I'm one of those weirdo's in the world that doesn't get drunk, thus no hangover. However, I'd still love to try these because they all look so amazingly good!

I don’t drink, but I have a disease that can trigger all the symptoms of a hangover without the necessity of drinking the booze first. And not a one of these “cures” would do anything other than make it much worse. Lucky me, I guess?
OMG Paddy "motorboating" the noodle dish , HYSTERICAL. Cure wise? At 57 I can say I have only been "hungover ill" once (NEVER to be repeated).
Cindy's 71 year old Dad here. As someone who has had more drinks than he should have, the best cure is to not get hungover. Before going to sleep, drink at least a pint of water, tea, or soda. You won't be dehydrated thereby preventing the hangover. Take the word of one who knows. Also, I have chicken fillet on a half loaf of french bread quite often. Mayo, lettuce and onion for me, but never for a hangover. Learned something new. And we live in the U.S., so not just an Irish thing, TRYers.
I totally agree with this...but I'm hooked up wrong and have never been hungover in my life. For whatever reason, I'm perfectly fine the next day, no matter what I put away the previous night...I did wake up still drunk once, though (passed out on my front porch, woke up about 6 hours later in hospital, and still tried to leave to go to work while absolutely trashed).
An Irish Fry-up you can have the next morning. You can have a Spice Bag right after the pubs have closed. I'm just saving up until I can visit Ireland and have a proper spice bag.
To Ciara's point about "a Chinese" I think it's more that to American ears "ordering a Chinese" sounds like you're ordering a Chinese person. We would say "ordering Chinese" instead.
@@woodcider Can't imagine going there. I get if it's a buffet that serves a wide variety but a regular Chinese restaurant should not have to pander that much.
Easily one of my all time favorite Try Channel videos! Besides seeing everyone so happy, I feel like I got a look into what people really do eat in Ireland (after a night out drinking anyway). I know now what I want to try when I visit Ireland! --- I'd love to see this same video with the rest of the Try Channel crew! Same food. Different people.
In NY we just call it chicken cutlet hero. Have to say your Chinese takeaway is unique, but ours does have deep fried chicken a fry’s or pork chops and some weirdly have Mexican tacos but it’s primarily takeout and not at Chinese Restaurants. Your stuff looks amazing
If you guys ever got to travel to the other countries again (besides the USA) to TRY the local food and get your impressions from the ground, go Mexico. You have a choice of weather, terrain, types of food, locations and budgets. Besides I really feel there is a strong affinity and similarities between the cultures. Laid back personalities, salt of the earth attitude, hospitality everywhere, great assorted food, christian catholics, spiritual, nature appreciative, happy drinking and happy tasty hangover cures also.
Big glass of water and a couple aspirin before passing out is a game changer on its own. Unfortunately that info is rarely in my head when it hits the pillow after getting carried away. Bloody Mary and a rare rib eye is my favorite hangover meal, but usually I just eat whatever is laying around the house and whine about it.
We used to stop at the all night diner on the way home, for coffee and breakfast. Soaks up the excess beer, fixes the sour stomach- and the time spent sobers you up a bit. Good way to stave off the bed spins, so you can actually sleep. Worse comes to worse, you HAVE something to throw up, not just sour stomach acid... Not unlike WWII Destroyer sailors carrying hard candies in their pockets. For WHEN you get seasick, it doesn't taste quite so disgusting, lol
I can tell you with great certainty that the Breaded Chicken Cutlet sandwich, which is what we call it, can be found in NYC. It’s also how we eat our chicken cutlet dinner leftovers at home too. It may have come from the long, deeply rooted Irish influence on NYC, but it’s definitely not unheard of here.

2-3 Excedrin Migraine (or equivalent) for headache and 1 Dramamine (takes care of nausea) Take when you go to bed and you'll wake up feeling great. The caffeine in the excedrin counteracts the drowsiness you usually get from the dramamine.
Here in Canada we would call that a Chicken Sub, the major submarine sandwich companies (Mr. Sub-/Subway/Firehouse) all offer something like that in either breaded (crispy) or grilled.
Hangovers have a genetic component to them? Does it skip generations or did I get blessed with the extremely recessive trait (like you)? I get a hangover maybe once every 5 years. But when I do get one, it's the type where I can't eat, can't move, can't function. Either after a wedding, or a funeral. I think it must be the combination of too much drinking and too little sleep.
9:36 the staple stodge takeaway is the exact same across all of Europe but id actually agree, the spice bags definitely seems more prominent in Ireland then their counterparts in other countries.
My go-to hangover cure -- back when I was a big drinker -- was fried eggs, bacon, corned beef hash, biscuits and gravy. If I couldn't get corned beef hash... I'd settle for hash browns. And LOTS of hot tea with milk and sugar. Oh, and the gravy went on everything! Just pour it on!

Being diabetic, I shouldn't have it but I have seen it on this channel several times and am craving it sooooo badly! I really want to try one. You guys are wonderful to watch and I have so much fun with you. Thank you for all you do!
Sausage Slop. Ground sausage mixed with cream cheese and onion. Placed in a baking dish with half can of crescent rolls on bottom and other half on top of sausage. Bake until crescent rolls are golden brown
The “chicken filet roll” is only unique to Ireland for that name. At best. But that exact sandwich & variants certainly exist in the US under a variety of names.
A bottle of Pedialyte, and just about any known hangover food, paired with some strong Bloody Maria (not Mary - Tequila is required for this, Reposado for the win) = perfection. And then a fat joint to the dome and a nap, lol.
Tex mex wet burrito with refried beans/meat is the best cure, right after good home made by a mexican Abuela's menudo! Best hangover cure ever! But I also drink a quart of powerade or Gatorade and some tylenol before bed. when i go out - I tend to try and have a drink then have a water then eat munchies if I'm out drinking. It really helps not to just pound alcohol all night one after another 😅
My favorite hangover/post drunking food was a monte cristo form the california diner on long island. Challa french toast, roast turkey , carved ham and swiss drenched in maple syrup.
Chicken filet roll in N.J is a chicken cutlet sandwich. We may also put broccoli rabe and provolone cheese yum!! Also I found it funny many Irish foods from the video are also hangover foods lol luv it!!
American veteran and got my hangover cure when I was in Germany. It’s the only base Burger King chucking hoggie sandwich. With a side of onion rings and ranch for dipping .
if anyone can make unhealthy chicken (and any other kind of meat) sandwich rolls it is the usa... so yeah, of course we can order the same thing from multiple different places. chicken, lettuce, tomato? ah yes, very very common. but if they are happy with theirs, it's all good.
I'm not really sure if you really read all the comments, but I love your channel and all the Tryers. From Alaska originally now in Oregon. I just wanted to say there were a couple places back in AK that were great for hangovers. Mine was pancakes, caribou sausage, potatoes and mimosas. A small amount of what bit you the night before can help that edge ease off, just have to drink some water with it and a good nap afterwards. Thank you for bringing a smile to my face when I need it most. ❤
3 bean burritos from Taco Bell on the way home, 16 oz of water & aspirin before bed. Red Gatorade, runny egg, toast when you get up. Next what you eat on the way home during Walk of Shame.
I'm too old for hangovers/drinking like a madman, but mine was: at first wake up (usually after two hours of sleep), chug a Gatorade and half a dose of ibuprofen, then go back to bed... never had another hangover after I started doing this.
I become so drunk that I have trouble walking,(or get drunk in general), but if I do get drunk, I chug lots of water and take a strong B vitamin supplement. I've never had a hangover.
The Irish definition of Chinese food is hilarious. I think they'd be shocked by real Chinese food, or even the "mostly-Chinese" food we get here in the US. Also, sports/energy drinks are better for a hangover than just water, because they replenish the electrolytes (specifically salt) you peed out while drinking.
Ciara always makes her co-host happier with her presence, but this food made Laura happier than I've ever seen her. Just a delightful shoot and I really do need to try a spice bag.
I have never had a properly made Irish/Scottish/English breakfast [yes I know there are variances, but a wealth of breakfast is the same], but I think it would rank quite high. Pho is a great hangover soup, but if we are going for solid food it has to be hash-browns extra crispy, eggs Benedict, a side of fruit [whatever is in season, but if nothing is melon please], and a Chai tea with extra "Sugar in the Raw", and a mimosa because returning to homeostasis needs to occur, slowly. I am from Oregon for informational purposes.
3 of the 4 I REALLY want to try. Fry up, chicken noodles and spice bag are now on my bucket list. My cure has, and always be the Bew Hersey staple, Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese on a hard roll with salt pepper and ketchup with a side of Disco Fries!
Hey Try people - take that chicken filet roll, put some buffalo sauce over the chicken, cover the top in mozzarella cheese and bake that little gem until the cheese is nice and golden on top. Higher heat is better, that way the cheese bakes without drying out the rest of this lovely creation. You can thank me later.
My hangover cure ( got it from my Dad so it's a heritage thang) is a peanut butter, fried onion, and sardine sandwich on buttered toast. If you really want to fancy it up, switch the peanut butter with Nutella, and instead of buttered toast, microwave a couple of waffles or pancakes.... and then add a bloop of maple syrup (cuz I'm Canadian ... eh) Wash it all down with a mug of tea, and have a shower....
In the American Southwest and points south of the border, menudo is the hangover choice. Its made with cleaned tripe ,spices, etc. My dadhad a hangover once.He said grandma told him to take Seidlitz powder.
Great video! Still wish I could try one of those spice bags here somehow in Tennessee. Awesome you guys got Thelma in the video this time too! What? That was just Bláithín ?! No way!

Being diabetic, I shouldn't have it but I have seen it on this channel several times and am craving it sooooo badly! I really want to try one. You guys are wonderful to watch and I have so much fun with you. Thank you for all you do!
aspirin and gatorade... but I really would like to see the irish peeps try menudo - which is a hang-over cure here
I hate menudo. I substitute posole instead
The reactor pairings in this video are magic. ❤❤❤
It really helps not to just pound alcohol all night one after another 😅
In England we can’t just get a chicken fillet roll but my mum would sometimes do a homemade one.
Which part of England?
I think it’s the bread. Irish bread is just so amazing!
My favorite hangover/post drunking food was a monte cristo form the california diner on long island. Challa french toast, roast turkey , carved ham and swiss drenched in maple syrup.
I have never once in my life used a fork and a knife together. we always just cut the food with the fork. I'm such uncultured swine.
Chicken filet roll in N.J is a chicken cutlet sandwich. We may also put broccoli rabe and provolone cheese yum!! Also I found it funny many Irish foods from the video are also hangover foods lol luv it!!
Don't drink anymore. Many fond memories of decades spent in wretched excess. That'll have to do until even the memories are gone.
American veteran and got my hangover cure when I was in Germany. It’s the only base Burger King chucking hoggie sandwich.
With a side of onion rings and ranch for dipping .
The chicken filet sando looks delicious but what makes it different than the same thing in the US? Legit asking, I’m curious as hell.
Leprechaun dust.
nothing just like salt and pepper chicken in the uk is exactly like a spice bag but they think everything in Ireland is unique or something
@@tarmaque Ha! Wasn't expecting that...
I love the food selections! I NEED TO GO TO IRELAND!!!!! Thanks for the video!
It literally is just a chicken sandwich lol
Came to say the same thing. Burger King has the exact sandwich on their menu.😂
It is literally a basic BK chicken sandwich.
It's like one.... And yet nothing like one. It has a very specific taste that isn't the same as other countries.
if anyone can make unhealthy chicken (and any other kind of meat) sandwich rolls it is the usa... so yeah, of course we can order the same thing from multiple different places. chicken, lettuce, tomato? ah yes, very very common. but if they are happy with theirs, it's all good.
@@briwanderzpo boys come to mind.
Mixing alcohol with aspirin is not recommended.
I'm going to Ireland for the first time in July. I can't wait to try some of these!
Nothing is better than menudo. PERIOD!
Cyborg(Ciara) with a hat is completely awesome. Also, the BlondeShell(Nicole) is wonderful(as usual).
Yup
you may just be a Swifty
Zbiotics before drinking and Pedialyte after, but before bed. If any residual effects remain after waking up, spring water and ibuprofen.
Yeah, I don't recall any Chinese restaurant in the States having any sort of curry. Curry to me is Indian, generally speaking.
Irish people are well aware that its not authentic. They mention this numerous times in the video. Doesn't change the fact that its still delicious.
Love this channel! You are all amazing.
I was in my happy place. 😆
Thank you for this channel What a simple concept That works The people On hear are awesome
For the chinese food, I'm AMAZED at the amount they put on every fork and put in their mouths. Each would be three mouthfuls for me.
I fecking love your channel, look forward to new episodes. LLAP!
I want every single one of these. Especially the Irish Breakfast Fry.
Pho is my hangover go to. Lots of other things will work to, but if I have to do something that day, Pho makes it manageable.
HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY GANG! 🎉❤🎉
Ciara always makes her co-host happier with her presence, but this food made Laura happier than I've ever seen her. Just a delightful shoot and I really do need to try a spice bag.
I've never been more jealous of a Try video than this one. It all looks so damn good!
Irish with a hangover…never
I have never had a properly made Irish/Scottish/English breakfast [yes I know there are variances, but a wealth of breakfast is the same], but I think it would rank quite high.
Those noodle dishes and spice bag dishes look like US proportions, nice.
Texas here! Bean burritos, street tacos, or a bowl of Texas Red are all staple hangover cures you'll find in the Lone Star State.
Ciara looks very Succession today… Ciara Roy, future CEO
My hangover cure ( got it from my Dad so it's a heritage thang) is a peanut butter, fried onion, and sardine sandwich on buttered toast. If you really want to fancy it up, switch the peanut butter with Nutella, and instead of buttered toast, microwave a couple of waffles or pancakes.... and then add a bloop of maple syrup (cuz I'm Canadian ... eh) Wash it all down with a mug of tea, and have a shower....
They act like no one has ever had a subway looking chicken sandwich before 😂😂
Omg it's like geeting a Grinder .. Not the same
@@AMPProf same same, but Different lol
In the American Southwest and points south of the border, menudo is the hangover choice. Its made with cleaned tripe ,spices, etc. My dadhad a hangover once.He said grandma told him to take Seidlitz powder.
Soooooo ...
It just anything Irish folks eat ? 😏 😉
YUMMY! Wow does the majority of those hangover meals look fantastic. I'm certainly going to try them. Omg did it look good.
Who’s gonna be well enough to whip up an entire breakfast after a night of drinking?
Before the pain hits Im game ..
the cafe😂
Great video! Still wish I could try one of those spice bags here somehow in Tennessee.
Awesome you guys got Thelma in the video this time too!
What?
That was just Bláithín ?! No way!
