    Jeff,
I am so very thankful that I came across your video. I despise my current bathroom. My son had suggested that the renovation I wanted would probably cost around $10K. A recent quote came in at $7K. I'm no professional craftsman. But, I can certainly handle wire cutters, strippers, and compression nuts. I'm not ashamed to totally plagiarize your project. You have demonstrated the project of my dreams. I have already subscribed to your channel, and will most likely join before I start my project next month. Keep doing what you are doing. The tips you share are of a wonderful benefit!

i've been watching your videos for about two years.
This year, I bought a home that had a lot of.... "deferred maintenance."
I was absolutely not deterred by the damage and work at all. Even though I had Never done the work myself, I have seen you do it for literally days on days.... The inspection report was the stuff of nightmares... Lots of gasps and deep breaths from the inspector and a final comment saying "I hope you're getting a good deal...."
Well, 8 months of after my job work, and about $20,000 in materials ($12,000 into roof and foundation) and I'm done. The home appraised for an additional $50,000 above my loan, and I thank your channel for giving me the confidence to go through with the purchase.
I cannot say this enough... thank you. I really think your youtube channel has changed the course of my life

After watching your video on Kurde board I decided to use it for my bathroom remodel. While I know within the depths of my soul it will NEVER leak. It was expensive and a pain in the butt to work with. The board is just to flexible to install on an old wall that isn’t true. It made the tile work much harder. Coming from Salt Lake City Utah. Love your videos buddy

Hi. I've done literally hundreds of bathrooms in my time (Hotels etc. ). For walls, we usually use waterproofed plaster boards. Some places use waterproof wood based boards, but that is uncommon. As a water membrane, we use some paint-ons like that mapei You use, but in corners we add special reinforced rubber tapes. And if You have to be sure that nothing will pass... Just use Deitermann Superflex. That does the job. Always.

I found a hybrid silicone grout product at Home Depot. I used it as the grout on the floor of my walk-in shower. It's working, and yes, red seal and moisture barrier are also under the wood-grain porcelain tile.

A couple of points for the planking. First you need to use a sharp blade to score the planking, not the same old rounded corner with no edge left. Also you are not suppose to add any type of pad under L.V.P. It will wear out the seam edges due to excessive flexing. So your heated floor should have been cemented or thin set in as to make it a non flexing subfloor. Another tool to cut planking is a multi tool.

You can drill glass and tile the same way. Water in the sponge with pressure drips, keeps it cool, and can prevent cracking. Some items can still crack or break, but it's less likely.

You’re a genius! Capable. Trustworthy. Sensible. Determined. I can’t do DIY but shared your channel with my son who’s doing DIY at his house and your videos very helpful. Wish I could find someone as capable and trustworthy as you to complete my projects.

Concerning the tile work, you got to love it when a job works out like that! So much time saved on cuts. Love your videos by the way.

I watched it on 2x and i even went back to that part but i still didn't catch as to why he left that little gap? Was he worried about not having enough tile and figuring the mirror will cover it any way?

I fully agree - cement board and waterproofing membrane is the way to go! It just makes economical sense by the time you have bought the fancy board and then all the rolls of tape that go with it the bill starts to climb!
