I had my hut plus forty years of tools including my lathe burnt to the ground last March! Out of all my tools my lathe is what I miss most. My insurance only covered household items! Gutted in more than one way. My deepest sympathy to yourself and your Father-in-laws family, really bad news. Take care my friend 👍😷👍🏴
I love watching this video, I've watch it like 15 times. So much great info and ideas and problem solving and inspiration to make my own lures better and such an awesome old school classic bait brought back to life. Cant beat a classic! Great work! Also im sorry for your loss and a great way to dedicate to a loved one.
Excellent work! I was very impressed by your adapation of the doweled jig. It seems that the aluminium lip is easier to work than lexan and can be tuned. Studying the classics is a great way to add more value to your output.
Yeah I loved the action. It will need a little tuning because it feels like it'll blow out at higher speeds but it'll be tunable. I'll get it dialed in!
Your work is beautiful I just started carving glide baits I have a long way to go my painting is ok . I’m just going to keep on going .Sorry for your loss Covid hit me three weeks after my four way bypass. Thank the good lord I’m fine now.thanks for sharing your awesome talent
What kind of pen did you sign your lure with ? Good video I liked watching some of the things you did different then what I do it always gives me ideas to try different things or try to tweak things I've seen. Sorry to here about your father and God bless
Since i saw the video you put out on that big musky lure, i got myself 3 spokeshaves since then(old school stanley 151 and 2 kunz haha What an awesome tool that i didnt knew existed. I really enjoy the content you put into your videos. Very informative and fun. Something extra i start doing but i dont know if it makes a difference, i drill a hole in the lip where it goes inside the wood. I tell myself a little bit of epoxy will go inside and give an extra hold. Keep it up bud. What will be next? Cant wait to see. A dive and rise? A creeper? A multi segmented lure? Happy belated new year to you and family :)
sometime I would like to see your technique for twisting tail hooks for through wires. Also I think it is pronounced Viggler you have to have that Scandinavian accent.
I was hoping you would have painted it to match the pattern of a "creek chub" to give tribute to the original designers and to the lures name that was represented. My 2cents
@@FrettholdBaits I’ve heard some guys say if you do another coat of epoxy after 2 hours the second coat will not adhere or stick to the first. When you sand it then paint it and put the finishing coat on does it stick without any issues?
I also like this kind of slow and fast "double action".
The block thing for 90degree is freakin 200iq 🤘
Awesome. Used to love the pikie

This was great! Your respect for old lures is appreciated. I’d love to see you imitate a Paw Paw Wotta Frog. 🙂
That's amazing. Love the old-school paintjob on that old-school lure. Was so much joy watching this form into a lure. Great job!
A work of art 👍🏻 big thanks and love your vids ...👍🏻

Thank you and cheers to Mr. Ross.
Nice work. You are a very good painter.
You got mad skills brother. It's really beautiful work. I've made mouse lures and baby bird lures, but your work is outstanding.
that jig idea was brilliant!
Gotta be smarter than the wood
Great Job! I respect your appreciation for old lures. Love to see you recreate a Paw Paw Wotta Frog. 🙂
Didn’t mean to repeat...it appeared at first that my first attempt didn’t go through. 🙂
make more videos like this please! i challenge you to build a jointed believer

Awsome lure man, but could you so more when toi assembling the baits cause I was wandering how you made the joint connection
Creek chub i indeed invent the crank bait
Would love to see you do a minnow style twitch bait, like a grandma or jake type lure! Sorry for your loss.
👍👍👍👍👍

Just saw the ending of the video. Trully sorry for the lost bud.
The last time I made some I bought wooden dowels a the hardware store to start them.
sorry for your loss!

Love your work! What’s in the Pepsi bottle that you sealed the bait with?
i have a ton of these i got from my grandparents but i have no idea how to use these because im just getting into fishing

Amazing work! Tnx 4 sharing. how did you connect the two parts? too bad that wasn't shown. keep it up!
I didn't need to be shown.. its a simple loop and wrap. I thought it was obvious, sorry.. ill include it in the next one.
that lure will be killer! You will be asked to make more! Wiggle action while 'walking'.... WHAT !!? Giant in its future!
I sure hope so, buddy.
update on the lures success? watched the excellent video again!
I'm curious if you repaint old CCBC lures?
You obviously get your glue for free. Lol.
Try drilling the thru wire hole first. I do all my thru wire drilling on my lathe!
correction creek chub invented the crank bait
What is the through wire and where do I get it Thanks
What exactly do you use to scuff the epoxy before you paint it?
400 grit sandpaper usually. You can use anything.. just want to get rid of the shine and it's good to go.

How did you tie the lure together?
Just bend a loop, put the tail on and wrap the wire around a few times. Very simple.
where did you get that scale mesh from
Hobby Lobby I believe. I think they carry it at JoAnn Fabrics as well.
@@FrettholdBaits thanks Bud Sorry about your Father in Law
